Makes a big difference as well that Yankee Stadium is a bandbox where Judge can hit 60 HR, where playing 80+ games in San Diego means his production drops to 40-45 HR

OBJ didn't work out for NYG, Buffalo or Dallas. He's probably not playing this year.

My thought. There's a reason why he is refusing to work out

Padres are really just throwing out ridiculous contracts to get turned down by everyone. I don’t blame judge though if he’s looking at long term statistics. I think yankee stadium is a better place to keep racking up numbers like he has. Much harder at petco although I’d argue quality of life in SD is better than NY. And really hard in SF. It’s why if money were equal i thought he’d stay in NY over SF.

There was some question last night about Tennessee's punting game. I went through the game last night (couldn't sleep, still not feeling well) and collected all the data. They averaged about 58.1 yards and 4.33 hangtime. That distance is insane. Their punter (Ryan Stonehouse) is among the league leaders in distance, and he ranks pretty low in fair catches, so this all makes sense. He's a distance punter who doesn't focus as much on hangtime as most punters do. So yes, Covey had more room to work with in this game than normal. Kudos to him for actually doing something with it.

I went back through the data from 2017 til now, looking for punts that were hit to the middle of the field, had a distance of between 50 and 65 yards, had a hangtime below 4.50 seconds, and landed outside the ten yard line. My rough guess is that if all of those criteria are met, the punt could/should be considered "returnable". I was surprised by the results. From 2017 through 2021, the Eagles returner only had four, three, one, four, and four such opportunities each year. In the Titans game on Sunday, there were three such opportunities. Furthermore I went back through the first eleven games and discovered that there were another three. So this year, the Eagles have fielded six "returnable" punts.

Cowboys are in trouble now

Vikings -11 is fascinating

Just read that with this recent Player of the Week win by Jalen that he has become the first Eagle to ever win Player of the Week in consecutive weeks.

That's huge.  I'd feel awful for Bills fans if we weren't in the hunt this year.

Their offense makes no sense to me. I don't know why he basically splits time with Kamara. But this is coming from a disgruntled Kamara fantasy owner.

Good thing they kept playing him after that injury occurred and kept taking out kamara for Ingram who was hurt.

The Detroit Lions field is no joke. It just wrecks players.

I have Kamara on a fantasy team. But their offense makes no sense. He is the best player offensively. They routinely forget about him in the passing game and with the screens All night they were using Ingram on. To the point it was like why the F aren’t you doing it with kamara who’s better at that. That entire game he would get one touch or one reception and then they take him off the field and put Ingram out there for the next two plays. They did it all night.

more puzzling after the Bucs  score the first touchdown, it is 2nd and 9. They drop back to pass, Olave is on the sideline and he’s their best Fing wide receiver.

Breaking this information down compared to 'average' 45 yards with 4.4 second hangtime...

Average launch angle for the punt is about 66.4 degrees above the horizontal.

This punter to have that range and that hangtime was launching the ball at 59.8 degrees.   That's a significant difference and it showed up on the TV to my eye.

He also produces a higher velocity off his foot than average... 80.1 ft/s vs. 76.8 ft/s.   So, if he put a little more effort into the hang time, he'd be able to kick it deeper, with slightly more hang time and produce far more fair catches, for a significantly higher net.

Curious. When you're calculating those numbers, are you remembering to incorporate the fact that they generally strike the ball about ten yards from behind the line of scrimmage? So when I say a ball went 58 yards, it actually went about 68 yards from the impact with his foot.

He’s a rookie, right? Or in his 2nd year..I know they released Brett Kern, who’s been a really good punter for a long time, for this guy & it was surprising news.

Potentially good news

@ManuManu @HazletonEagle  How common is it that an ACL wouldn't be identified upon initial physical exam and then be found via surgery unexpectedly.

I did forget that... Let me recalculate.

Must have been that heroic stretch he made to get the first down and seal the game for the Saints

I swear, the Saints can pee games into the porcelain like no other team ... except the Falcons, of course.

You are correct, and it doesn't incorporate directional kicking either... so these are just estimates.

Corrected values:   Average: 62.0 degrees @ 79.8 ft/s.    vs Titans' punter Sunday:  55.8 degrees @ 83.8 ft/s.     He's definitely got the strength to be a far more effective punter than his performance on Sunday at pinning teams back with minimal returns.  His net appears to be FAR lower than it could be with a bit more emphasis on hang time.

I heard the practice window has opened for Maddox

I hope they open the door for him to attend practice.  I'd hate for him to aggravate the injury just because he was climbing through a window to attend practice.
