I was wrong about Mariota; I thought he was going to have a resurgence of sorts, and the Falcons would be a bit better than most people predicted.  He's simply not a good enough passer at the pro level.

I’m excited to see him play. I liked him out of cincy. Not sure he’s a franchise Qb but i think he has the potential to be a solid starter in the league. Frankly thought atlanta should’ve started him sooner than this but he should know the offense better as it’s week 14. i don’t love it’s coming against the saints defense which can still be tough. But i wouldn’t be surprised if he looks as good as mariota did. Mariota wasn’t exactly playing at an extremely high level

I really hope that he balls out and the Saints lose.   I don't know that the Falcons can win that though.  Then again... the Saints just lost a couple big players for this week.   There's always hope.

I think its smart for the Falcons. Mariota was never the long term answer and they need to see what Ridder has to offer before the draft. Giving him 2 weeks of starter reps before his first game.

Oh yeah.  No doubt.  But, I don't care about the Falcons' long term growth.   I just want them to beat the Saints.   Hopefully this is a Falcons win.

You might be right, but that backup would probably be a pick from round 5 or lower.

I would argue that a team with SB aspirations and a qb that runs the most in the nfl should probably have a backup that is more proven than a 5th round rookie.
