Break out my 1977 throw back power blue cap to align with the team

Continue rocking my Red earflap cap that has been on my noggin for the entire playoffs.

Don't change it up. Keep the red going.

If this is true, wtf are the Texans doing? Cooks is pushing 30 and they have no chance, and they're coming off one of their best drafts in years.

Was listening to Sheil’s podcast and he had an interesting stat. Hurts is completing 50 percent of his throws 20 or more yards downfield, good for fourth in the NFL. League average is 30 percent.

AJ Brown is receiving so many of those and the way he plays to ball is a huge factor.  One wonders if Hurts recruitment status coming out of Channelview (high school) wasn’t influenced by Brown’s play even back then.

You may think this as semantics, but why are you calling void year charges dead cap?  In my view, they represent different things and should be presented as such.

Dead cap is what is intended to sound like - a bad thing.  We signed a player for X years of performance.  We paid a bonus up front and possibly guaranteed some salary.  That cash went out the door.  Unfortunately, that player is not around for the full length of the contract.  We ended up paying for years that didn't materialize.  That is bad.  'Dead' is a appropriate adjective to describe the cap impact.

Void years are different.  It is an accounting scheme.  For example, we paid Bradberry $7.25 million dollars for one year of service.  That's it.  That was the deal.  We are getting that one year of service.  Bradberry is getting his $7.25M dollars.  We aren't paying for him to play in 2023 because the contract doesn't expect him to.  Spreading out the cap hit is a mechanism to push off the impact.  My analogy is taking advantage of interest-free financing when you buy a couch.  You still get one couch.  The amount of money you are spending doesn't change, just the timing.

Bottom line, void years aren't representative of a waste of money like dead cap is and should be shown separately.

Yeah you don't have to be some financial genius to understand money today is worth more than money in the future. Barring calamity (COVID 19), the cap will continue rising and that 2023 charge for Bradberry, etc. will stay the same.

Example.

Here is Bradberry's contract.  You see the 4 void years.  If he is not on the roster next year, the 3 future void years accelerate to 2023, and then it becomes a dead cap hit of 4.972 million.

Both lol. I’d go with the red just cause it’s been working.

Here's what I have for tomorrow night. I'm fairly certain someone quoted me their prediction but I wasn't at my laptop and I can't find it anymore.

@LeanMeanGM

Maybe the Texans wanted a first or maybe the Cowturds didnt wanna eat his contract?

This is the franchise that guaranteed him $18M base salary next year. Nothing surprises me.

Definitely would want to play the Falcons of all these teams. Would be rooting like hell for the Vikings because I want no part of the Niners.

Wish the Phils played a home Sunday game this series because the blue hat cream colored jerseys are my favorite of their uniforms.

I've seen that.  I get that there a $5M cap hit next year for Bradberry.  I get that we will have over $50M in various charges in 2023 for players that aren't here.

I was making the point that it isn't all wasted money.  Some is.  And some is just a timing scheme.

@LeanMeanGM game prediction for @4for4EaglesNest

Eagles 27

Texans 10

Gainwell has 100+ yards from scrimmate

I have been rocking my cream 2008 WS Utley Jersey since St Louis. My favorite as well.

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles: 24

Texans: 17

Prediction: A loud "LETS GO PHILLIES" chant breaks out and is highlighted by the broadcast team.  Because it may be in Texas but F it, we travel.

Still, dead money IMO is not a good thing.  Eagles future dead money

2023 - 68.6 million

2024 - 52.7 million

2025 - 30 million

Nets already done with Ben lol

He clearly needs to go to some wasteland of a team like Sacramento where there is no spotlight on him or any expectations of contending.  He's as mentally broke as Fultz was. Sending Fultz to a place like Orlando was the best thing for him.

@LeanMeanGM

Eagles 28

I don't really fear the 49ers.  They will likely be among the better teams in the NFC Playoffs but we are still a better team than them.
