There is a thread for this, and mod12 is the go to for those issues. Mod 6 is just here for disciplining us.

If the Eagles own draft choice is in the 30s next year and he is on the board still, how would we feel if Howie drafted Bijan Robinson with that pick?  If Howie pulled a deal like he did with the Ravens dropping into the second round and Robinson was available there, would that influence the decision?  Bad year for Robinson given the free agent RB group.

I love bijan. He’s a local kid. Got to meet him when he was in high school and watched him play multiple times. He’s an amazing kid off the field. I’d love to have him. I think he’s likely going to go somewhere from 28-39 range. I could see a team doing what the chiefs did with CEH and taking a back around 28-32 range of the first. The thought process of get him on a back end of the first round rookie deal for 4 years and then the 5th year option added on in the back pocket. Can make a decision afterward on whether to just franchise him for year 6 or move on or extend him.

That happens when you trade away your best defenders at the trading deadline... and you don't have a very good defense to begin with.

Amen.  Beware what you wish for.

Will be interesting if Brady is subject to the personal conduct policy as an equity owner and ambassador.  I doubt it.  After the NFL ignored the Flying J issue and tried to sweep Snydergate under the rug, it seems white collar crime is perfectly fine but young men doing stupid things like drinking too much or driving too fast are unacceptable.  Continue to think the personal conduct approach is skewed.  Maybe it fits our society where we tend to seem more upset about smash and grabs (yes a crime but net stolen is maybe in the low thousands) than Elizabeth Holmes, who defrauded billions of dollars and thinks she should get probation.  Goodell thinks a WR on IR betting hundreds on a gambling site should be suspended for a year but smiles as team owners get in bed with the same gambling organizations.  Part of me hopes the DC AG gets discovery that nails Goodell to the wall.  Not mentioned much because of the focus on Snyder at the last owners meeting, but have to wonder how the owners felt about their "share” of the St. Louis settlement.  Given what came out about what Goodell knew about the land purchase before the move, shouldn’t he be subject to suspension under the personal conduct policy?  That is literally what drove the decision to settle.

If you are drinking too much and then driving too fast... yeah, that's a different level of crime to me too.  White collar crime sucks, but (as an example) what Henry Ruggs did was far more egregious in my mind.

I agree that white collar crimes should be prosecuted more aggressively.   That said, I also think that smash and grabs should be as well.  The white collar crime hurts people.   The smash and grabs also hurt people, and robs the store owners of more than just the goods... it robs them of their sense of safety and welfare in their place of business.  It's why Wawa has closed several stores in Philadelphia recently.  And when businesses like that in those places close down, it hurts everyone around there as well.

So, once again... Mod12 is twice the mod that Mod6 is.    :P

I just did one where the opportunity to double dip at DE was too good to pass up. I got Will Anderson, AND Foskey.

But then I began to regret it because I saw Jared Verse in round 2. And still a bunch of good ones in round 3.

I took your advice and grabbed Verse

thats superb if we can keep the secondary together with our cap dollars.

Problem is that just today, I have now seen Verse in round of a mock. Hes becoming known now, after transferring to FSU from Albany.

Guess where he is from originally. Berwick! Played for Central Columbia in Bloomsburg.

And Here We Go..........The Birds are back after the mini-bye to take on the Commanders again.  NFC BEAST is dominating this season so these Division games are much more important this year.  This time though, Carson won't be playing and will be on the sidelines during his homecoming and it will be Heinicke.  Look the Commanders have actually played pretty good the last 3 weeks.   They've won the first 2 and basically had the Vikings beat if they didn't make mistakes.    I also think their Defense isn't that bad.  With all that said, they are coming to Philly which will be hard for anyone trying to win.    Jalen's Historic Streak begin with Washington.  During these 11 wins, We have played Washington 3 times already.  This will be the 4th.

