So far so good for Syndergaard

and 4-5-6 even better

Well Penn State sucking means I can just focus on the Phils

ATTTTA BABY

I really hate this instant player interview stuff.  So much can change during a game.  Wait until things are over sheesh.

He was actually solid with the angels this year cause they used a 6 man rotation. When he’s pitched on 5 days or more rest he’s been effective. Hopefully he can continue to be and we can add on some more runs

Syndergaard is doing very well.   Keep the bases clean and a homer doesn't hurt too bad.   Versus Morton who has been flirting with danger all game.    3 runs versus 1 run.   Huge difference.

JT with an inside the park!!!!!!!   LET"S GO!!!!

Braves are not playing fundamentally sound baseball.    CF needed to be told he ran out of room by the LF.   RF needed to be rotating over to back him up.

Realmuto could have had a stand up inside the park HR if he's sprinting out of the box.

Phillies playing well and getting a nice 3 innings from thor. Feels like the only team that had the week off that seems to be playing at the level prior to the time off is the Astros.

Yup.   Breaks like that is good for the pitchers (normally) but bad for the hitters, IMO.    And the Braves pitching is leaking oil.   And we knew that going in.  Best matchup for the Phillies was St. Louis and then Atlanta.

Another solo shot.   Phillies' O needs to keep tacking on more.

I actually like it. Baseball is the perfect sport for it since there’s such a lag and I like the in the moment responses.

Yeah i thought yesterday whoever gets to 7 runs is winning game 4 since it was Morton on the road and you didn’t know what you were getting from thor and the pen with the Phillies

He’s got some wheels. I was a bit nervous when the throw was coming in just because and then the camera cut to him already safe lol

Yup.   I was wondering too.  But, it really wasn't even remotely close.  And that's with him not hitting the jets until he was basically around 1st.

I would love to see the Phillies get to 7 today.  I'd prefer 9.  I'd be over the moon for double digits!!!

Austin Riley looks completely lost up there. He’s off. Trea Turner it feels the same way. Like you said as a hitter the time off really doesn’t help. Pitching definitely does as guys get a couple days off but not enough time where it’s hard to build stamina back up. The thing with strider yesterday was his stamina wasn’t there. He hadn’t pitched in a month. That’s what i was worried about with Wheeler when they brought him back

Byes in baseball seem to be a very bad thing. That break really seems to screw with teams, especially when a wild card team can catch fire by playing

Yea, byes make sense in football. They feel like automatic coolers in baseball.

I’m guessing at some point they add another 2 teams to the playoffs for revenue purposes and everyone plays the wild card round

Nice at-bat by Stott.   Veteran like at-bat.  From 0-2, to full count.  To a lead-off single.

Keepin' the pressure on the Braves' pitching staff.   :flex:

Just need enough time to get your pitching order set.  Anything more than that is bad.

I think by the time stott is done here he’ll have a chase like following. He’s gonna be a really good hitter as he develops more. You could see it since June. Even when he was slumping in September it looked more like he needed a second wind then just poor swings

The benefit is having that home field for the last game of the series... if needed.  BUT, it doesn't matter if you can't get to that game.

Round 1 - 3 game series all at one park makes sense.  No need for the full bye.   Give the top team a little more of a boost... let the last two teams that currently miss the playoffs play a 'play-in game', which means they have to throw their top available guy in that game, and don't have that guy available for Game 1 of the Wild Card round.

Uh oh... Intentional Walk to get to Hoskins again.
