I've been very wrong about Hurts and have been happy to hop on his bandwagon while live Tik-tok-ing feeds of myself eating crow, so I'm hardly here to spike the football...and I'm very disappointed that he's injured.  But everyone can take that "data" and those "studies" about injury risk to running QB's and shove it.  The fact that our starting QB is now dealing with a potentially impactful injury is a direct, unquestionable result of the way our offense now utilizes the QB position.  It's not the result of a stupid game plan against the Bears.  You live by the sword, you die by the sword.

Literally nobody is talking about the Eagles drafting a QB.

They will... middle/ late rd. Howie loves him some qb factory

Hopefully Goedert is back this week.  That will help for Minshew.

I'm interested to see if he goes to AJ mostly like Hurts did or if he spreads it around more.  I could see a big game coming from Devonta.

Half the league this year has played a backup QB, the majority of which are injuries due to getting hit in the pocket.

I agree that the Bears' game plan was stupid, but this is not an Eagles-centric problem.

Technically yes- but not with McCarthy as HC they wont. They have to win out and we have to lose out.   I'd put those odds at about .05998% chance of happening.

Cue so you're saying theres a chance. LOL

Well, I did say it was an outside chance, but it is still a chance.  And they can't start playing like they are a WC and not the division winner, until they actually are eliminated from that.

Some of y'all are overthinking this....Dallas will absolutely be motivated by this to play for the division and potential 1 seed.

No way they are saying to themselves "Guys, Hurts is injured, we should rest our starters and settle for the 5 seed!".

And the most important thing for the Eagles franchise right now is, no matter how, to win a game and clinch that bye.

Yep.   Like I've been saying all year... and all offseason.  The Eagles are really in unprecedented ground.  And the only team that really matches up with what the Eagles are currently doing is the Ravens...

What are peoples thoughts on Jordan Davis right now? I figured he would start off slow and show his value later in the season. He's been playing about 20% of the snaps, and Joseph has been getting much more playing time. Is the ankle injury still nagging him or is his head still spinning? He hasn't recorded a stat I see in the last 3 weeks.

Underwhelming overall.

Very interested in what Sirianni says in his presser in an hour or so here.

I have high hopes we can get a win either this week or next with Minshew.  This is the golden opportunity for him heading into free agency to step in with this team.  No doubt he will try to make the best of it.

Feel awful for Jalen to get robbed of his MVP like this just how it was for Wentz. Hope Sirianni says there is a good chance he can be back for the Saints game.  Fully get it if they shut him down until the playoffs but at the same time that's a long shutdown and rust early on in that divisional game would be the worry.

It isn't just about missed games for a single year, but the number of years of effectiveness as a result of the style of play.   The shelf life is short for a running QB.

Good thing he's also a great passer that's only getting better.

Good thing now is while Jalen gets healthy he can put individual awards that don't mean anything in the rear view mirror and focus on the ultimate goal. Lombardi trophy

Haven’t bothered checking here since the news broke yesterday, but I’m guessing the season is over. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.

I'll take 3-4 years of peak QB play with Hurts over 10 years of mediocre, safe QB play.

I don't see Hurts being our QB in 2030 and that's ok.

Detroit might end up with Hutchinson on one side and Anderson on the other.  Crazy to say but that team might be really scary next year.  Plus they're top 10 in cap space I believe.  Hoping they don't get one of the last playoff spots.

Huge turnaround. Wow

False dilemma.   Shouldn't the goal be to have 10 years of peak QB play?

Agreed.  I wonder if he will now start handing off more on the option plays as the team goal is what is on the table.

Sure, but that's just unlikely.

2020s: Mahomes, maybe Allen
2010: Brady, Rodgers
2000s: Manning, Brady, Brees

I would trade Hurts and our next 3 drafts for Mahomes in a heartbeat, but the reality that you have to get lucky (draft #1 overall in the right draft, find Brady in RD6) to do so.

I think it might be the 49ers year of destiny with a last pick in the draft, rookie QB. I hate to say it
