Hahaha maybe not that extreme but I would think he could figure out a way to not leave Scott 1 on 1 with Lamb all damn game to get beat like a drum.

He did.  Lamb was only 2 for 17 in the second half.  And his second TD was on Bradberry.

Don’t know if the Eagles will consider it but moving Mailata to RT and Dillard to LT

It’s over.  Was a fun season

Need Jalen to save this #1 seed so Lane can get some rest.

Some of it has to fall on Gannon too. His defenses looked good when 3/4 of our starting secondary playing at an All Pro level. Then he loses CGJ and all of a sudden we can't stop anything in the passing game and we never adjust which lands squarely on his. The only reason this hasn't come up sooner is because we were playing putrid passing offenses since CGJ went down and the offense has been on fire.

It helps that the 2 DBs playing the zone(s) across the middle have been CJGJ and Maddox for most of the season.

We need a miracle or for Jalen to take his game to a whole other (Nick Foles-esqe) level.

It is what it is.

You really think that Sirianni (and possibly Howie and Lurie) aren't involved in the defensive approach?  They are choosing to do this as a franchise.

As horrible as the stats looked, we win that game with two fewer turnovers.  Josiah Scott makes one play and folks aren't calling for Gannon's head.

Dak sliced and diced all day, why wouldn't they make adjustments? That just makes no sense to me

Not to mention the team will certainly take a few steps backward next year with the amount of free agents they have.  This was the year to do it

in fairness lane missed 10 games in 2016 where our team as a whole wasn’t very good and starting a rookie carson wentz. They went 2-8. They were better with him that year as they were 5-0. But they also had a rookie 7th round pick starting in vaitai and seumalo at tackle at times. They are much better equipped right now and better talented team by a ton. He also missed 9 games in 2020 where they were god awful even with lane. Were 2-4-1 with lane and 2-7 without him. However lane left in the middle of one of the wins they had with him.

Philly fans.  SMH.

Dillard and Driscoll would be starting on half the teams in the league.  We've won games with them on the field.  Unlike an in-game substitution, the staff and players have an entire week to prepare.

Rest up, Lane! See ya in the playoffs.

Yep.  I am not at all worried.  The got a major wake up call Saturday, the back up QB did enough to win and guys did not step up.

Gannon, Slay, Bradberry, Epps, Sanders will all bring their A game on Saturday.

We'll be able to win with them for sure, especially considering our remaining schedule. We just struggle when they go in cold which is understandable especially because the two times Lane went out was against the Cowboys.

It's a team approach.

Basically they think that if they have move explosive plays than the opponent, they'll be leading in the second half.  Then they unleash the running game to seal the deal.  That's the concept - eliminate the explosive plays.

Which is why the first TD to Lamb and the pass to Hilton were meaningful.  They had done a great job all season avoiding those.  But the backup NCB didn't execute on either of the coverages - which had been working all season.

Tommy Lawlor said the following in his article on the game.  I agree with his assessment.

Normally I would be really ticked off after the Eagles blew a game and lost to the Cowboys. I’m okay with this. It occurred to me how much had to happen for Dallas to win the game.

  • — 4 turnovers
  • — Dak Prescott starting 16 for 18
  • — Allowing a conversion on 3rd and 30
  • — Dallas getting a penalty on 4th and 8 to give them a 1st down
  • — Injury to Avonte Maddox
  • — Injury to Lane Johnson
  • — Eagles failing to recover a fumble
  • — Dak not going down on a sack play and being able to complete a key pass

This is not a winning formula that you can count on.

Lane is tough, but asking him to play is a big ask.

So you are implying that if five of us from this board were playing secondary for Gannon, he should be able to cover up our collective ineptitude?

I’m pretty fast for an old guy I’ll have you know.

My bad, I thought there was Saturday games new years weekend.  Had not really looked ahead yet.  Still pissed about my $$ league fantasy team ishing the bed, and below average would have been enough to get me a win.  Got 4 combined points from Bam Knight, Devante Adams and Mike Evans, with 20 from Tee Higgins on my bench.

Bad idea. Driscoll plays RT. Dillard isn’t all that, he got beat out by a Rugby player who had never played football before.

Gannon is the one who called a defense for a 5-8 backup slot corner who has cross trained some at safety to be the deep safety on third and 30.

People blaming Scott for taking a terrible angle are missing the point. He shouldn’t have been in the position to begin with.

Sticks in all likelihood, makes it so Dak doesn’t even consider making the attempt. He very likely takes a checkdown that picks up 15 yards and they punt.

If it’s about putting your players in the best position to succeed, Gannon very obviously failed in a key moment. There’s no getting around it.
