I can't believe anyone hasn't asked these pertinent questions - standards seem to be slipping.

Is the au pair female, and can we have conformational pics? 😉

All joking aside, I don't see a backup S being traded for - they will more likely elevate Chachere from the PS than trade for one as he knows the system and has playing time in it.  Or utilise Blankenship more in certain packages.

New here?

We already heard everything were going to hear unless something gets leaked.

The reporters know not to ask anything about injuries on Sunday, I wouldn't be surprised if a milk toast (bland) answer was given yesterday - but I hadn't heard.

Pick 95 is the latest non-conditional 3 this year.

So potentially 13-16 slots (as Minnesota is picking around 93rd right now and lions top pick in the 4th… granted the 3rd and 4th round swap is for 2024 just using it this year as a point) is not enough value for me trading away two 4ths in this deal. My personal belief is usually around 80 to about 125 the players are all closely graded in that area teams have different evaluations so someone taken at 89 Might not be in their top 100 whereas a player they select at 107 might be. unless someone significantly falls. And if you’re picking where the lions are gonna be picking in the fourth round which is top 2 pick, there’s a good chance they have players inside their top 100 there.

if you’re going to tell me, they’re gonna trade up and get a quarterback first they’re picking no. 1 overall right now. So they might not have to do that. And if they wind up the picking at two with the Texans at 1, the Texans might not wanna trade with you because they need a quarterback. on the third round pick they got is actually considered more like a fourth round pick because it’s a year from now in 2024 like their 4th is considered more like a 5th. So it has actually less value then third round pick would be in 2023.

my problem is if I’m the lions I’m not including any picks in that deal to begin with. I’m giving up a young, cheap for the next 1.5 years and good upside player in hockenson. Why am i giving up anything of my draft capital? I’d have asked for a 2nd and a future 3rd which the value is considered more of a 4 cause it’s in a future draft. I think 2nd and value of the future 3rd is reasonable for hockenson at his age, price and upside and trading within the division

It was.

They have been worse than ever before with saying anything about injuries.

Apparently his knee is bothering him now lol. It feels like he just doesn’t want to play and finding ways to not have too due to the criticism he receives almost every game.

Interesting that even though we have an effective offense, we still punt more than half the league because we don't turn the ball over.

Drives should end with kicks.  (You'll find Thursday's opponent towards the bottom.)

Love the bolded observation.

It also affects the punting because the field position at the time of the punt leaves a short field to punt into.  The Eagles are 5th in the NFL in terms of percentage of punts Inside the 20 ... 50%.  The league average is 37.6%.

This is why I missed the antics yesterday.  It took a very long time to build this.

Further...

Per Football Outsiders, our defense has the best starting field position so far.  Averaging inside the opponent's 25 yard line.

Hockenson is not a tier 3 TE.

Tier 1 - Kelce, Andrews, Kittle

Tier 2 - Goedert, Hockenson, Ertz, Pitts

Tier 3 - Gesicki, Njoku, Freiermuth,

Goedert is clearly Tier 1 if you have Andrews and Kittle there

Kelce is on another level because of his receiving but Andrews and Kittle have nothing on Goedert except for targets

Finally....the guy is not a good coach and never deserved it in the first place.

Speaking of firings, it seems like Dan Campbell will be shown the door any week now.  I'd like to see Duce Staley get promoted and see what he can do as a HC.

Perhaps a McLeod and Hines package together.

I'd be 100% on board with this, compensation depending of course. I think both would be a help here. McLeod as the 3rd S to me is where he should be at this point in his career, and I've always liked Hines.

Anyone see an explanation why Nakobe Dean still isn't seeing any defensive snaps even when starters were pulled in the Steelers game?

Love this.  Is there a site where this graphic is updated week to week?

Andrews functions with no legitimate weapons at WR.  Kittle has done the same.

Don't be a homer, Goedert can get to that level, but he is not there yet, and targets is a lame excuse.

Do NOT want this.

They didn't pull starters on D. Edwards played 99%

Never heard this before. Another thing that doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

Also @paco this seems to suggest it was a restructure and not a handshake deal to knock off the last two years, but I guess he still doesn't qualify for a comp pick.

Correct.  The base salary was lowered by the bears and we have seen the last two years voided.  When a team and a player agree to void the final year(s) of a contract, it counts as a cut from a comp pick calculation perspective.

That little provision I was unaware of before the Quinn trade.

Tbh looking at cooks contract, the cowboys should’ve just kept cooper and reworked his contact for what they got for him considering what it’s going to cost compensation wise and paying cooks the next couple years on his contract.

I’ve been calling for them to do something like this for the past few weeks now against teams selling out against the QB sneak that they telegraph. This probably goes for a TD if Miles hits the hole.
