Shady sighting...

Good on the Bills fan to tire the fat Rams fan out before engaging with him.  I was somewhat disappointed that Shady wasn't riding in the SUV that passes them and throwing someone out of the vehicle.

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

The not catch with Dez in the playoffs.

Nope.  Def So-Cal or West Texas.

Southern Cal I would beleive.  I don't know about West Texas.  Definitely could also be from Jersey.

Especially given the DT talent that's going to be available in the draft next year.

Bonus. Davis gets his first sack (or at least a share of a sack)

Playing off of my bonus prediction, Hargrave was limited with his toe on Tuesday although full on Wednesday (Friday typically is a walkthrough so I doubt the injury report changes). Thus I suspect Davis sees a bit more time.  Even if Ragnow plays, anchoring with a groin pull against either Davis or Hargrave even with help, isn’t going to be easy.  Big V’s backup hasn’t practiced with a back. Don’t see how they can risk playing Kraemer and if they do, that’s possibly either help with the C with Davis or Hargrave or Cox. Throw in a dose of Williams. The Lions Gs are starting the season like the Eagles had the Gs banged up most of last season. That interior strength of the Eagles versus banged up thus weak for the Lions favors the Eagles.  Plus BG is back, tutoring young Jackson as his back up.   Not really worried that sore ribs eat into Penalty Box’s (Matt Alkire’s nickname for Barnett) reps backing up Sweat.  Goff will see pressure.  Expect probably some MES on Hockenson combined with some Match Zone.  The defensive matchup looks to favor the Eagles.

Lot of new players on the Lions’ defense.  I think the Eagles OL is more than up for the challenge.  Just hope that Hurts trusts them.  New starting LBs.  Decent talent.  I think the middle intermediate throw is there, if Hurts can make it.  Don’t really see how the Lions’ Ss stack up well against the Eagles.  Run Sanders right at Hutchison early to slow him down

I remember all of the consternation about sending a mere kicker to the podium the year after Drew Pearson trolled us at the 2017 draft in Philly.

"What are Lurie and Roseman thinking?"  "Send Dawkins!"  "Anybody else will be better!"

Worked out just fine.

Eagles: 21

Detroit: 22

After spinning in a circle Hurts is tackled in the end zone for a safety.

I think he’s really inconsistent. Some days he looks like an All-Pro, others I don’t realize he’s on the field

Jersey?   Yeah, no

When I say W Texas, I mean El Paso.

We clearly have a different viewpoint on what the stereotypical jersey boy looks like

You can see film and it not be All-22 there bub.  Did you watch the game last night?  It was "filmed" and was the traditional sideline view rather than the all-22.

:D   You are dating yourself with the 'film' thing.  Recorded, but not filmed.

I say the same thing though... #filmforlife

Should always use proper verbiage.

So, I wonder if anyone’s gonna tape the game this weekend.

I never saw this one.  Fantastic!  What a privilege it was to watch that monster on Sundays.

QB runs.

Allen: 10 rushes, 56 yards. Led both teams.

You don't have to run a lot but it's a back-breaker when you do.

BLG and Kempski made a good point that if you look at the Eagles line on the road vs a bad team compared to some of the other road favorites on Sunday, it’s interesting. For example, the Chiefs are bigger favorites on the road against a Cardinals team that was much much better than the Lions last season. Saints are bigger road favorites vs the Falcons.

Not sure if this is more Vegas not quite buying into the Eagles as much as the national media lately or if it’s them thinking the Lions are going to be improved.

On a side note: Washington only 2.5 pt favs at home vs the Jags lol.

I'm not sure how much other teams played & practiced but the Rams looked like a team that didn't practice or play much in the preseason last night.  Eagles follow a similar schedule. I know the Atl game went well last season but that's not a guarantee that the Eagles won't come out and look like a team that hasn't played much

The Bills did not play their starters at all in the first and third pre-season games.

The Rams were sloppier than they were. Maybe it's practice, maybe not.  The early games are like an extended preseason these days

Also helps when you complete your first 14 passes

Your 2023 Eagles QB if Hurts doesn't solidify the job this season.

In terms of why they won, do you think they had more success because of the QB runs, or because of Allen making throws/getting the ball out quickly? Which played a more important role in their success. I didn’t see the game, so idk.
