That kinda makes sense buts he’s been a free agent twice now in the last year and doesn’t seem to have that much of a market. I guess his agent has heard something we didn’t.

Marcus Maye replacement for his upcoming suspension?

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

Open spot on the practice squad.

Howie will sign Matt Araiza for the PS, he will be on the active roster by week 4. 😇

Eagles did right by Harris. If he was on PS then a team would have to commit to keeping him on roster for 4 weeks if they signed him after week 1.

@FranklinFldEBUpper Is it just me or do the ST seem to be a huge question mark going into the season?

I think Elliott is good (not great) and I don’t think Siposs will be nearly as bad as most Eagles fans seem to think. I’m skeptical about our coverage units across the board. Kickoff return will probably be uninspiring. Watkins, Gainwell, and Scott have experience, but none of them are particularly good. Punt return is a question mark, but I’m weirdly optimistic about Covey, who I assume will be activated this week.

So yeah, there are a lot of questions. Last year was so bad that it made me question our new ST coach.

Beyond the political stuff (which the NYT has curtailed since they bought the Athletic), it’s his incessant need to interrupt his co-hosts with dad jokes, puns and non sequiturs.

I still listen every week since I spend so much time in the car, but I find myself skipping through segments and turning the show off early.

I don't really listen much so I'm not aware of the political stuff. It probably wouldn't bother me if it is what I suspect 🙂 But I agree no need for it on an Eagles podcast

Hurts literally got benched for Tua at halftime in a National title game.

And in the NFL he's done nothing, just like Hurts.

He’s drinking the water on the Saints, which I don’t … and he must believe Stafford’s elbow will be problematic all season.

I agree with him in that I think the Vikings will be good, and there is a good chance the Bucs might be that bad or worse if the Saints are good

Nothing will be sweeter then week 6 in Philly, Dallas down by 2. Just when they need Peters the most he decides to take his normal few snaps break. During that break, Reddick and Nakobe Dean sandwich Dak and snap his leg like a tooth pick. All while Peters is finishing off his ice cream cone on the bench.

I think the saints are gonna be better than what some people on here think. But going through their schedule i don’t see 12 wins. I think they are closer to 9 wins.

i actually agree that the Vikings make the playoffs. They were in a ton of one score games late last year. And i think they are a better team this year. Plus their schedule is pretty easy outside of two GB, Buffalo, NE, eagles and Dallas games. I’m guessing they likely split with GB and beat New England and Dallas at home.

I expect a huge year for Justin Jefferson also

Agreed on all five of your points ... especially the last one.

I went to the home opener the year after the super bowl expecting something cool as a giveaway and they gave us a stupid Fing visor with the Philly special under the brim.

My insane prediction is that the Panthers will shock the league and make the wild card. Baker Time baby!

You’re along with Adam Caplan, who predicted the same yesterday on NFL Radio.  It’s not impossible, but I’m not sure Matt Rhule is a good enough coach for that to happen.

I do see them winning 7-8 games at a minimum

Matt Alkire (ages ago NDIrish in the blog) on Booker.

"I do love that they picked up Ian Book. An NFL quarterbacks’ coach that I really respect once told me that a player that truly embraces being a backup quarterback is having another coach on the field. Josh McCown was that guy. I’ve always said, I think Ian Book is.

He is intelligent, he was a winner at Notre Dame and while he may not have the physical tools for the NFL as a starter, he can help.”

I just don’t see it.  I respect Matt’s player analysis although he always said he wasn’t focused on QBs.

If you look at him as a potential starter, no.

If you look at him as someone who embraces the scout team QB role (studies the QB he is imitating each week) and works with the DC to tell him what he saw that he thinks could be exploited against the defense come game time, then indeed he can be a coach on the field. A smart QB who doesn't have the tools can still see how he'd attack the defense if he did have the tools.

Yep, and we saw that in the Giants game. I think it proved that he's just a top tier game manager.

But that's a GOOD thing. I mean when you have the talent we have on offense, you'd be happy with a top point guard, you don't need Michael Jordan.

Hurts doesn't have to carry this team, he has to make the plays he should make, and a half dozen times a game, use his legs to make key 1st downs and keep the defense on edge.

No 40 yard deep outs across his body, no 60 yard laser throws, just hit the open man and throw the ball away or run for positive yards when there's nothing there.

I don't want ESPN highlight plays, I want cool, consistent efficiency.

Now, will we get that? Well, that's why they play the games, or Vegas could just pay out  the bets and skip the season.
