Alim McNeill ..... they have comparable career stats in sacks, tackles, TFL, etc.  Milton has a slight overall advantage, and McNeill plays almost twice as many snaps.

If Eagles fans aren't happy with Williams, they sure wouldn't be happy with McNeill either.

Different style of player.  Alim is a true 2 gapper.  So, his job is to eat blocks and let the Lbs get to the ball.   @ManuManu is correct though.  McNeill and Davis would be redundant.   Adding McNeill likely means not adding Davis.  Either way, the Eagles need a backup NT.  Right now, they don't have one... and it shows.

Frankly, there's a chance.  Indy can run the ball.   GB just ran the ball effectively on Dallas.  Tenn can run on anyone with Henry.  NYG have Barkley.

Long story short... if they don't get the run defense figured out and they let teams run the ball like Washington did... then yeah, it is very conceivable that they will not do great in the next 4.

Indy is like 28th in rushing this year.  They have an awful o-line.  This should be an easy win.  GB, Tenn and Giants will be tougher games. The key is going to be getting ahead of them.  I do think Davis may be back against the Titans which should make a difference.  I think the key is that the fundamentally Gannon calls a defense like the Eagles always have the lead.   The Eagles should be good if they get the leads in these games.

I'm not sure about that, but you're most likely right. McNeill has about 40-50 lbs on Williams and can play NT. I know I'm speaking in hindsight, but he could have been valuable in Davis's absence.

Washington averaged 3.9 ypc coming in to the game against the Eagles.  Colts average 4.1.  Washington has Gibson and Robinson.  Colts have Taylor.  I fear the Colts' rushing attack more than Washington's.   And with Saturday at HC now, I think they will lean hard on the running game even more than before.  OL love to run the ball.

They have a pretty good defense and they're playing at home. Until Gannon adjusts his scheme in Davis's absence, I don't think any game will be easy especially if teams keep the Eagles offense off the field.

How effective is our run blitz.  Can’t recall if we used it Monday night.

Wtf is a run blitz? Gannon doesn't have that on his playsheet.

Not sure if this has really been talked about, but Milton Williams isn't all that great. Not terrible, just kinda meh. We definitely need some DL in this draft.

I thought he would be improved this season because he would have had a full offseason to build strength. He really has not flashed at all.  I would like them to move on from Cox and Hargrave.  Hargrave is just going to be too expensive and a gamble. I would rather they move on a year early than too late.  I imagine the Eagles will be targeting Bresee, Jalen Carter and Ika.  I also would like them to consider going after Da'Ron Payne.  Payne isn't an interior pressure defender but he's stout against the run.  I think Cox has really contributed to the run defense woes because he's getting moved off the ball easily.  If you put Payne in his spot alongside Davis, you can rely on outside pressure from the OLBs and have Edwards/Dean cleaning up runs.

I think run blitz is part of it but it's as much about numbers in the box.

This, but also this game screams conservative offense to me. I can see us going into this game and having the same type of game we had vs Cardinals. Without Goedert there I feel like Shane is going to go bubble screen heavy. I can see us not taking any shots deep and protecting Hurts by getting the ball out quick with only 3 or 4 passes past 10 yards.

I realize Goedert has been a stud, but I wonder if his absence will help the offense to unlock a new dimension. Quez is under-utilized and Smith needs more downfield routes and targets.  They may push to those targets and areas of the field more aggressively without that possession underneath safety net that Goedert provides.

In this offense, Brown is the #1 and Goedert is the #2, with Smith as the #3.  And I’m not sure that’s actually what will carry them to their fullest potential.

Gannon needs to tighten up his playcalling especially on 3rd down.  He was atrocious in the first half and not much better in the second. Looking at that game, however, if the offense doesn't commit those turnovers the team likely wins pretty easily.  No team is a sure win in the NFL.    I think the Colts aren't a walkover but the Eagles are the better team.  They should be able to get pressure on Ryan and stop the run.

Probably true.   Monday night was almost a case of if something can go wrong, it will go wrong.

Eagles are a better team.  But, better teams lose games in the NFL regularly.  Its why there's only ever been one undefeated team.

I wouldn't mind if they focused on running the ball.  I think they will still have some deep shots to call.  It's not like Indy has the most intimidating secondary.

I agree.  If they come in unfocused and unprepared, they can lose this game.  I expect Steichen and Sirianni to have the offense ready and be aggressive.  I am not so sure about Gannon.

Colts beat a raiders team thats in shambles with an emotional surge for the new coach.

their OL is weak this year

Paschal has also shown potential.  I don't think he's a gamebreaking WR but he's shown more RAC than I expected.  My fear is they will try to force things to Gainwell.

Random question

How many INT's does CJGJ need to be on DPOY conversation?

Stephon Gilmore had 6 INT's and Zero sacks, with 2 Touchdowns(chandler jones has 19 sacks that year)

Woodson had 9INT's, 3 sacks, 3 Touchdowns

They better extend him soon before he locks up that award

Source: Eight teams - Las Vegas, Detroit, Carolina, Indianapolis, San Francisco, New York Jets, New York Giants, and Kansas City - put in waiver claims for former Chargers’ first-round pick Jerry Tillery, who was assigned to the Raiders.
