I loved seeing Sanders with the hard running last night in what turned out to be a tough, physical matchup.  This team looked really complete last night in that type of game.  Really exciting time with the whole team.

Y'know what was a cool play tonight? That two point conversion from the one yard line. They bring in Cam Jurgens as an extra tight end, something they haven't shown at all this year. So the defense has to wonder what's up with that, will he somehow be a pass receiving target? Then he splits out wide, forcing the defense to come with him. Surely they're up to something. But no, it's just window dressing for a quarterback sneak. They just weakened the defensive box. That's what the deception was all about. Cool.

Didn’t realize that Jurgens was brought in, good pickup by you.

Phillies went from feeling like 2017 Eagles to 2001 Eagles real fast. Hard to say disappointed overall, but more so frustrating.

Who won prediction last night?

So the run D is the big topic now…

First question, is there a viable stop gap available until Davis gets back?

Second question, long term, is it worth carrying 2 NTs if our run D is so reliant on the NT?

At this point fletch should be the NT

On the bright side, they are still only two wins away...

If the Astros can win 2 straight in Philly then they can win 2 straight in Houston.  Going to be extremely difficult but it isn't over.  Just feels like they used up all of their juice in game 3.

It will probably be Hargrave. Barrett Brooks made a point that thats what he made his money off of when he played for the Steelers. Also Hargrave is playing lights out the past 2 games. This is the Hargrave we saw the first 5 games of the season last year, just hope he doesnt disappear again.

Trade deadline passed.  So, no.

Long term... yes.

Do we know the nature of Noah Elliss’ injury? Is he out for the season - it would appear so, as he’d be good body for the PS.

Otherwise, I agree - I’m not sure we’ll do much better than Big Marv raiding other teams’ PSs a la Danny Shelton?

He was hurt then. He is better in the attacking 3 tech or isolated over a guard. Put fletch over the center he can eat up blockers at least

Bad news.

I was told they probably won't allow me to bring the rally pumpkin in to the game tonight.

I should have snuck in the rally pumpkin

Bit of an ugly game yesterday.  Pierce is a fun runner to watch, just not when he is playing our team.  But the better team won.  Eagles looked like a group on four days rest that traveled to the game and has its home city baseball team in the World Series.  Nick looked like he hadn’t slept in days.  He will give the team the weekend off to enjoy the Phillies and Union. (No matter what happens the next two games, the Phillies are the reigning National League champion.).

I'm still hesitant to give Hargrave an extension.  We've seen him get hot before but he's incredibly streaky.  Add in his age and giving him big money could handcuff this team.  We have the perfect example in Fletcher Cox.  While he's still an above average DT, he's not worth the money he's making.

Then again, maybe I'm looking at this wrong.  His original contract was 3-years $39 million with cap hits of $3.5, $5.8 and $18 million per year.  This is his highest paid year in his contract to date.  Maybe an extension that looks very similar wouldn't be terrible.  I wouldn't give him any more.  Maybe like a 2-year $24 million contract would be OK?

As much as I want edge rush help, I think Jalen Carter needs to be a serious consideration with the Saints pick, assuming it's still relatively high. Carter is a STUD.

Carter, Davis, Williams, Tuipulotu and a veteran FA would be a seriously stacked IDL group built for the present and future.

Speaking of the Saints, Micheal Thomas is shut down for the season.

I know that Reub gets off on stats like this and I know he's looking at Dan Marino and thinking that's great company.  However, all you need to do is see the name Jared Goff to understand that it's still way too early to crown Hurts.  Hurts is making tremendous improvements, I'm not taking anything away from what he's done this season.  Just showing that sometimes these stats are extremely misleading.

This has been great to see.  Hats off to Jalen and Sirianni for limiting his carries.  Was a little confused why they called a QB run, up by 12 with less than 2 minutes to go however.  Let your RB shoulder the load there.  Don't put Hurts in any situations where he can get injured.  Seemed like a completely unnecessary play that Hurts had to make.

Trying to be optimistic about the World Series.  Sure seemed like every bounce and every crazy play went the way of the Astros last night.  Maybe THAT was their magical game and they are due for a letdown.  There was the play early in the game where the CF/RF didn't communicate and the RF barely made the catch and then the 9th with robbing Realmuto of extra bases and then the play at 1st that saved 2 Phillies runs.   Maybe they used up all of their baseball God luck last night.

It is much better... and I have been breathing much easier.   And no more 8 QB sneak games either.

No way

Snap counts

-Smith leading all WR with snaps and still just the 2 catches.  I've voiced my opinion on this and he needs more catches.  Yes, he snapped back to the fantasy owners but that doesn't change the fact that the Eagles are totally underutilizing how good he is.  Great for Brown and Goedert but damn shame they can't figure out how to get him involved outside of a WR screen.  Smith had fewer catches than Kenny Gainwell and the same amount as Quez Watkins.  Something has to change.

-12 snaps for K'Vonn Wallace?  Sure seemed like he was on the field a lot more than that.  Maybe it's because every snap he's on the field he's getting burnt and you see 42 chasing/missing a play.

-I think Miles Sanders is showing that he can carry the load.  65% seems low for what he can do.  I would much rather see Sanders/Sermon duo with Gainwell mixed in once in a while.  Boston Scott can go on ice.   Give Sanders 75% of the snaps, Sermon 20% and Gainwell the remaining 5%.

-Has Marcus Epps missed a snap yet this year?

-Hasson Reddick playing less than 70% of defensive snaps isn't ideal.  With his contract and the impact he can make on the game, he needs to be out there more than that.

-It was only by a few snaps but Tuipulotu had more snaps than BG and Milton Williams.  Why in the world is that?  BG is older but he needs to be on the field for more than 23 snaps.

-Quinn with 7 snaps.  Let's see how much that increases after a mini bye week.

Why does it seem that this team is leaning on Kenneth Gainwell as their short yardage back now?   He's not that guy.

All’s well that ends well.  Not their A game, but they got the win and a nice mini bye coming up.

The only real concern from this game is that Mailata really needs to clean up his pass pro.

I don't feel as bad about Mailata after Lane struggled with Hughes too. He looked bad on those back to back plays but I think he was otherwise good the rest of the game.

I think the Wallace/Reddick/Quinn mix was a result of Houston running successfully.

Tuipulotu was taking some of Davis' reps.

Does Sermon know how to pass protect?

Last week was a Brown game.  Yesterday was a Goedert game.  If you remember, the first WAS game was a Smith game.
