Anyway, he's appointed a ton of people in the legal system and I'd assume vast majority will drive quite a bit of right wing thinking but very few would suck Trump's tiny stump.

That's how I thought it would go down, they will lean right but still do their jobs as judges (Thomas notwithstanding, that guy seems crooked as hell). Some of the things that were being said here when Barrett was appointed cracked me up.

As far as Trump himself goes, I was more worried about Bannon's efforts to get total nut jobs in place in the various State level governments. Seems like they failed there for the most part which was huge. It will take time but the courts can be rebuilt.
December 7, 20222 yr Trump lawyers hire outside team to search four properties for classified info https://www.cnn.com/2022/12/07/politics/trump-lawyers-properties-search/index.html Quote Lawyers for former President Donald Trump recently hired a team to search four of his properties for any potentially remaining classified materials, according to a source familiar the matter. The team of two searched Trump Tower in New York, the Bedminster golf club and two other properties amid lingering concerns from the Justice Department that not all documents had been returned to the federal government. The four searches, which were carried out in recent weeks, were overseen by Trump’s legal team, the source said. Trump’s attorneys offered to let federal investigators observe the search at his Bedminster property, but that offer was declined. Given the Justice Department’s response, Trump lawyers did not make a similar offer for the search of the other properties. I'm sure Trump and his lawyers will be up front with what they discover.

To me this means.. Trump took a bunch of crap from the white house. There was a mix of unimportant documents as well as classified, but either way Trump didn't care. And he treated them as such. He figured "I was president. And even if I'm not president they're still mine." Because that's how he thinks. In his mind he did nothing wrong, but these damn harpies at the records office and now DOJ are insisting he produce them, but honestly he doesn't know where they are because who could keep track of so much classified material? So he's legit hiring a firm to find it. Because he legit doesn't know where it got to. He's a toddler. He knows he could get wins by holding Hillary accountable for how she handle classified documents, but he never thought it really mattered that much. It's all a game because he's a goddamn child. 4 minutes ago, vikas83 said: Buttery.. storage units. Doesn't have the same ring.

December 7, 20222 yr No doubt the DOJ is going to have those involved with moving boxes from the White House testify to the Grand Jury about who was doing what and who was in charge of packing etc. The line is going to point straight to trump.
December 7, 20222 yr Report: Classified items found at Trump storage unit in Fla. Wed, December 7, 2022 at 2:32 PM WASHINGTON (AP) — Lawyers for former President Donald Trump found at least two items marked as classified during a recent search of a storage unit in West Palm Beach, Florida, and have provided them to the FBI, according to a published report Wednesday. The Washington Post, citing anonymous sources, reported that the items were discovered by an outside team brought in by Trump's representatives to search his other properties for any additional classified materials. The nature of the classified materials was not immediately clear, but the storage unit in which they were found had been used to hold items from an office in northern Virginia used by Trump staffers after he left office, the newspaper said. The FBI recovered roughly 100 documents marked as classified during an Aug. 8 search of Trump's Palm Beach estate, Mar-a-Lago. That's on top of 37 documents bearing classification markings that Trump lawyers retrieved from the home during a June visit, as well as 15 boxes containing about 184 classified documents recovered in January by the National Archives and Records Administration. The possibility that the Justice Department had not yet recovered all classified materials has existed for months.

'Deeply Problematic': Experts Question Judge's Intervention in Trump Inquiry Charlie Savage Tue, September 6, 2022 at 8:00 AM WASHINGTON — A federal judge’s extraordinary decision Monday to interject in the criminal investigation into former President Donald Trump’s hoarding of sensitive government documents at his Florida residence showed unusual solicitude to him, legal specialists said. This was "an unprecedented intervention by a federal district judge into the middle of an ongoing federal criminal and national security investigation,” said Stephen I. Vladeck, a law professor at the University of Texas. Siding with Trump, the judge, Aileen M. Cannon, ordered the appointment of an independent arbiter to review the more than 11,000 government records the FBI seized in its search of Mar-a-Lago last month. She granted the arbiter, known as a special master, broad powers that extended beyond filtering materials that were potentially subject to attorney-client privilege to also include executive privilege. Cannon, a Trump appointee who sits on the U.S. District Court for the Southern District of Florida, also blocked federal prosecutors from further examining the seized materials for the investigation until the special master had completed a review. It took her long enough. We all know the lawsuit lacked jurisdiction the moment Trump filed it.
