Why wouldn't you go for it if you were the 49ers?  They have a good team and Brock Purdy does not inspire confidence.

I mean, unless some team claims him first?

Indy scored and missed a two point conversion to tie.

Dallas came back and Dak threw a pick, but the refs ruled it incomplete on the field. For some odd reason, Saturday didn’t challenge it. It was tough to tell if the ball hit the ground or not, but it was such a big moment in the game, you throw that challenge flag regardless.

He didn’t, seemed like the players gave up at that moment too and the rout was on

Wait, Dallas messed up and the refs bailed them out.

I'm shocked I tell you, shocked 🙄

So nick foles at this point likely is and they don’t use him.

No idea how he hasn’t had an opportunity to start there yet.  They must have blinders on.

Cowboys losing the cornerback is big. And they don't stop the run well either. I like our chances in Dallas. Especially with Dallas (Goedert) playing. Prescott will do his thing with the picks, while Hurts doesn't.

Not sure if this has been posted but Watkins suffered an AC joint sprain. Not sure if the eagles will rest him for a week or not

Didn't watch the Colts-Turds game last night.  Looked at the score this morning and holy $hit.  What the hell happened?   Wasn't expecting Indy to beat them but damn.

It was close until the 4th (19-21). Then the Colts crapped the bed.  3 INT and 2 lost fumbles were a big part of it. Once the Cowboys got the lead and could just run the ball, and the Colts were forced to air it out it was all over.

Watkins drops too many, I’d like to drop a load in your mouths

Alright, since there's not enough to fight about right now...let's try this: Position by position, 2022 vs 2017 vs 2004 Eagles.  Ranked #1-3

QB: 1. Wentz/Foles. 2. Hurts.  3. Mcnabb

This one should be controversial.  Wentz/Foles benefit from the script already being written.  Mcnabb, similarly, is hurt by that.  Wentz played at an MVP level throughout the regular season.  And Foles played better than the GOAT in 2 of 3 playoff games.  They are #1 by default.  And Mcnabb choked in the SB, so he's #3 by default.

WR1: 1. TO. 2. AJ Brown. 3. Alshon Jeffery.  Sorry AJ, but TO takes this one.

WR2: 1. Devonta Smith. 2. Agholor. 3. Pinkston.  Easy calls.

WR3: 1. Quez. 2. Torrey Smith. 3. Fredex. #2 and #3 pretty close to a tie.

RB1: 1. Westbrook. 2. Sanders. 3. Blount.

RB depth: 1. Ajayi/Clement. 2. Gainwell/Scott. 3. Levens/Mahe

TE: 1. Ertz/Burton. 2. Goedert/Stoll. 3. Lewis/Smith.  Ertz may not be the complete player Goedert is, but in his prime, as a receiver, he was elite.  Burton also rounded out the TE corps better.  Lewis/Smith were better depth than we have, but Goedert was significantly better.

LT: 1. Tra. 2. Mailata.  3. Peters.  Yep, here comes the controversy.  Tra couldn't run block, but he locked it down in pass protection for a passing team.  Mailata is a weapon run blocking, but has been up and down this year with some persistent issues in pass protection.  Peters was already much further on the downslope of his career than anyone wanted to admit in 2017.  There's a reason things didn't slip much when he went out.

LG: 1. Dickerson. 2. Hicks. 3. Wisniewski.  Everyone may agree with the order, but the separation is MUCH smaller than anyone will admit.  Dickerson has some issues in pass protection and is a constant worry to get sub'ed out for injury.  Hicks was sort of the LG version of what Seumalo is doing for us now.  Just OK and reliable.  Wiz was a hair behind that.

OC: 1t. Kelce (2017), Kelce (2022).  3. Fraley.  Enormous gap here.  Kelce really is no worse than he was 5 years ago.

RG: 1. Brooks. 2. Mayberry. 3. Seumalo.  IMO, fairly decisive drop off's with each ranking here.

RT: 1. Lane (2017). 2. Lane (2022).  3. Runyan.  Lane has definitely lost a half step, but he's still much better in pass protection than Runyan ever was...and not that far off in run blocking either.

There is a little bit of defensive asymmetry due to the usage of Redick and more base 4-3 without the nickel way back in 2004.  So I'll get a little creative with aligning them:

Edge 1: 1. Reddick.  2. Graham (2017).  3. Kearse.

