Wallace, Driscoll, Bradley

Wallace is next on the chopping block. Wouldn’t be surprised to see them find a better safety to replace him

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

Interesting omissions:

Hightower, Huntley, Brooks, Wren, Stevens, Vincent, Gowan, McCain, Mayden

Notice Howie isn't letting sunk costs (draft picks used or traded) to influence his decisions.

Remember Tyree Jackson and Toth will return in a few weeks, then we'll see how much they like Sills.

Some of the maneuvering right now is waiting until you're close to game day, when teams will be less likely to claim players you waive, so you can get them to the PS, where you can protect 3 players from claims.

I don't think they're sold on Book or Sinnett, they may be there simply to give the scout team different looks (pocket QB, mobile QB).

Vincent and Gowan were always lottery tickets. Their numbers didn't get called.

One of them was the return for Ertz in trade. Seems Howie doesn't win them all.

Holy smokes.  Great catch.  Never thought of that.  Wowsers!

Cut him some slack, he's been down in the mines all week

The only way this day can get better in Eagles news is if somehow, someway he gets something for Barnett.

Wonder if it’s Covey or someone else from another team. We will find out shortly. We only have 1 open spot after +Book & -Reagor & Taylor, right?

1 main roster spot, 1 practice squad spot and potential IR's to free up more spots

Oh no we never got to see him reach top speed!

Me too, I thought he had a legit shot at the roster, Sills came out of no where and beat him out 🤷‍♂️

I thought PS was 16 and Leo didn't count

No. Yuck to 39 and 41 on WR

16 is correct

Leo did not count on the 90 man camp roster, but he counts on the roster or PS during the regular season.

Agreed

Correct. I so far saw 16 players including Leo so they should have one more spot open.

I would like to see Bo Melton brought in. He can return kicks too.

Leo doesn't count ever unless they remove the International Exemption tag or whatever its called

I wouldn't be surprised if Taylor is simply added back to the 53-man roster a day from now. My guess is that is their intention.

I had a feeling that the trade of Reagor would not count as the corresponding move and that another shoe would have to drop. In this case, it's Taylor.

Official Eagles announcement.   14 PS

Allen, Brooks, Cain, Covey, Clark, Awosika, Ellis, Goodrich, Harris, Leo, Sinnett, Togiai, Tom, Wilson

He'd have to clear waivers. I'd say no problem, but...the Bears seem to claim everyone

La'Mical Perine to the Eagles practice squad.  Howie getting Gators to play with Anthony Richardson next year.

How many Florida RBs do the Eagles need?

whoa

Low risk player to cut if they want to resign after Reagor trade is finalized or if the want to sign to the PS.  No guarantee he is gone forever.

From the PS trackers, no sign that Wilson signed elsewhere or Vincent or Gowan.  Now their agents may be shopping for the best opportunity for their clients at this point.  Abram Smith not signed as last I saw since we like picking up Saints.

It's possible but since they waived him instead of just cutting a vested veteran, they don't seem concerned about the possibility of losing him.

He would count on the roster if they wanted to put him there, but he doesn't count on the PS. Howie mentioned "70" players a couple times yesterday, which is the 53 and the 16, plus the exemption for Leo.

So we still have one PS spot open.

What a disaster of a year? Who was the moron that called that draft?

People have ridiculous expectations when it comes to drafting.

In an average draft, if you land 2 solid starters and one decent backup, you're doing well.

2020 - Hurts, Watkins but also Driscoll and Bradley. Wallace TBD.

And then you hit HRs:

2018 - no 1st rd pick (Wentz) but Goedert, Maddox, Sweat, Pryor, Mailata.

Also included in the new rule are a few curve balls.

The NFL currently has 14 IPP players and they are now allowed to terminate their IPP contract and sign a practice player contract.

This new deal requires said players to remain on the practice squad for at least three games, but after that, they can be brought up.

However, if a team lifts the original IPP exemption, they cannot put the player back on it.

Or if you want to go by the reality that just about everyone had JJ as the obvious next best WR on the board.  Or that I was on that bandwagon the entire time.  Or you recognize that prior to Smith being selected in 2020, the Eagles were on roughly a 12 year span of not being able to find a WR in the draft that would amount to anything in the NFL, but sure ... let's hide behind the idea that there was no history of failure at the position historically and that 'every team misses' ... or that Reagor and JJAW were somehow the consensus obvious selections when the Eagles were on the clock.

Howie crapped the bed.  Fortunately, he was able to find a team dumb enough to give him something in return.

The trade of Reagor is a great thing, but it pales in comparison to the failure the selection was in the first place.  Brutal, brutal failure.

BS narrative. Sure we missed on two WRs, and badly. Meanwhile we hit on linemen. Other teams missed there, hit here.

And I don’t agree with that idea of: ‘Just listen to the pundits, they know’ either. Just look at the Raiders.

It’s just stupid to focus that hard on a few bad picks while our team clearly is making great progress and is in the great scheme of things very successful.

We can be glad even the choices that fail return capital. And that’s especially true for failed QBs.
