I never gamble, so not familiar with any of this.

Does this say if all 4 things happen then you win 392$ off a 100$ bet?

No, it's Iowa.... I mean, Philadelphia.

This article is by Jeremy Fowler, he has good sources. This isn’t the typical nonsense Insider trash. Of course it’s just rumblings though, as if it were actual reporting it wouldn’t be behind a pay wall. But it’s the bye week and not much else to discuss.

Back in what day?  The CFL still has the goalposts at the front of the end zone.  It provides levity when a QB hits a goal post trying to throw out of his own end zone.

That used to be a safety in the NFL when that happened. I believe a championship was once lost because of this happening. A team lost by a point after having surrendered a safety earlier in the game like this.

Another weird rule was that a fourth down incompletion that was thrown into the end zone resulted in a touchback. I’m not sure if the specifics of that rule required the ball to actually land in the field of play in the end zone. But basically if that rule were still in place at the time, the pass to Julio Jones would have resulted in a touchback. I remember seeing this, I think,  in an Eagles-Packers game circa 1974.

EDIT: I should point out that the incomplete pass had to have come from inside the twenty. It wouldn’t apply to longer passes.

I do.  Won't post the entire article.  Paid content.

Here is the only Eagles-related mention...

Philadelphia Eagles general manager Howie Roseman is always lurking, armed with quality offensive line depth that teams covet. Roseman listens to every possible deal and already has an extra first-round pick in next year's NFL draft. Will he impose his front-office will?

I also think the Broncos would be willing to give up some compensation for him. Because id guess they likely believe if they’re willing to go after Payton that he can resurrect Russell Wilson and this offense.

In theory you may be right, but they really don't have much left to offer as compensation after the Wilson depleted their Draft pick inventory.

hear me out:

This Eagles team is built In a way It reminds me of how the Steelers used to play with Rothelisberger when they were good. Defense is good, stop the run, be able to rush the passer, get turn overs, Offense is run based, but with good weapons, QB basically has to manage the game, make good decisions and can extend some plays with his athleticism.

The main difference where everyone will poo poo this, is the Eagles offensive style revolves around the RO and RPOs where that was clearly not the steelers offense. But we have a good Defense, can play both the run and the pass, we primarily run the ball, Can take over games with it, if we remember to keep running, and we have a strong QB who can extend plays, make things happen, and yet wont light up the TD stats throwing the ball regularly.

It really is a tried and true method of winning, with a twist. How many years has the board called for RUN THE BALL, STOP THE RUN type of play? Ever since I have been coming, back in 2001, it's always been an issue.  This feels good. That drive in the 4th, when Shane/Nick remembered to run the ball, took off over 7 mins and what 15 plays?, and just drove it down their throats. This is how you wear teams out.

The challenge will be when we get behind, can we play out of it throwing it when we need to?

Hey guys just wanted to wish you all luck with your Phillies. I hope they go all the way for you. Hurts still looking pretty good as is the whole team. Maybe Siri isn't the doofus that he looks like. I also wanted to post a picture of this bad boy I took up in Maine in Sept.

Plays like this make me not want the dude back next year. Then of course every handful of games he’ll have a monster game that makes you reconsider. This was bad though,

Fletcher Cox has not been "bad", but he has been "inconsistent". He's playing too many snaps because Milton and Marlon have been bad.

We should trade for Matt Ioannidis. Would help the base-down run defense and take Fletcher off the field in 1st down when he's less effective.

I'm confused.  Did he plant a bear seed in the planter?

It kind of begs the question as to why Cox would play in that situation over Davis.  So what Davis isn't going to rush the passer.  He's also not going to get moved 10 yards downfield.  It's also exemplifies how Dallas just looked to see whether Davis was in the huddle to make the play call.  They knew it was a 4-2-5 look because Gannon doesn't ever run a 4-3 and uses Davis in 5 man fronts.  He has to have some defensive audibles that account for this.  Like move White over to OLB make Cox the NT and move Graham inside if it looks like a run.

Rumors are rumors.   It's why I generally don't pay attention to most rumors.   Those things spread like wildfire across the internet, and many times the seed of it is one random guy speculating and others misreading the speculation and it turns into something, even though it's nothing.   ESPN insider seems like a waste.  But, you do get early access to Mel Kiper's big board and mock drafts.   So, there's that.   😒

We should be able to. The offense has the weapons to do so

Alot depends on what measurement you use

Ok…here’s an exercise.  Without looking up stats, just going off feel…rank where you think each unit on the team is relative to the rest of the nfl based on these 6 games only:

QB: top 10, not top 5 = #5 in QB Rating (98.4) behind Tua, Allen, Geno and Mahomes.  Ahead of Burrow, Brady, Garropolo and Rodgers. #8 in yards, #17 in TDs, #3 in INTs

RB: top 10, not top 5 = #8 in yards per game

WR/TE: Top 5 = #6/#15/#3 in yards per game

OL: Top 5 = #1 by acclamation

DL (including edge): just outside top 5

LB: Top 10

DB: #1

ST: not top 20

Comes down to how well Hurts does throwing the ball without the RPO threat.  We still haven't seen that.  Also, we haven't seen him do very well against the blitz.   That's still to come, I hope.

I was thinking the other day.  As of now, we have about 8 guys who you can make a strong Pro Bowl case for if they stay on their current track.

Hurts

Sanders

AJ Brown

Goedert

Kelce

Johnson

Slay

Bradberry

Maybe:

Devonte, CJGJ and Reddick

Mailata too.  Possibly Dickerson.

Lions will miss Swift a lot on O.  Cowboys D should slow that O down.  Lions D will be a good match for the Cowboys O ... both flawed.  It may come down to kickers.
