Eagles aren't the the 2019 Ravens and Jalen isn't Lamar.  Ravens aren't refusing to give Lamar a contract, they have offered him a long term deal, they just aren't agreeing to give him the fully guaranteed contract that he wants.

You are 100% fully detached from reality living in a fantasy world inside your own head if you honestly believe that the Eagles are planning on moving on from Hurts and not giving him a big new contract this summer to keep him in Philadelphia long term.

You really need to learn what a strawman is, and how to avoid them.

How does the NFL not have a better camera angle?

That's called using precedent to make predictions for the future.  I never claimed that the 2022 Eagles were the 2019 Ravens, just that the Eagles are following the same path.  And yes, the Ravens are refusing to give Lamar the contract he's seeking (please read what I wrote).

And finally, I am NOT saying that I believe that the Eagles are planning to move on from Hurts.  I am trying to figure out what they are thinking, because they are letting their QB take a ton of unnecessary abuse with this style of offense.  His long term health doesn't appear to be a concern for them.  Which makes me wonder why, and causes me to think about possible reasons for it.  Nothing fantasy about that.   The fantasy is thinking that they can run Hurts at an historic rate (as they are) and continue to do so without any concern about the sustainability of such action.  The examples from the past so far of this sort of thing are Cam Newton - who's arm/shoulder was shot by the time he hit 29 years old; and Lamar Jackson - who's team doesn't see the need to make the sort of commitment that other teams are in their QBs, specifically comparing it to the Kyler Murray level contract.

Are the Eagles going to commit that sort of capital into Hurts, AND run him the way they currently are?  How long will that remain sustainable?  If you aren't concerned about that long term, then I'd say you are the one in the fantasy world.

Bills signed Josh Allen to a big deal just like the Eagles will sign Hurts to a big deal.  The sooner you accept that reality the better for you.

Eagles are the ebat team in the league this year and Jalen Hurts the best player in the NFL.  They are going for a Super Bowl. They are using the full scale of Hurts talent and abilities while he's young because the league can't stop it. He continues to dramatically improve as a passer from year to year.  As his rushing ability diminishes later in his career it will be offset by his continued growth as a passer.

Dillard will sign somewhere for around $7M per season AAV

Except he has.  He has written paragraphs on why he thinks the Eagles do not intend to keep Hurts.

"But, with everything right now, following the Lamar Jackson blue print, how can you be certain that the team will be willing to invest huge money in him?"

According to some people on here, after Mahomes 3 int game last week ment Hurts was the favorite in the MVP race.  I guess after Hurts 2 int game that puts Mahomes back in the driver seat

Surprised it's not being brought up more that Mahomes completed 87.8% of his passes and threw the ball 41 times. Sure, it's the Texans, but that's an impressive feat.

Yeah I think he's probably back in the driver's seat for MVP at this point.

If he keeps it up pretty soon he’ll be a franchise player.

It's not about the amount of carries, it's the velocity of hits.

I don't care of Hurts sneaks 10 times a game, because they're not super violent collisions. It's not flag-football, but they way the play is drawn up the OL bears the brunt of the abuse. Hurts scrambling as a runner and going out of bounds or sliding is also fine.

On the other hand, when Hurts is taking the ball on read-options to gain 2-3 yards on 1st and 10 into LBs to take shots is just dumb. Yesterday might have been our worst game-plan of the year. Just hand the ball off to Miles. There's no justification of unnecessary hits on the QB.

Honestly if he had hasty, mahomes would’ve gotten there faster

He didn't fumble until the second half, after they ignored him the entire first half.   And it was literally his first fumble all year.  If Miles was in the doghouse for that, then shame on everyone responsible for that.  Hurts, Goedert, Brown, Smith, Watkins... all have fumbles too.  Did they go into the doghouse?

And my point continues to be that they didn't NEED to run the RO so much.  Just let the big boys eat and move bodies.  They want to put 8 in the box.... put in a 6th OL at TE and play some smashmouth football.  In the cold and wind, sometimes you have to do just that, and I'd prefer NOT to use my QB to be that battering ram.  Of course, I've been beating that drum for a while and the coaches don't seem to care.  Sirianni even said the game plan included gashing the Bears with Jalen's legs.  Which just makes me sad to hear.

Yeah we need to save that approach for another game.

Bonus Prediction: Riddick Stripsack Scoop and Score.

Only problem here is it was Thibadeaux for the Commode Doors, not Riddick, different game but hey, I'll take the two sacks! ( 6 Total).

Tell Hurts to hand the ball off to Miles; Sirianni was covering for his QB when he says it was in the game plan to 'gash them with Jalen's legs'.  The statement doesn't even make any sense.  Sanders is the Eagles best runner and Hurts should understand that at some point.

Behind closed doors Sirianni will (hopefully) be telling Hurts to knock off the keep-away crap and distribute the football.  I expect he will have less than half the carries against Dallas.

Rex Ryan killing Cowboys, Jeff Saturday and the Bucs today. 🤣 at least he’s honest

Will be very interesting to see how the coaches handle the final two games if the Eagles do win in Dallas to lock up the #1 seed/division.

I'd go a half with the starters against NO and then either all rest the final week or play just a quarter.

If the call is the RO and the Defensive End crashes, you know the result is a Hurts keeper. That's the design and it works.

Straight up handoffs to Miles should be the go-to call more often, tho, let the Big Dogs feast.

Gotta keep the Defense guessing, you remember how we neutralized Parsons first time around...

Or we could stop calling read-option plays.

   Your reading comprehension makes me sad.    Josh Allen has never run at the same rate as Hurts is.  Only Jackson matches up there.   And the connection to the 2019 Ravens continues... best team in the league... Jackson as the MVP.

I'll wait until you understand what is being discussed before engaging you any further.

He got blown up yesterday... a lot.

Just some thoughts on the importance of this week.

The Eagles need to WIN only one more game out of the next 3 in order to be the #1 seed and get the bye. Thats almost a foregone conclusion at this time.

However-  This Sat night game- while huge for the fans, means very little in the grand scheme of things. Yes I always want to beat the cowboys, and yes to clinch it by beating them on Christmas eve in their house would be a great Christmas gift, but if they lose this game,  it's almost meaningless. We are likely to see them in the playoffs and it's extremely hard to beat the same team 3 times in one year anyway. Again it's HUGE for the fans... I get that. ANd securing the bye would also be pretty huge, but we are getting that anyway.

And to be honest, I'd rather we WIN over the saints to help our draft pick, because I know we are getting the 1st rd bye anyway, what matters more is to WIN IN THE PLAYOFFS at this point.

Hurts has 47 more attempts than Josh Allen. Josh Allen runs a lot and unlike Hurts, Josh Allen has no idea how to protect his body and he will seek out contact most of the time whereas Hurts does an excellent job for the most part of sliding or getting out of bounds.

Not the same team as the Ravens and not the same player as Lamar.  Hurts already has over 300 more passing yards than Lamar did that season in one less game played.

Spoiler alert: Eagles are going deep in the playoffs and Eagles will be signing Hurts to a new deal prior to the start of the next season.