Edge 2: 1. Sweat. 2. Burgess (had not emerged in pro-bowl form yet). 3. Curry.

Edge depth: 1t. Graham/Quinn, Barnett/Long.  3. Hugh/Mcdougle.  I'm assuming there is more to Quinn than we've seen.

DT1: 1. Cox (2017). 2. Hargrave. 3. Simon.

DT2: 1. Cox (2022). 2. Jernigan. 3. Walker.

DT depth: 1. Davis/Suh/Joseph.  2. Hollis/Rayburn/Grasmanis. 3. Beau Allen/Vaeao/Qualls.  #1 and #2 are really strong.

WLB: 1. Kyzir White. 2. Kendricks. 3. Simoneau/Adams.

MLB/LB2: 1t. Straight tie across with Edwards/Bradham/Trotter.  Trotter was limited, but was a weapon in crashing the OL.  Bradham was really a stud that one year.  And Edwards, not quite the weapon or playmaker either are, is the most reliable and well rounded who just plugs into an otherwise stacked defense.

SLB/CB3: 1. Robinson. 2. Maddox. 3. Dhani Jones.  Since Dhani spent more time on the field than CB3 in 2004, he files in here.  Robinson was a force in the slot, better than Maddox due to both ability and availability.  Both were better for the defense than Dhani.

FS: 1. Dawkins.  2t. CJGJ, Jenkins.

SS: 1. Lewis. 2. Mcleod. 3. Epps.  Nothing against Epps, but I think those 2 were just better.

CB1: 1. Slay. 2. Lito (or Sheldon, debate that later). 3. Darby (not Mills, not yet).  Decisive fall-offs here.

CB2: 1. Bradberry. 2. Sheldon. 3. Mills.  Decisive fall-offs here.

K: 1t Akers/Elliott/Elliott.

RS: 1. 2004 with a lousy committee and Westbrook as reserve weapon. 2t. 2017 & 2022 lousy committees.

Offense is a mixed bag, but 2022 really stacks up much better on defense.

Colts are a dysfunctional organization on their way down.  Bringing Philip Rivers in instead of drafting a first round QB was a small mistake, but a mistake.  They took a huge risk bringing Wentz in, and it turned out to be compounding the first mistake by again not drafting a QB.  They turfed Wentz out the door and made another big mistake bringing Matt Ryan in -- who, at that point, wasn't even as good as Wentz.

I keep hearing what a good GM Chris Ballard is, but it's either him making these bad decisions or he's being overruled by the owner in making these decisions.  Either way, Ballard should be gone after this season.

They definitely are a dysfunctional organization. It stems really from Jim Irsay. That said the retirement of Andrew luck was so unexpected by them that they had a roster that was finally good enough to compete for a Super Bowl. And then he suddenly retired. For years he was getting beat up all the time because they didn’t build the roster up properly. I don’t think bringing in Philip Rivers with the problem, but like you said, they should’ve drafted a young kid to develop behind him so that when he was done in a year or two they have the guy ready to go. Everyone knew rivers was close to the end.

The wentz situation i think they were banking on Frank reich being able to fix him. Frankly, I thought they should’ve given him a second year with Frank, because their offensive line last year was a complete mess from day one. Wentz also did not play well at the end of the year. As well as their defense in big moments of that season, crashed and burned. When you watched Atlanta last year, Matt Ryan was a shell of himself. He had been slowly declining and now you’ve seen when he goes to throw the ball to the sidelines it’s rainbows and anything over 5 yards has zero velocity on it. I didn’t think he completely fell off, but it wasn’t out of the question that he would decline and you still weren’t good enough to win a Super Bowl.

At this point you have to draft a quarterback. however, I could easily see the Colts going after  Aaron Rodgers or Lamar Jackson if either becomes available. I tend to think they believe if they get a veteran Qb like lamar or rodgers they are Super Bowl contenders. Frankly i think they’d be a playoff team. I still don’t see them in the class of the chiefs, bills, bengals of the afc.

Cowboys lost another CB last night for the year? Smith will have a lot of balls thrown his way.

I think it’s about Saturday not wanting to crush Ryan and feel like it’s all on him. But frankly last night it started with his turnovers. At this point he’s done. Either start ehlinger to see what he’s and if he improves over a longer period of time or go with foles. You know Ryan is done and likely not back next year.
