This probably isn't the appropriate place to discuss it so I'll try to make it as  brief as possie but to answer your question what does religion have to do with it?

A lot actually

There is underlying sometimes overt belief in Christian religions throughout history where christians believe they are special, or favored by God, and better than non Christians or gentiles...

Not throughout history.  In fact, there was dispute amongst the apostles if one must be Jewish first before becoming Christian.  The religious histories of the world are fascinating studies.  Heck, just the Semitic or Abrahamic religions histories are pretty interesting studies. Sorry, that’s just the historian in me reacting to what I believe is a limited view statement. I won’t expand further.

I don’t know what, if any, his upbringing, religious and otherwise, impacted the person that Zach Wilson has become.  My reaction is based solely on his presentation through the media, the apparent reaction to him by teammates and the fact the coaches just benched him for the Bears game.

Well, Westlake is pretty affluent, some real nice houses, and one reason it incorporated was to keep the riff raff from Austin out.

Though Westlake is a HS football power, so they have to recruit the children of the hoi polloi. Someone has to block and catch passes for those rich kid QBs.

Fundamentalist Christians are a different breed, I know that from personal experience, the problem is many acting out of sincere conviction, believe they have to save us heathens (not by accident there's a great Austin band called "Band of Heathens"), which can become a tad bit irritating. Takes time out in the real world for them to learn that interacting with other people means at least pretending to respect their beliefs.

I called Westlake upper middle class, which tends towards "affluent”.   BTW, the QB at Westlake is the #1 QB recruit in the nation.

My  historical religious view may not be as expansive as yours but I guarantee my knowledge of Utah Mormon culture is.

A great many atrocities throughout time have been committed in the name of Christ...☹️

Whacko for Flacco

It's funny the NFL thinks it has a better chance of changing a bazooka-armed guy's entire personality than equipping a high character, average-armed QB with skills to uplift his game.

I probably did it wrong (the fish wants to eat the bigger number).

I was looking to buy the record for this, until I saw it was $75 plus $15 for shipping. I know the proceeds go to charity, but that's pretty steep.

Players like Zach Wilson and Trey Lance are why Carson Wentz gets traded for a 1, then a couple of 3rds. If you have a QB, it's so valuable. This also explains why it makes sense to draft QBs often so you're never "stuck".

According to @Bacarty2this must really upset the Jets locker room. They love him.

Yep.  Not that difficult to comprehend.  😎

And for what it’s worth, I think the jury is still out on both Wilson & Lance.  QB’s can take years to develop into NFL QB’s.  And sometimes QB’s need "QB whisperer” type coaches to get them there.

True "first round pick” Zach Wilson is a bust

Like Hurts last year?

Yes I think it’s very obvious RTK is a racist troll

It’s been a fun tournament. Still like it better in the summer but great nonetheless. Best sporting event in the world by far.

I also normally prefer my major sporting events without the flagrant sports-washing and human rights abuses but yeah, the actual games are fun.

I watched "FIFA Uncovered" on Netflix. Man. What a ish-show with all that corruption.

Not what I said. Not even close. But keep trying to speak as if your in the Jets Locker room

White Boi who leans on his defense and running game  in his " rookie season  "= Bust

Hurts who leaned on his defense and running game his "rookie season" =  Greatest thing since slice bread

Hurts last year wasn't very good at passing but at least he was very dangerous running the ball making plays that way.  Wilson you can't say he is dangerous at anything.

Maybe he can be better elsewhere but who knows.

Yikes.

You made a whole post about why he isn't hated in the Jets Locker room because of some unrelated to football offseason story.

Jalen has shown clear improvement from year one to year two and now again from year two to year three.  Zach Wilson has shown no improvement from year one into year two.  Also Hurts has played a contributing role to the Eagles wins over the course of his career meanwhile Wilson has not played a contributing factor in the Jets wins.  He's been by far the worst QB in the NFL this year.
