Guy is the biggest Debbie Downer on the board.  Sixers thread, Phillies thread, Blog, doesn’t matter.  It’s comical at this point.

He better than me?

We'll be able to win with them for sure, especially considering our remaining schedule. We just struggle when they go in cold which is understandable especially because the two times Lane went out was against the Cowboys.

That's the thing about a Dan Quinn defense.  They play very physical and push the limits on what to get away with.  You see guys going back to his Seattle days where they grab, hold and push seeing what they can get away with.

Gannon is the one who called a defense for a 5-8 backup slot corner who has cross trained some at safety to be the deep safety on third and 30.

People blaming Scott for taking a terrible angle are missing the point. He shouldn’t have been in the position to begin with.

Sticks in all likelihood, makes it so Dak doesn’t even consider making the attempt. He very likely takes a checkdown that picks up 15 yards and they punt.

If it’s about putting your players in the best position to succeed, Gannon very obviously failed in a key moment. There’s no getting around it.

Well said

F'ing 3rd and 30.  Still can't believe it.

Yeah that’s how i feel. It was idiotic to put Scott in that position to play safety or put in that position. It’s poor understanding of what Scott is and utilizing your personnel. He’s not avonte maddox. Quit acting like he is capable of what maddox does. He’s not that good or versatile As maddox

I mentioned this a couple weeks ago at some point in time you can’t just sit there and wait until halftime to finally make your adjustments. Eventually you’d be beat by a better team where that first half lack of in game adjustments would catch up to you. When maddox went down in the first half, he just kept with the same gameplan as if maddox was out there and Scott was interchangeable with maddox when Scott is nowhere close. Dallas routinely got lamb on Scott and exploited it cause the eagles didnt make the adjustment til halftime. He finally made the adjustment at halftime. You better be way quicker on your feet in the playoffs when you’re playing better teams. Because every possession is magnified. You can’t just give away possessions because you’re just gonna get the halftime then figure it out the adjustment.

Yeah, my blog fantasy team ish the bed.  Then again, I’m without Lamar Jackson and Deebo.

I’m down kupp, ertz, Lockett and hurts. I’m actually super surprised i some how won this week.

This is why you don't dick around and go vanilla or try to not show your cards in a "meaningless" game against Dallas. I never bought that narrative and I don't think the team did either. I think the coaches did everything in their power to win that game and didn't hold anything back, they just got outplayed and shot themselves in the foot. People who were saying that wasn't an important game and the team can afford to take a mini bye since all they need to do is win one more game weren't thinking rationally in my opinion.

Now you're potentially without Hurts and Lane against New Orleans who can still technically win their division, have won two in a row, and if you blow that game you get a division rival the next week fighting for their lives for a playoff spot. I'm not trying to sound pessimistic and debbie-downer here, but I just hated the mentality that the Dallas game didn't mean much going into it and it was a sentiment that I was seeing a lot of. Players and coaches don't think like that.

So if the players and coaches don’t think like that, then how did it matter?  The fans opinions or thoughts don’t effect the outcome of the games.

It didn't, it was just annoying to constantly see and read.

Rest up for the playoffs, Avonte!

Not shocking maddox only Healthy year was his contract year. Besides his contract year he’s always banged up. It’s one of the reasons many didn’t want to pay him. He’s been on the league 5 years. in 4 of the 5 he’s missed 3 weeks or more. In 3 of the 5 he’s missed 4 or more weeks. thats who he is. Frankly i rather see what mcphearson can give you in the slot then continue with Scott unless CGJ is activated this week. Unfortunately i think we don’t see him until next week if that’s a must win game

Broncos probably hire Quinn, who they wanted last year before they changed course and went with Hackett.

He really deserved to be fired like 6-7 weeks ago. That team has looked bad but really poorly coached for much of the year.

i guess he couldn’t Hackett…heyoooo

Denver, I heard Gannon is a great guy. Please look into taking him.

Didn't catch the game but holy crap Wilson is burning and crashing badly

DeMeco Ryans is going to get a job somewhere. Just depends if they want to go with a defensive guy or offensive. He'd probably be at the top of the list though. Sean Payton is the wildcard too.

Sounds like Maddox is done for the season. Bummer. He’s hurt a lot but the defense is clearly better with him on the field.

I’m guessing he has a really bad turf toe injury. Like him the player but he’s always hurt. It’s why many didn’t love the contract cause the only year he has avoided injury was his contract year. At least we have CJGJ coming back cause you can use him in the slot like the saints did and have Blankenship and Epps as your safeties

Tommy Lawlor said the following in his article on the game.  I agree with his assessment.

Normally I would be really ticked off after the Eagles blew a game and lost to the Cowboys. I’m okay with this. It occurred to me how much had to happen for Dallas to win the game.

  • — 4 turnovers
  • — Dak Prescott starting 16 for 18
  • — Allowing a conversion on 3rd and 30
  • — Dallas getting a penalty on 4th and 8 to give them a 1st down
  • — Injury to Avonte Maddox
  • — Injury to Lane Johnson
  • — Eagles failing to recover a fumble
  • — Dak not going down on a sack play and being able to complete a key pass

This is not a winning formula that you can count on.

It's true, but it's the second time in a loss this season that this has been the issue so I don't think it's a rare occurrence. They showed against Washington and Dallas that they are more than capable of putting strings of errors together like this. It was a similar issue in that Washington game too. Where if one of four or five outlier circumstances go their way, they win. This team hasn't been outplayed for four quarters this season, which is good to hang your hat on. But it also seems like they are very capable of shooting themselves in the foot not only once, but multiple times a game which is concerning.

Johnson and Maddox done….brutal

Depends on the type/severity of the injury . I suffered a broken metatarsal last year when one of my new deckhands left a hatch open on the boat.  I was back running in about a month.  Obviously I am not a pro athlete but it could be possible he comes back in the playoffs
