I'm sorry I brough such a depressing topic into the blog.  A little back story without too much detail. I met my friend 12 years ago during an AF commissioning program. He was on top of the world

I don’t generally hate any player….but I really hate Barnett. Why they brought him back is dumbfounding. I can’t stand him

$489,000 this year and another $489,000 next year.

It would be $ 479,587 dead this year, or $239,793.50 this year and next.

He's a solid player on a cheap deal at premium position and brings a level of toughness and attitude to the defense.

He's got a high football IQ though

People confuse trying to understand why a decision is made with a defense of a decision.

Too often, decisions are judged ex-post, when hindsight is 20/20, I want to understand the reasoning ex ante, when the decision has to be made with insufficient information.

Confirmation bias says if you focus on the result, you'll get a skewed take on whether it was a good decision. For example, people used to think there were financial geniuses, based on results, then careful analysis showed that most "winners' were just lucky, only a very small minority of financial managers had results that were statistically different from random fluctuations. But if you judged those managers on results, without taking into account luck, many seemed to be above average.

It is better to be lucky than good, but confusing luck with skill leads to overconfidence.

Yes - I think understanding the decision process vs. just the result is important.  I don't think others that disagree with you are necessarily overlooking the process.  I think they might have a more cynical take on the process as it involves Howie's decisions.

The OC doesn't at all sound like Nick Foles but her does look like him.

He doesn’t look at Foles at all. This is not a good take. Stop posting it every week.

Afans fixed mindset is toxic to those discussions. Thats why so many rail against him

That is only the case if you see the conversations here as competitions between right and wrong ... wanting always to be the one with the right answer.  The topics we discuss are so nuanced that there almost never is a right answer.  I often disagree with Afan, but since I'm not trying to compete with him for the "I am right and you are wrong" prize, I take in his input, adjust my thinking accordingly, and move on.  That is exactly what I have done with all the anti-Hurts thinking.  I take it in, process it, and then move on.  I know that the anti-Hurts believers are just as fixed in their beliefs as Afan is, so there is no point in trying to get them to see an alternative perspective.  @downundermike sees that as ignoring him, but it really is that I don't see any progress that picking a fight might cause.  I know that my thinking is biased, because I happen to love running plays when they are executed well.  Barry Sanders and Emmitt Smith and Walter Payton and Gayle Sayers and Jimmy Brown may all have been rivals of the Eagles, but they were incredibly enjoyable to watch as they played the game.

That's a hamstring.

What I hate about hamstring injuries this early is that even if they come back healthy (Calcaterra/Sanders), there's a strong chance that hamstring gets aggravated throughout the year.  Those guys won't be 100% until the season is over and they can get true rest.  Not that any player in the NFL is ever 100% but those hamstrings are just nagging.

Can you make the letters in my name green?

At some point in the next 18 or so months, it won't be needed at all. They've made it legal, they just don't have dispensaries yet and won't until sometime in 2024.

Delta 8 is legal, but the Virginia version of the FDA recently banned edibles as being unsafe.

Great against decent or less than decent WR.  But "big play Slay" when going up against true WR1.

tbf, i don't think many cb's can stay with hill 1-on-1.  he's almost always defended with safety help over the top.

No he does.  They have that same shabby hair busting out the back of the hat.

Do me a favor though and either change out your tampon or toss me on ignore if you're going to have a stick up your ass about everything I post.

Tua went 24/27 in team drills today

Much like Reagor, he is a net negative to the team.

He has 26 ACCEPTED penalties in his career.

Compared to 21.5 sacks.

How is that solid? He's a giant POS. And, even takes cheap shots at our own guys (See Andre Dillard). F Barnett.

Harper with two jacks in his first rehab game last night?  Jesus

We talking home runs, or....?

I'm generally against always bringing the same guys back, especially later in their career, but it's starting to look like not bringing back McLeod is going to be a mistake. Especially since they chose Harris over him.
