Of course he is.  That's what the Browns gave to DeShaun Watson... ridiculous as it was.  That set the new bar.  $230M, fully guaranteed.  And that's with the allegations swirling, the trade compensation, everything.  Just ridiculous to give that contract.   Kirk Cousins also had gotten a fully guaranteed contract.  Why shouldn't Jackson push for that, especially with his style of play?

The flip side is, the Ravens would be criminally negligent to themselves to give him that kind of a deal, just as the Browns were.  They likely want incentives, escalator clauses, an out in a couple years in case of injury.  But, why should he want to sign that?   If he makes it to the open market, he's going to demand more than Watson got.  He's got an MVP trophy, he's got no allegations swirling, and he's got no trade compensation attached to acquiring him.

The Ravens offered him (supposedly) $250M with $133M guaranteed.  And if the Ravens tag him with the exclusive tag, he can still negotiate with them, and gets a fully guaranteed $45+M the moment he signs on the dotted line.   Right now, I think Jackson is the one with the cards in his hand more than the Ravens.   The Ravens will have to do some fancy accounting to fit him under their 2023 cap at the franchise figure.

Yeah it’s a real quagmire there, and one Id like to avoid. Ravens are generally a pretty good franchise so I don’t think they’ll cave in…maybe franchise him for one year, and let it play out. If he gets hurt again next year, I think that would make it 3 seasons in a row, and no expectation that he’ll be fully healthy for a season ever again. Which theoretically would drop his price…but then you’ve got damaged goods….what a mess

I wonder if Hurts isn't playing.

Vegas oddsmakers understand that the Turds followed up their bed-crapping loss to Green Bay with a blowout win over Minnesota.  They think the Turds will show up this week after another horrific egg laying against JAX.

Cowboys fans betting on Cowboys. This isn’t unusual for them, Vegas just going where the money is

I’d imagine the line would’ve moved a lot more tbh if hurts was out.

although if he didn’t and minshew beat the cowboys I’d love to go on Twitter talk crap to cowboys fans after they ****ed that they lost earlier this year with rush and he’s a backup

NFL needs to avoid fully guaranteed contracts. Don't become the NBA/MLB.

I think NHL players get paid in Maple Syrup so who cares about them.

You are correct.  What most people don't realize is that there are actually different grades of Maple Syrup.  It used to be Grade A or Grade B, but now it's all race based.  Golden, Amber, Dark and Very Dark.   Not cool.

So it's been about 4 months since I've posted. Couldn't be happier with the way the season has panned out, and, sometimes, the best deals are the ones you don't make (trading for Russell Wilson, Deshaun Watson.)

Anyway, I just wanted to pop in and wish you all a very Merry Christmas & a safe and Happy New Year.

Thanks for dropping in, Don.

Your voice is missed.

Headed for No. 1 Seed, huh? Good times, hope you stop back!

3rd straight road ge for the Eagles and with them only needing to win one more the rest of the way I think they go vanilla with their gameplan against the Cowboys knowing a rematch is likely coming in the divisional round. Meanwhile I bet Dallas treats this like their Super Bowl.

Local shop has this stuff...it's pretty darn good.  They have all sorts of flavors too but I haven't ventured away from regular yet.  Don't eat enough meals requiring syrup to need anything more than 1 bottle.

We're getting slammed with Flu cases at the office recently. I'm kinda surprised we haven't seen more players miss time because of it.

That's crazy since the flu hasn't existed for like two years for some reason...

Regarding the McLaurin penalty last night, I've been saying for the past couple years now that refs should be doing mandatory press conferences like the players and coaches do after games. They've become as much as an impact on the games as the players have, so they should be treated as such. McLaurin said that the ref told him he was lined up fine, so ask the ref in his press conference what the real story was. It'll help add some accountability and integrity to the equation. The fact that they get to disappear into the tunnel after the game never to be heard from again is a joke.

Never heard of that in any sport. I have no idea what you'd expect them to say, but Ii'm picturing a Belicek/Reid "i called it like i saw it" in a deadpan tone for EVERY single question.

What was Mark Simoneau's range out there today? Extra points

Why did the player say you said he was lined up right but then you threw a flag? Because he was lined up wrong.

Why didn't you run the ball more today? We have to d a better job

Why didn't you call the facemask? I didn't see it.

Excited tonight for a battle of the ages. Connecticut is way too blue blooded and doesnt have that Dawg (odd given the mascot) in 'em to keep up with Marshall or their physical display of force. Think it's a rather easy win for our Thundering Herd as they take the Myrtle Beach Bowl in a blowout.

@TorontoEagle

Give me Thundering Herd 41 and Huskies 13.

Bonus: Cam Fancher goes for 400+ including a flea flicker to Khalan Laborn who throws a downfield bomb to Devin Miller.

They've created jobs for guys like Blandino and Pereira to give input during a telecast, so they're an intricate part of the game and can dictate the outcome as much as any player. McLaurin said that the ref told him he was lined up fine, so ask the ref in his press conference what the real story was. While I agree 100%, that's the way the Shield wants it right now.

Can't manage Game outcomes if the Refs have to answer tough questions...

Mvp would make some sense if you don’t think the last two games he plays a ton and mahomes fighting for the 1 seed puts up numbers against seattle, Denver and Vegas

Mahomes is going to set the single season passing yardage record, and his passing yardage will be 300+ more yards than Hurts total offense.  He will have 700+ yards more of total offense, and will be the #1 seed in a much tougher AFC, while having his #1 WR traded away.

He is also now ahead of Hurts in completion percentage, #1 in QBR and 3rd in passer rating.

It is a 2 horse race, but Mahomes has a slight lead.

Not playing the starters vs the Cowboys would not be wise. You don't just punt games away when you haven't clinched yet.

This whole "We don't want to show Dallas anything!" comes from a place of fear. How about "We'll beat Dallas on Christmas Eve and if we face them in the playoffs we'll beat them again too"

Yep.  You then force yourself to have to beat New Orleans, and then if that does not go the way it should, then you have to play to win the last game of the season, against a Giants team still fighting for a playoff spot.

Dallas will have the tie breakers and be the #1 seed if they win out and the Eagles lose out.  You beat Dallas, always, the end.

Who would even contemplate doing this? I guarantee you there is zero thought to this going around the locker room and with the coaches.

Quez is one of the most overrated Eagles on the team.

Also before someone jumps in, I am not saying he's awful or should be upgraded or isn't suited for WR3/pass option 4.

I would bet that with a starting role, he is a playmaking #2 and is capable of numbers like Doug Gabriel, or Mooney. Hes an excellent player who is being misused.
