Browns want a 4th, Eagles don’t have one.  Gonna trade a 3rd for an 11 game rental ??

First two says it has to be a fourth from this year? Doesn’t. I’m guessing could make it a 2024 4th with conditions on it that the browns may like more.  Second, I’m guessing the Browns are gonna be pretty damn crappy the rest of the year even when they get Deshaun Watson back as he hasn’t played in 2 years. So would i trade our third and a 7th in exchange for the browns 4th and hunt? I probably do it. so is the 15 to 20 slots is really gonna make the difference picking around 30th in the 3rd round and picking around 7th in the fourth round? Probably not as much of an impact as you get from hunt with where we sit right now.

I am also guessing the rumors of it just being a fourth round pick are probably not as accurate as we think. Because I’m guessing if that’s all it took to get hunt he wouldn’t still be on the Browns. Because I’m guessing somebody would’ve already paid that price for him. Particularly a team like the rams

Ronald Jones has been bad at pass blocking since his time at usc. So you’re bringing in another running back who can’t pass protect or pick up the blitz well on a team that needs a pass blocking running back. There’s a reason why McKinnon who’s done very little the previous two years and a late round rookie in Pacheco are being used over jones.

I think he has more talent than Boston Scott but the problem is Boston Scott knows the offense already and coaches trust him. Also I don’t have to worry about Boston Scott going on Twitter whining about his role on a team as his team is the 2 seed vying for a SB.  Also, Ronald Jones, as a pass catcher has regressed every season since 2019. similar to what happened with Miles Sanders from his rookie year and then his next 2 seasons. So really you’re getting a back that has to be a first and second down back as his pass catching skills have begun to erode and he’s not good in pass protection. And sanders is better than jones. you need somebody that can do what Miles Sanders, gainwell, and Boston Scott don’t do very well which is blitz pickup and pass pro that can also receive the ball at a high level and a good runner. Which is exactly Kareem hunt. And I know Kareem hunt is OK being part of a 1-2 punch as he’s done it with chubb over past couple years so i know he’s not gonna b***h. Whether or not they get him is a different story. But I’d definitely go after him if the price is right over Ronald jones

Is Saints pick remains a top 5-7, would you rather trade both 1sts to move up for Will Anderson or trade back for a kings ransom?

Will Anderson is a 1 of 1 prospect, well worth 2 1st.

Your options are either buy early and pay thru the nose,  or.... wait until last minute and get a decent price.  I have never had problems finding tickets day of or night before.  Stubhub, vivid seats. Never ever ever buy from scalper at the lot.

Please.  That Phillies fanbase is so fairweather and bandwagon.  Their ball park has been half empty for a decade.  Half empty all season as well.  Once they get in the playoffs though everyone and their mother suddenly becomes the biggest Phillies fan in the world and everyone is buying Phillies gear and now just finally packing the stadium.  It's as fairweather as it gets.

This can be said for 90% of baseball teams.  Not everyone wants to sit outside in the 95 degree heat for a baseball game.

This says top 10 from 2010 to 2019.  https://www.ballparksofbaseball.com/2010s-ballpark-attendance/

But yes, attendance is down but the product has been bad and underperformed too.

Still a solid fanbase for merchandise. Set the one day record for merchandise.  And $ matters.

2022 dead middle at 16th in attendance.  So yes, this year should have been a tick better.  They have been entertaining enough to warrant 32m+ in attendance. https://www.espn.com/mlb/attendance

Just saying padres from 2007-2019 were consistently 14-22nd in the league. Last two years they’ve been top 10. Mainly cause they were good to start 2021 and 2022 they were good. Most fans with baseball when they arent good they don’t go. This applies to almost every baseball fan base outside of a few exceptions.

also point out the sixers weren’t exactly killing it with attendance from 08-17 even before the process when they were a fringe playoff team

08: 23rd

09: 23rd

10: 26th

11: 25th

12: 14th

13: 17th

14: 29th

15: 30th

16: 28th

17: 18th

wasnt until the sixers got good that people really started going

18: 3rd

19: 1st

I watched Maxey dominate. Turned to the phillies. In the 9th inning while watching on the youtube TV app on my phone, I simultaneously landed a PS5 for christmas for my kids. As soon as I finished that, Realmuto hit his homerun. Robertson nearly let it all go in the toilet, but didnt.

Great sequence of events. I was up even though I dont follow baseball. Whoever slept, as well as those who were saying the game was over, should turn in their fan cards to @downundermike.

Do you really think Robertson let that happen, or were the Astros incredibly lucky with two "flares” that fell in the natural gaps in the defense?

Nevermind. Dad just bought us tickets. Section 203. They any good? Haven't been in 15 years.

False equivalent. Sagging boobs are the problem … and the number of years where they are sagging compared to the number of years they aren’t sagging.

Just saying Robertson gave up a double to bregman that hit off the wall over Schwarber’s glove and walked gurriel then threw a wild pitch to move both runners over to 3rd and 2nd. He wasn’t the one that gave up two flares. Dominguez nearly did. Marsh talked about it after the game he took a step back on altuve’s hit cause of how it sounded otherwise he likely would’ve made the catch and the castellanos made a hell of a catch on a flare.

I think the most ridiculous thing in baseball is they let teams build different stadiums/fields with different field dimensions. That Astros wall is terrible.

I couldn't blame him for throwing junk to Gurriel.  That made sense to me.

Interested in your thoughts about tonight's matchup.

That place looked built like a matchbox.  Big difference with the old Astrodome.  I think they built their club with an emphasis on taking advantage.  I was shocked when Suarez came in to pitch in middle relief-but I realized he gives them extra depth to pitch with  Alvarado against Alvarez & Tucker.  Likely go with RH starters for the entirety of the Series.

I was going to say his pass protection is as bad as the guys the Eagles currently have. The biggest issue the Eagles have with the running backs now is none of them are very good at pass protection. The appeal of Kareem Hunt is he can run well, he’s a good receiver, and his pass protection is good. That’s why i think hunt is really the guy they should and are going to go after especially if it’s going to cost something like a midround pick.

I want a safety but think Hunt would be helpful.  Frankly a perfect fit for us.  Pass pro first and can run and catch.  If the price is right that would be a good pickup.

Penn State lmao

You are right. I had my innings mixed up. Bergman’s was a solid hit.  I felt he and JT got a little too "fine” on the pitches. Could (should?) have gone at the batter more rather than nibbling.

I’m guessing it’s a low scoring game. I’d argue Valdez’s stuff is as good if not better than verlander’s at this stage of their careers. Which is impressive as verlander was phenomenal during the regular season. Plus he’s a lefty so I’m guessing vierling is starting for marsh today. And a chance stott is out for sosa. Valdez had a streak of 25 consecutive quality starts this year. Granted his last 3 starts of the regular season he had a 5.74 Era. And his first two starts of the postseason he was still good but not unhittable. I’m guessing whoever gets to 3 runs is going to win this game.

watching the Phillies pretty much all season when they acquired Robertson he was really good with the Cubs. His role wasn’t supposed to be what it is now if knebel stayed healthy. He’s likely not going to be 7-9 innings in the playoffs. Likely the guy in the 5-6 inning to bridge to those 3 ( knebel, Alvarado and Domínguez all healthy). When he got here,  he was just wild at times and others looked great. His consistency nightly isn’t always there. I do wonder if his calf is still bothering him. Add on he really never should be used on back to backs. He’s just bad when they do that.

I’d like a safety cause i don’t like our depth behind our two starters. But i think the quality and price at the rb is probably much better than the safety market.
