EMB Blog: 2022 Regular Season (and beyond?) - NO POLITICS

I hate the Cowboys as much as anyone. If Jerry Jones calls me up tomorrow and says he’s gonna pay me $5 million to play for Dallas for one season, I’m on the next flight down to Texas.

I’m 45 years old, out of shape, and never played football in my life. I’d suck at any position they put me at, and that can help the Birds. It’s a win win all the way around.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

This is a job for players, and they are loyal to one thing, the almighty dollar.

I believe saltine is fine, but cracker is not.
"Cracker," the old standby of Anglo insults was first noted in the mid 18th century, making it older than the United States itself. It was used to refer to poor whites, particularly those inhabiting the frontier regions of Maryland, Virginia and Georgia. It is suspected that it was a shortened version of "whip-cracker," since the manual labor they did involved driving livestock with a whip (not to mention the other brutal arenas where those skills were employed.) Over the course of time it came to represent a person of lower caste or criminal disposition, (in some instances, was used in reference to bandits and other lawless folk.)

Maybe the stipulation is based on the number of balls dropped. 🤔

Looking forward to the development of a strong draft class.

Mailata scores on a designed running play.

You put Cam Jurgens on the field.   When Cam Jurgens is on the field,  that allows a lot of different things to happen.  If Jurgens plays OL,  that means that Kelce or Mailata or whatever OL you want,  becomes eligible.

I think that Jurgens is one of the best 11 on offense, and I'd want to see him out there.  If they put him out there,  that makes it a lot easier for the wild predictions about Kelce and Mailata to come true.

Espn had Cam Jurgens as the 4th best Tight End coming out of High School.

The Eagles have a great OL,  with great backups like Jurgens.   The skill position players are a bit on the light side, overall.  But if Jurgens is in there,  that is no longer true.   The Eagles have freakbeasts that can carry the ball and block great.   Also Jordan Davis.

You’d still end up with more catches than Raegor

I’ll bet I could.

Cousins could be a 4-5K yard passer in their new offense. Now whether Reagor accounts for anything significant is another story. He’s at best their WR4, and at best their 6th receiving option absent of injuries.

Or the number of stupid tweets 🤣

Point 4 of the pinned guidelines updated, quoted below.  This is only an issue (like most) because of you children in this blog.  I'm done with trying to be lenient and giving unofficial warnings, you're ruining it for the others and we don't have complaints in any other part of the EMB.  You guys know the guidelines, you're just going to get warnings and suspensions.  You guys used to think of yourselves as enlightened above stupid TATERS, but so much drama and nonsense and reporting each other all the time.  Enough.

If someone is bothering you: either don't reply, put them on ignore or tell them to stop.  If it continues, report them.  If you put someone on ignore, do not talk about them or instigate.  If you are put on ignore, do not ask others to quote your posts specifically so that person will see your post.  However, naturally you might see posts from someone you have on ignore from normal quoting.

Added an edit but you had already quoted, just to keep it straight. B-)

As much as I appreciate what Peters did for us I couldn’t care less if and where he plays. Idk why anyone would. He’s a professional athlete and runs his own business that way.

Eagles fans should be hoping the Cowboys sign him. Good for him to get another paycheck and good for the Eagles because he's completely washed at this point as a player.  Ton of miles and injuries on that 40 year old body.  Plus it'd be cool to see him be able to play at 40 and join a group of players in history that can't be that big.

Any chance he lines up opposite Davis? I’d love to see that.

how nerdy is the press to keep asking about his trash talk.  We get it, he talks trash.

Sounds like Boobie Miles talking about playing football.

Whatever the threshold is, he isn't hitting it.  I can't see him bring anything but a disappointment for them.  I looked at the Vikings reddit today and a bunch of the fans are excited thinking they got a punt returner.  They have no clue what's coming.

We could have a 4th rounder after OTAs.

That seemed like an insane ask before the Reagor trade broke.

I think this thread will be better when we can all direct our hate towards the Lions or whatever team we’re playing.

Can we use the p word in here? WTF? How will it be possible to stop a QB? Just pretend to be throwing all the time.

Like your general thinking here. Andy was all about surprise em, didn't see that coming kinda thing.

Wasn't afraid to throw a twist in there now and again.

We've gotten away from that.

With the powerhouse O lineman currently deployed, a Jumbo Package might just be a thing.

I did predict a Mailata TD on a designed running play. Hope it comes true. :smoke:

Calling it first here. Jordan Davis will be part of the goal line package.

Uhhhhh, what? How does that make any sense? Players are just going to pretend to throw passes now when they're about to get sacked.

John McMullen has the most dull, unexciting voice in the world. Also, why are they wasting his time with questions on video games? Philly media has gotten pretty bad.

Well technically it is in violation of the NFL Personal Conduct policy but arguably so are all fights in practice.  The policy includes:

Expectations and Standards of Conduct
It is not enough simply to avoid being found guilty of a crime. We are all held to a higher standard and must conduct ourselves in a way that is responsible, promotes the values of the NFL, and is lawful.
Players convicted of a crime or subject to a disposition of a criminal proceeding (as defined in this Policy) are subject to discipline. But even if the conduct does not result in a criminal conviction, players found to have engaged in any of the following conduct will be subject to discipline. Prohibited conduct includes but is not limited to the following:
 Actual or threatened physical violence against another person, including dating violence, domestic violence, child abuse, and other forms of family violence;
 Assault and/or battery, including sexual assault or other sex offenses;
 Violent or threatening behavior toward another employee or a third party in any workplace
setting;

 Stalking, harassment, or similar forms of intimidation;
 Illegal possession of a gun or other weapon (such as explosives, toxic substances, and the like), or possession of a gun or other weapon in any workplace setting;
 Illegal possession, use, or distribution of alcohol or drugs;
 Possession, use, or distribution of steroids or other performance enhancing substances;
 Crimes involving cruelty to animals as defined by state or federal law;
 Crimes of dishonesty such as blackmail, extortion, fraud, money laundering, or racketeering;
 Theft-related crimes such as burglary, robbery, or larceny;
 Disorderly conduct;
 Crimes against law enforcement, such as obstruction, resisting arrest, or harming a police officer or other law enforcement officer;
 Conduct that poses a genuine danger to the safety and well-being of another person; and
 Conduct that undermines or puts at risk the integrity of the NFL, NFL clubs, or NFL personnel.

Now, we haven’t heard the NFL say absolutely they can’t take action, rather that they will leave it to the clubs.  But the NFL has stepped in for incidents in the past where they thought the penalty was not sufficient. We don’t know what fines or lost guarantees Donald may have lost. By the same token, overstepping gets a challenge of individual bias.  I don’t think the Eagles fined any of their players that fought in TC. Now swinging helmets is pretty egregious. But in honesty, getting hit by a helmet swung by Donald might not hurt much more than getting hit by one of his fists.  Finally, there were other players fighting, not just Donald so what do they do to them. My guess is that if there was punishment that it probably won’t be revealed.  Could be that he is on double secret probation.
