The two games he beat New Orleans, but lets put this conversation to bed.

Jalen Hurts is 9-10 as a starting QB.

In games he has run 8 plus times, he is 5-10.

In games he has run 10 plus times, he is 3-5.

So imagine that, he is 4-0 when he runs 7 or less times, its almost like being an efficient passer and not running increases your success as a QB.

It's almost like having a big lead means you just hand the ball off.

Whereas when you're behind you're scrambling more, trying to make something out of nothing when the defense pins its ears back on the pass rush.

The interesting thing about the line is that Dickerson is your typical RG type, less mobile but stronger, and Seumalo your LG prototype

Can you provide something that shows that this is the prototype for LG and RG, and examples of NFL team guards that align this way.

I agree, but it should be less often. It should be enough they have to account for his running, which should open up the passing game.

Hasn't yet.  But he just has a foundation of a house.  Far from complete.  But he literally sits there a day, every day in his car watching the workers.

He's going to be a pr.

Is his name Phil?   LOL

3 years after we built our house we had a real ahole build one next to us, luckily, my property is fairly wide in front, so we had about 400-500 feet between the houses, and I ended up putting evergreens in to block my view of him.

He was such an ahole, he started trouble with every household nearby, I caught him picking stones out of his yard and throwing them in mine. He called the cops on most of the neighbors at one time or another, never called them on me, he was afraid of me, because when I caught him throwing the rocks, I picked them up and threw them right back - close to him, and gave him the stink eye.

Happily- They only stayed there 4 years.

It's almost like if you have RB's do RB things, and QB's do QB things, and run a conventional NFL offense, you can get a big lead.

And the defense is playing prevent, allowing underneath running and passing, adding to Hurts garbage time stats....

Bacarty posted his home address in CVON awhile back. Like a true alpha

CVON is who I would be worried about.  That place is full of crazy

So much for contemplating retirement

:offtopic:

Off topic Rant:

I tuned in good morning football for the first time since last season, and hard pass. Really miss Kay Adams, and I know he left earlier but the original cast, Kay, Nate, Kyle and Peter were great together. It was ok with out Nate, but I found myself uninterested without Kay or Nate. Left Schreggs as the best on that show now. meh.....

I keep waiting for their "trade away all their early picks" strategy to bite them in the arse but clearly I was wrong.  At least for now.

Proof that a franchise QB IS the difference maker, but that it cannot be them alone. You need a good team all around AND a franchise QB

Stafford with the Lions? OK

Goff with the Rams?... MEH

Stafford with the Rams - GREAT

Goff with the Lions- horrible.

For clarity,  in fairness to the guy,  is a gated community.  He couldn't come in here to scout out the hood. He would have only allowed in with a realtor.

He did buy the house during the school year last year.  But he hasn't been around daily till excavation started a few weeks ago.

I do believe his driveway will take up some road space. I think it'd be rude to block his driveway,  but I do think he won't technically own the last 5 feet of his driveway up to the road. I think that's technically still part of the easement that isn't really his.

If people don't park there,  I'm not sure there's enough parking on this stretch of road anymore.

May have to end up moving the bus stop.

Jump to about 51 seconds in the 1st video. RPO. You will see the LT, and LG pass block, while the C, RG, and RT run block.

Here, Doug Pederson will diagram plays and talk about it. Its not as simple as just reading a LB. Sometimes its figuring out the box count. Knowing pre-snap who is going to fill, and how safeties will rotate. Doug explains this stuff in this video.

Click "watch on youtube" link in the box below. NFL is blocking it from importing on to here.

Thanks. Look at the flow blocking on the three clips on the Pederson clip.  Flow run blocking, which also helps defeat man downfield.  I did see the pass blocking on the clip you mentioned.  But also in that clip, you see JP seal.  That is run blocking, I believe.  So some pass blocking is evident in some RPO snaps.  But the main difference is the read.  Thanks for sharing. Learned some more which always makes the game more enjoyable.

BTW, @Iggles_Phan, check out the first clip where Doug starts off saying that the QB running is the third option but they don’t do that.  Proves what you were saying but validates that the QB run option is part of the RPO, which validates what @justrelax was saying about QBs that can run.  So that sort of counters what was being said about statues as I see it.  I don’t think anyone disagrees that passing ability is primary to running ability.  Right behind the ability to read, do it quickly and react quickly.

Correct.  For alcoholic we also would have accepted virtually anyone else who regularly posts in CVON (except for the stoners)

I would argue that the NFLs historically elite offenses have almost all pushed the limits of the pass/run ratio that was conventional in their day.

The pass is simply more effective.  The only reason for ever running the ball at all is the same reason a pitcher with a bad change up still throws it so teams don’t jump on the fastball.  But the yards per play of pass vs run is generally far bigger than the difference in contact between fastball/off speed in pitchers with even bad off speed pitches.

Thats what the running game is…an ineffective change up.

It is also ball control, imposing one's will and making the defense want to give up.  It is far more psychological than you are giving credit for.  Getting beat by the pass doesn't physically hurt.  Being run over by a dominating run game does.  I understand your analogy, but it's not an ideal one.  It's far too one-dimensional for a multi-dimensional situation.

Phasing himself out.

Low effort. Quitting in place.

These young coaches need to step up and take these leadership opportunities.
