If they end up buying him out NBA-style, this will go down as one of the most inept moves in nfl history. They turned down free draft compensation because they were greedy. Now they’ll have to take the cap hit they were avoiding in trade regardless

Yeah the Texans were dumb. No one was gonna give up a 2nd due to his contract next year. They should’ve tried for a 3rd and if that didn’t work a 4th with conditions that could’ve become a 3rd. A main reason Steelers were able to get a second was cause claypool was still cheap on a rookie contract for another 1.5 years. If claypool had cooks contract there’s no way they are getting that.

Because the complaint was how people were acting, now where they were acting like that.

This type of idea is throughout society, you're just upset with it because it doesn't fit your current narrative. We are ok with things being done in some places and not in others regularly, like in my earlier example. It's not hypocrisy, it's a normal thing in life. Football players can tackle people when they are on the field and in pads (expectations) vs tackling people on the street. If you go into those sections there is an unspoken and/or specified understanding that those things are fair game. Just like if I join a sparring match, I expect to hit and be hit, but if someone hits me on the street, I'm likely suing or sending them to jail.