In those games The Birds scored over 24 Points average while Defense held Washington to 13 Points Average.   I see them scoring a little more because there's just too many matchup issues between AJ, Dallas and Devonta (Who exploded against Washington last game). Also the Commanders have scoring issues this season.   I just don't see them being able to keep up scoring wise.    Also I expect the Defense to force Heinicke into some costly mistakes just like Carson.  So I expect the Defense to keep the same average against them while the O should improve on the 24 points.   Because this is a Divisional Game, I don't expect 40 Burger though that would be nice.  But I do see a 30 Burger.  The Birds are 10-2 over the last 12 VS Washington.   The Eagles are also already 3-0 in Primetime and 4-0 at home    Eagles continue rolling to 9-0.

BIRDS - 34

Commanders - 13

Jalen - Rush TD

AJ - TD

Devonta - TD

Goedert - TD

Jake FG x2

Defense - INT, Multiple Sacks, Fumble recovery

The whole thing was beyond believable to be honest.  All that value plus two 2024 1st Round picks both from bottom half teams ...  I would love to go into 2023 with Gainwell, Gibbs and Corum as the RB corps.  The second Carter might be a flyer, but I like what I read about him..

When Brady (and Giselle) became "brand ambassadors” for FTX, there was an equity acquisition as part of the deal.  As more dirt comes out on FTX and it’s use of customer money through Ambassador, one wonders how long Brady can remain silent on the matter. First the divorce and now FTX to all weigh on TB.   He seems to be able to ignore controversy on the field but cracks showed during his divorce.  One hopes he starts getting peppered with some FTX related questions. I suspect the Bucs win the NFC South but stumble doing it.

If he got paid by stock or FTX bitcoin, he may be a victim just like other investors.  I agree that the Bucs look like favorites at this point.  It's not like they had some dominating win over Seattle.  As much as I would like to think outside issues play a big role, the big problem is their o-line and interior protection.  He just doesn't trust them.

That’s true. Also they’ve had brutal turnovers in 2 of the last 3 games that really killed them. The pick 6 yesterday by fields tied the game up at 24. And against Dallas they got it close then Montgomery fumbled it and it was returned for a touchdown and basically killed any chance as their defense was also killed.

I didn’t say that any criminal matter shouldn’t be prosecuted.  I agree they should and these aren’t victimless crimes for the most point, although many DUIs (.08 is ridiculously low, IMO) and speeding incidents are victimless.  Young men tend to make bad decisions about those sorts of things.

My point was that Goodell doesn’t really punish other matters that I would think would more tarnish the NFL’s reputation (allegedly the basis for the personal conduct policy).  I am much more suspect of the relationships between teams and gambling businesses than Ridley gambling.  More damaging to reputation by disguising the obvious intent to move the St. Louis franchise than suspensions for things like fertility treatments for players.  More damaging to reputation the Flying J defrauding than Josh Gordon’s substance abuse issue.  If things were fair from the St. Louis settlement, Goodell and several NFL corporate folks should be suspended and fined.  If I were Jeff Lurie writing a 8 figure check for that settlement, I would be pissed.  No way the NFLPA let’s that be deducted from the salary pool.

Just curious, did your business penalize DUIs or speeding tickets?  Mine did for customers with premium increases and in the case of DUIs, driver exclusions on commercial auto policies some times (pretty rare as most were fleet rated).  But for our own employees, driving record only impacted if they were afforded a company car, something that seems pretty constant across the business world. It had no suspensions or fines involved unless a company policy was violated, drinking and driving the company’s vehicles. Heck what about Bud backing up the buy a beer comment (bet on the team, almost)?  But then again, I think it is ridiculous that the greatest single hitter is not in the HOF for betting on his team to win.

Brady was a brand ambassador.  As a spokesman pitching the business, he has a bit of responsibility for selling snake oil.  I will take anything that gets just a little in his head.  Right now the Wild Card is Seattle hosting the cowpads, Tampa hosting the giants and the Vikings hosting the 49ers.

That Vikings 49ers game is pretty amazing matchup as a 2 vs. 7.

Yeah said he’s gonna miss some time. If he doesn’t go on IR I’m guessing 2 maybe 3 weeks

Can't wait to get through tonight, next week is the real test.
