I think he's saying the pick is used at RG until he's ready to take over for Lane in a few years.  Not many fit the bill in this years draft I don't think.  To me it has to be either DE, DT, or CB with the Saints pick.

I am getting a king's ransom for this top 5 pick, from a QB starved team for a slew of 1st, 2nd & 3rd rounders. May lose 6 starters on the defense. And 2 on offense. Need to just keep stashing and keep this gravy train rolling, from Howie's two 2020 trades of Wentz & number 6 pick. Also, a top 5 pick is $6M a year on the cap. A top 12 pick is about half that number. Need to stay flex, with Hurts contract coming. In a sense, Howie is playing with house money right now and should milk this as long as he can.

I believe Tankathon also projects the records of all 32 teams in their remaining five or so games.  That is where the projection comes in.  But as I said, you may be right.

No I don’t think he will because of the cap hit such a player would bring.  Howie will be looking to maximize the number of rookie contracts without sacrificing quality.

Depends what happens this year. If they don't win a SB, Howie might feel they are close enough to make a big splash to get over the hump in the last year or two that Hurts will be cheap. I think Howie will lean immediate results over long term.

that’s what i gathered. No way some team lets him play his first game in the playoffs after not playing for nearly 11 months. Add on it’s his second ACL. He might think he’s good to go by January but I’m guessing he’s no where close to where he needs to be to play regular season football let alone playoffs. Add on without building up chemistry all year.

 He shouldn’t even try to return this year and give it the full year to recover. He’s actually gonna wind up having about a year and 6 months. I’m guessing his mindset was i want to play a couple games to show I’m back so in free agency can make more than if he just sits out the entire year. 

Also my feeling Gallup looked bleh before last week. so i think Dallas was more willing to take a shot on hoping maybe just maybe he could play if that continued. Gallup balled out so Dallas didn’t need to take that chance

Yeah... No. DE and DT is an immediate need and the top of the draft caters in that direction anyway, RT can either be a next year concern or pick one late this year and see if they develop. We needed younger talent on the DL starting last year.

The Problem I have when comparing SOS between teams, is by this time in the season,  your own Wins and Losses vs these teams contribute to the SOS

Example: because the Egales are beating everyone, everyone they have beaten, it shows up as a loss in the Eagles opponents SOS. So because the Eagles are 11 -1, it skews it just a bit, Good teams SOS always will show lower, while really bad teams will always show a higher SOS than the reality because they gave wins to their opponent.

I would rather we take out the records (wins or losses by that team when looking at their SOS, and then compare.

nope. We dont and wont have the cap for that, we need to build through the draft if we intend on paying Hurts.

We will need to trade down just to acquire more picks to do so.

I’d add cornerback is up there. Because Bradberry is likely gone. Darius slay is not getting any younger. If there were a corner available in that spot that was better and more highly rated than the pass rusher I wouldn’t rule that out either. I just don’t think there’s a guy like sauce this year where they’re going to be picking.

I don’t know if anybody listen to the Philly special podcast that came out yesterday with Kapadia and Benjamin Solak. Solak discussed when Chauncey Gardner Johnson comes back. If Blankenship is playing as well as he has they can go with a three safety look where they bring down Gardner-Johnson into the slot and have the other two safeties (Epps and Blankenship) out there. so if Maddox returns and then gets hurt again or he’s just not as good after the injury that could be something we see more of by the eagles.
