For starters he hasn't proven crap yet in the playoffs. SImmons helped the 76ers make them for years, so that is a worthless stat to a degree. We'll see how he does this year.

The guy we saw at times vs Indy is still who he is. Yeah, his legs carry him, but just like against Dallas when a team stops the run and he has to throw he's got major problems. It's a mistake to give 40-50 million of their salary to him before he proves it when it matters. I'd say getting homefield and winning one game wouldn't even do it for me. If he makes the Super Bowl, we can talk. Until then don't make the same mistake they did with Wentz, who arguably looked like a much better QB the Super Bowl year than Hurts does now before he went to total crap. As an MVP Hurts may be playing better than he did, but not as a throwing QB.

The problem with this is, you can’t make moves based on the fact that the QB MIGHT ish the bed like the last one did. Hurts has shown massive improvement. And has us with the best schedule in the league. I think we’re gonna be riding with him for quite a while, as we should at this point. One and done in the playoffs wouldn’t do it for me either, but you can’t go drafting a QB the way Hurts has played

You realize the playoffs aren't right arounde he corner right?  There are 6 games remaining in the season after this week.  That's a third of the season.  He will have time to get back to his old self.  Unless he ends up being completely washed then he will no doubt be a beneficial addition to their offense come playoff time.

You do realize there a lot of question marks with this dude right? And his latest reported antics. He had a half a good season in a few years & is now coming off an ACL. I wouldn't expect much here. Cowboys would be silly to sign him. But please do so Jerry! 🤭

Lol

Damn you Falcons.

The Falcons falconed. WOW.

Also, 40-50 million isn't a discount. They can afford to wait and see until they have to pay him.

This isn't basketball.  The great QBs in this league are the ones who are consistently getting their teams to the playoffs year in and year out.  Jalen is looking like one of those QBs based on the early results.  What are you talking about the Indy game?  He didn't have a bad passing game.  Jalen was the reason offensively why we won that game.  Also not sure what you are talking about with the Cowboys game either.  Jalen played well in that game.  Lane got a concussion in the second half and then Driscoll offered no resistance at all to Parsons and that's what impacted our offense in the 3rd quarter of that game.

There is no reason to expect to get a discount on Hurts.  What you can do is beat the market rate for QB before it goes up again.  You either move quick and sign him at the current market rate or you do what the Cowboys did with Dak and drag your feet as the market rate continues to rise before you finally extend him.  Waiting accomplishes nothing but makes you pay more in the long run.

NFC East continues to win

The only downside to signing him is long term if he is requiring a multi-year deal and the Cowboys give him one.  But for this season there is only potential upside.

@RememberTheKoy Please don't quote the anti-Hurts bros in the Eagles blog.

Keep them in the Hurts thread.

Ugh, looks like we might be having to face the Titans coming off of a loss which is not desirable.

And they did it again lol

Who cares?

Washington will have 2 wins because of roughing calls and lucky bounces. Incredible.

Browns about to tie the Bucs.

Hell of a catch by Njoku

That was the weakest running into the kicker penalty I've seen

Saints are in last place aftet Carolina’s win

Wow what a catch by David njoku

Brady with 3 timeouts and 30 seconds in a tie game.  Could be some more Brady magic coming up.

Higgins is insane

Yeah but it's clear he is not coming for chump change and minimum vets salary equivalent like Suh & Joseph did for a short term deal. He's trying to leverage some desperate football team right now and get paid. Will see if someone bites. I wouldn't. Yeah for a couple million bux I'm  sure alot of teams would take a flyer on a short term deal.

If Hurts is willing to take a discount to win, then I think you play ball with him long term.  If he wants to max out his earnings, then I don't think they'll be a perennial contender as currently constructed.

What we need with Hurts is a reasonable contract and the purchase for him of a Matress Mack SuperBowl win bet at whatever the odds are for a SB win each year.  Mattress Mack got 7.5 to 1 odds on the Astros.  I suspect the odds on an Eagles SB win at the beginning of each season would be better than that.  Right nowwith a 9-1 record the Eagles odds ar 6.5 to 1.

Eye in the Sky rules all.

Add in Eye in the Sky replay and only keep penalties with actual violence. (like the Goedert facemask assault)

Take away all incidental contact penalties like the joke that ended the Eagles - DC game.

Its either really about player safety or its about the refs.

Always better to face a good team when they are coming off a win than coming off a loss. Loss tends to refocus a team and good teams are less likely to to string together consecutive losses especially at this stage of the season.
