Apparently Jobe was working out there during camp. But presumably he's not healthy at the moment. I suspect Covey will either be upgraded to the 53-man roster immediately or will be activated off the PS for a few games until that option expires, at which point he would then be added to the active roster.

Yes.  They get to have 48 Actives if they activate 8 O-Linemen on game day.  The 47th is likely to be Covey and the 48th is likely to be Cameron Tom if Kelce isn't healed enough to at least take the opening snap of the O in the game to keep his streak alive.

Threw the ball same amount with Garcia as with McNabb, about 33 times a game

False.  33.9 attempts per game for McNabb, 29.875 for Garcia.

Also, you can not just look at attempts, 57.7% passing with McNabb, 52.7% for Garcia in the regular season, 52.7% including the playoffs.

He might be better than Reagor.

So who’s everyone’s bet on PR week 1? Watkins? Scott? Gainwell? Smith?

Hopefully this doesn't turn into a situation like the year they trotted Glew out there because  they had no one else to return punts and it cost them games.

We'll see. First priority of a PR is to field the ball cleanly, that means not letting it bounce 20 yards behind you a la Greg ward.

Anything after the clean catch is gravy

Compared to what he gave up to get him?   It was maybe a quarter on the dollar for Wentz.

They gave up 2 firsts, a 2nd, a 3rd and a 4th.. over 3 years (1st, 3rd, 4th in year 1... 1st in year 2, 2nd in year 3)

They got back a 3rd and a 1st.  (3rd in year 1, 1st in year 2)

The real value with Wentz was the 2017 season.  That was worth any price.

When you buy and sell stocks, you don't get hung up on individual transactions, but rather are concerned with the total portfolio valus.  Some stock purchases are winners some are meh and some are losers, but what they are in aggregate is the only thing that really matters.

Lots of investors never look at the detail pages of their monthly IRA or 401K report.  All they look at is the bottom-line total value.

So I'm sitting here for about three hours trying to track the Eagles practice squad. Based on reports -- and nothing official -- it appears that we have eight spots filled:

Devon Allen, Dean Cain, Britain Covey, Mario Goodrich, La'Mical Perine, Reid Sinnett, Noah Togiai, and Cameron Tom.

The ones I'm not convinced of are Covey and Sinnett. It's possible that someone saw Covey in the building and assumed he was on the PS while in fact he was there waiting to be signed to the active roster once the Reagor deal went down. Likewise it's possible that Sinnett was intended to be signed to the PS but that got torpedoed when they claimed Ian Book. My guess is that they both are on the PS, but I'd like a little more definitive.

Meanwhile we wait for eight more, nine if you could Leo.

When you invest, you need to understand what is a good investment and what is a bad investment.  Knowing when to pull the plug is important.  Being able to figure out why an investment went south and try not to make that same mistake again is also valuable.   Discrete information matters, especially on major investments.   A first round pick... a second round pick... these aren't the same as investing in a mutual fund.  These are discrete investments and their discrete ROI matters.

A lot of times the lower picked player ends up being better....

You are correct like DK Metcalf and Justin Jefferson.

I thought he was still considering it, but hadn't made a decision yet.

Especially when Howie is the guy picking the WR.

As is often the case, we will have to agree to disagree.  You are looking at the transaction from the viewpoint of deciding whether to make it or not.  I'm assuming the transaction has already been made ... that it is an event that can not be undone ... sunk costs.

With that said, I respect your perspective ... just different assumptions.

The real value with Wentz was the 2017 season.  That was worth any price.

The wentz return was not what they gave up but fine in my opinion. They got 4 good years out of him and one bad year. He was a major part of giving the fans and organization hope when he was drafted and helped along with Nick to ultimately bring a super bowl here. Obviously I would’ve like to get more but with how it all ended, with what you were paying him and how the market wasn’t robust for him I thought that was pretty good value.

The Jjaw and reagor trades look good in the moment with no context other then those players are useless, aren’t good and they got something for them. But that’s not the issue, the issue is you wasted high round picks on guys who were useless. They were more of a detriment to the team then help the team. Don’t get me wrong I’m happy they’re no longer here. Im happy they got something for them. But I’m also disappointed by the fact those two high round picks were basically wasted.

To howie’s credit the last two years he’s  been much better at drafting. However that doesn’t change by the start of the 2023 season there is a possibility there is nobody left on this roster from the 2019 draft class. The top 3 picks in 2020 class really needs hurts to be the guy cause those picks looks super underwhelming.
