Stuff it.  The discussion you reference was when the team was at (or close to) a 0-0 record ... as was every other team in the NFC.  Now they are 6-0 with the minimum of a game lead on all the other teams.  The depth needed for an all out SB push is different than the =depth needed in week one of a "make the Playoffs" year with hopes of winning a round or two in those Playoffs.

You really love to pick those nits.

And on top of that Howie knows his ass is grass in this town if he doesn't keep up with Dombrowski.

Teams keep pitching to Harper and picking up the phone when Howie calls.

So the Monsters of the Midway just gave us ammo even though the Birds play them in week 15?  Ok. Great.  Welcome Robert.

Them playing the Eagles this year has zero impact on the decision to trade him here

So then what are they going to do about ST in the weeks after? What does he really have to learn? When he’s in, go get the QB. You didn’t trade for a top-tier pass rusher to let him sit.

It’s one game and if it’s only 6-8 snaps, might as well let the guy just have a bye week especially since we are playing Thursday right after. He’s not coming in until tomorrow and will have maybe one practice under his belt.

You figure it out on ST’s weeks after. Point was it doesn’t make sense to take away from ST’s just for a guy to play 8ish percent of the Defensive snaps. If he’s playing 40/50 percent of the snaps then yea, take away from ST’s.

Trade that Saints 1st rounder. Drop down in the first a few spots and pick up a few mid rd picks.  Boom. Done..

I mean that all sounds great and should be easily done.  However, I'd rather use the Saints pick on a premier player (assuming there's a clear cut guy to take) and then trade their own pick.  However, if there is no position player the Eagles value and they are 100% bought in to Jalen Hurts, then yes, that Saints pick could bring back a kings ransom for a QB needy team.

I just don't like the trend that Howie has created.  Over the last 5 drafts the Eagles have sat idol through 2 consecutive rounds multiple times and last year sat by as 3 rounds go by.  The talent gap between multiple rounds can be pretty drastic.

2022- 98 picks between Dean and Calcaterra

2021- 50 picks between McPhearson and Gainwell

2019- 81 picks between JJAW and Shareef Miller, then none over the last 87

2018- 76 picks between Goedert and Maddox and 76 picks between Sweat and Pryor

As of now, if the Eagles win the SB they would be sitting as 157 picks go by from 97 to 254.  I'm sure that will change but not confident that they will add too many.

The Eagles have a deep roster and always overpay UDFAs. They don't need 10 pick in this upcoming draft unless we let most UFAs walk.

If we actually would win the SB Roseman did everything right.

Who the f.. cares how he got there.

I guess I'm constantly looking down the road so the Eagles don't end up in a situation like the Saints or Rams.

@4for4EaglesNest gonna be pissed

Eagles somehow not paying any of Quinn's salary is incredible.

Even if he stinks and you cut him next year, that’s a pretty great move

2022- 98 picks between Dean and Calcaterra - A GAP ON DAY THREE WITH A KNOWN DEEP UDFA POOL AVAILABLE DUE TO THE BROWN AND DAVIS MOVES

2021- 50 picks between McPhearson and Gainwell - LESS THAN TWO ROUNDS

2019- 81 picks between JJAW and Shareef Miller, then none over the last 87 - IN-DRAFT MANEUVERING

2018- 76 picks between Goedert and Maddox and 76 picks between Sweat and Pryor - FEWER PICKS FROM THE ORIGINAL TRADE-UP FOR WENTZ

I am not sure it is a tactical trend, but rather a series of outcomes resulting from decisions in the moment.

It's just this year though right?  Aren't they on the hook for $18 and $17 million after this year?  Am I reading it wrong?

It is, but man do red flags like this make me question what they know that we don’t

$13 and $12M next two years but completely non guaranteed as is right now. They can walk away clean with no dead money.

Non-guaranteed.

Robert Quinn can essentially veto any trade, by telling the Bears where he doesn't want to go.

Prime candidate for a few extra void years with his 2023 salary becoming guaranteed if he plays well.

Now that we know that, Eagles with rollover from this year will have 13.15 million in cap space next year.

Eagles have 6 draft picks, and 13.15 million in cap space to replace

Yeah going to be all but a sure thing that Howie tries to flip that Saints 1st into some more picks via trade down.
