Yikes. Not at all what I would have expected off replay.

Ugh. That hurts.

A 4 to 6 week injury in real life, so I'm guessing they'll IR him for 4 weeks, then see where the team is at for the final two games. Here's the thing, you know Chauncey wants to be back in 5 weeks for the Saints game.

Wow.   How?   He took the hit more to the front and side of his body, not the back?    @HazletonEagle  @ManuManu   What could lacerate the kidney if not a direct shot?

Zach Ertz should not have played in that game, even if it didn't up costing him.

Our next 3 games: Titans, @ Giants, @ Bears. I would hold out CGJ for all 3 games and hope he's good for game #4 at Dallas.

Defense now down 3 starters…hope these guys are healthy for the playoffs

I would guess that the easy choice would be to put him on IR and eliminate the temptation to come back sooner than 4 weeks... and that gives him 2 games to get back into the swing of things before the playoffs.    BUT... who knows how long a recovery that really would be?    And what damage can be done by returning too soon?

JD and Maddox should be returning to active roster within the next 2-3 weeks max, if not sooner.

FYI:

Foles won the only SB here for this team (so far, lets hope) It was kind of a big deal. We had countless discussions in the past where the ignorant claimed he was a bad QB because 2015 is the only thing that really counts and all the good games were flukes. Man, they loved that word. People like me saw the possibility of Foles playing well in those 2017 playoffs because of his entire career and the context of that career, including trying to throw to 8th overall pick Tavon Austin instead of an actual NFL receiver for one example.

When people say things like Foles sucked when he was not on the Eagles between 2014 and 2017, I just remember things that came up in the past like the 8 playoff teams in 11 games. Its just having a sharper recall and having done some actual research in the past. You can point to the collarbone in Jacksonville (and that he led them to the same points as Minshew over the same play time late in that season) You can point to the Bears having no run game in his bad stretch in 2020 (60 yards a game average). Its either bad vapors in the air, he has multiple personalities, or he was in some really bad situations. It would be tough to figure out if you did not have 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2021 for comparison.

None of that makes him Joe Montana but they are clear and obvious factors on why he struggled. The difficulty level was spiked and his teams were bad.

When the difficulty level was spiked and his teams were good to very good, he was amazing  (as 11-2 in must win games showed)

Poo flinging monkeys can insult me for being less ignorant than they are. They act as if I am somehow obsessive for remembering past discussions yet they live on here to insult people all day 24/7. As always, insults from morons who can't understand complexity are actually compliments.

TLDNR for people who are insulted by too many words.

The stance of the moron is the following:

Foles sucks, Philly was a fluke, and no excuses are permitted... and also, Pinkston and Thrash means McNabb is HoF !

This is the easiest way to describe it. I assumed based on video that it might have been an upper rib injury.

Remember when the dude who threw his GF on a pile of guns from Carolina was not an issue either?

Greg Hardy? Man, he was awesome in Dallas and not a distraction at all.

So... likely a fractured rib AND lacerated kidney.    Thanks.     BTW... are those kidneys to scale?     I've only ever seen poultry kidneys and never realized human kidneys were that big.

@MrGreenBay.  This is why we hate the Dallas Cowboys.  As a football team these days, they aren't really worth noting at all.  They are pretty mediocre and continue to be so... basically, like the Lions only with a better PR team.

But, their owner continues to bring in the trash of the NFL and act like they shouldn't be blackballed from the league for their conduct (especially with the ones that have expressed zero remorse), let alone being in prison (like Hardy, for example).

Damn. I think it was @LeanMeanGM that thought it might've been a kidney injury. Good call by him, hopefully CJGJ is back soon.

@Iggles_Phan I'm kind of surprised that they have not tried to sign Antonio Brown yet.

You can live without one kidney too I believe.

Severity of the injury and duration of CJGJ's absence depends on the grade of the kidney injury so with further testing ongoing any projection on his timeline is kinda premature.  It's reassuring that they don't think it will require surgery as far as a "shut down for the year" POV at least.
