howd it do?

That’s for this upcoming season and this current baseball season. Currently looks like Astros are favorite in the AL and it’s either Mets or dodgers in NL (did this same bet but flipped dodgers for Mets). The rest besides the rams are odd on favorites to win their conference.

Young: 18/28 195 yards 5 TDs.

Richardson: 17/24 168 yards 2 PTC, 11 car 104 yards 3 TDs.

Stroud: 24/34 223 yards and 2 TDs.

McKee: 22/27 308 yards 3 TDs and 1 INT.

Young and McKee were playing against pop warner talent but still.

No love for Stetson Bennett?   25/31 368 yards 2 TDs.

He played better stat wise and played a top 11 team.

Or, the Eagles traded:

-2016 1st, pick 8

-2016 3rd

-2016 4th

-2017 1st

-2018 1st

-2019 2d

-2020 1st

for

- 2023 1st round pick

-2024 2nd round pick

- Trade up ammo for DeVonta Smith (3rd rnd pick)

- Trade ammo for AJ Brown (3rd rnd pick)

- Chauncey Gardner-Johnson - 2025 7th rnd pick

I look at this as a loss. Anytime you have 4 1st round picks out and only 1 coming back.  That’s not good.

The original picks traded for Wentz netted a Super Bowl.  No way they win it without the 10-2 start he got them to.  Foles wasn’t capable of doing that work over a full season.

I get that.   I the comparison is draft capital in vs out though.  It’s completely lopsided.

Who knows what howie will do with these picks.

One More Week and the Journey Begins.  I just watched the Highlights from last year Halloween showdown of The Birds Vs Lions.  They dominated on both sides of the ball.  Love the score of 44-6.   As we approach week 1.  It's a new year and we can't take them for granted.   This was the game that turned around the season last year.   They have to start strong and fast this year.   Another Forty Burger would be nice.   But just dominate again.   We can't expect the same Lions team.   We also have to take what worked and continue to evolve it.  Everyone expects us to Run now.    But the weapons on the outside with AJ, Devonta, Dallas etc are really strong.   I don't expect them to overlook the Lions.    Everyone is 0-0 on week one regardless of how we look on paper.

We don't know a lot. Most of the guys mentioned didn't play a snap for the Eagles yet.  There's no guarantee how any will produce. But people love to do the this pick turned into X thing.

Nope.  I believe the term you are looking for is 'mercenary'.  It's fine.  He's cooked anyway.  Let him play for Dallas.   He's in it for the paycheck.  That's fine.

I heard an interview with a Dallas beat writer yesterday who said they might have Peters on the practice squad Week 1, depending on what kind of shape he’s in, then work him in as their swing OT.

Man, that might be an even worse idea than running him out there at LT.

Why exactly is that a bad idea from their perspective?

We learned this in 2020 when he asked for a pay increase to go from G to T when Dillard got hurt.

NFL Week 0 sucks

Peters can still play, though not at a high level, but he's still better than most of the alternatives at LT.

Problem is what is the over/under for him to go on IR?

Also means his contract is not guaranteed.
