A big thing about the Eagles going against winning teams will be how the defense performs because it put up no resistance in those games against QBs who are good.  80%+ completion for all of them was disgusting.  Eagles realized that and their defense, especially secondary has been revamped.  

This is a double digit win team. Bthey have done enough in the areas where they needed to improve at in the offseason to make them at the very least just a little but better in those areas. And that will all add up to shifting some of those games that they lost into games that they won. 

 

Another aspect of their games against good teams is coaching.  This is now one of the most talented and complete rosters in the league.  It's now up to a young coaching staff to show they are capable of winning the chess game against other coaches who are able to scheme their way to wins against other good coaches.

Howie needed to get some young cornerstone players in here on defense and he added a few.  Davis, Dean and Reddick.  Guys who will be a part of this defense for the foreseeable future. You can't do it all in one offseason but they needed to add some actual young talent under 30 and he did that.

I wouldn't get too worked up over this little circle jerk cult of bullies.

Its been suggested to me by a few posters to just ignore them after they're trolling scheme against RTK and apparently that's what the mods have done as well.

Some are of the opinion that if enough of us 

Ignore them they will go away, if it were one or two maybe but when it's a circle jerk of about 5 or 6 they feed off each other and infect the board.

Important tidbit for those of us doing the roster gymnastics in our heads.  Sills, Tuipulotu and Wallace are the first to go IMO if they are going to claim someone.  Wallace only goes if they are claiming another safety.  OL and DT are "heavy" positions where they can afford to lose a guy to add a RB4 or WR6.

Maybe the Rick Lavato trick works too?

Probably comes down to what position we claim. Location is an easy one off the top. After that, if we claim a safety, bye Wallace. If it’s an IL, but Sills.

I wouldn’t claim him, but I would make a big push to sign Kainoh to the PS. He’s got great measureables at DE. He’s raw and missed his rookie year with an injury so he’s a long shot.

How do you qualify mostly? You’d imagine if Hurts was at least what he was last year, that this roster could win 9-10 games, but Gannon will have a big say in that as well

It hinges almost entirely on his play as well as Gannon's influence. Those two are the biggest question marks about the season right now

Mostly- meaning that unless we are hit with unprecedented injuries to major groups, like Oline, WR, Dline, DB's etc...  That this season's outcome really lies with QB1 at this point. The roster is a CHampionship caliber roster save QB.

In today's NFL a championship-caliber team can be built with a top 5 offense and a top 15 defense.  For that, the Eagles would need an elite (top 8 out of 32) QB.  Not having that QB means you need a top 5 defense to be a Super Bowl team. 

Eagles aren't there yet.  I still see their ceiling this year at 11 wins.
