There definitely were people on here who were trolling with it cause they knew it would get a rise out of him. There were definitely some who thought he’d be good enough to eventually be a starter. Tbh i thought they wanted to groom him to be a backup as minshew is gone after this year and hurts if he doesn’t pan out as the starter they’d need a backup for 2023 and beyond. Only way i think he was gonna play this year is if hurts got hurt or the eagles weren’t living up to expectations and they wanted to see what strong had at that point as they knew minshew and hurts weren’t the guy going forward. 

still think there’s a chance he winds up back on PS as they try to develop him into that backup role. That said some pretty fun memes on here about carson strong along the way.

I always thought he would end up on the PS. Mostly because last article I read on him he was dealing with his knee. Even if he didn't have the knee issue, I believed they would only carry 2 qbs

Might be the worst idea I’ve ever heard. Let’s slow up the offense and run 12 personnel when we finally have fast receivers who know how to run routes.  And a QB who is the opposite of a precision passer.  The fascination for a 2 tight end offense cracks me up.

Part of me thinks he’s just not that good and that’s why he didn’t get the reps. Part of me also thinks that the eagles only want to carry 2 QBs and a good plan to get him to PS is limit his reps and make teams believe he’s not very good so they can do that. Although i think it is likely more of he isn’t very good than the latter.

That doesn't even make sense.  There was never getting a rise out of me with Carson Strong.  I always thought it was perfect microcosm of how the hivemind in this blog get hung up on an idea and treat it as indisputable fact because the hivemind all repeats the same thought.  What is the point of the troll?  "Hey, we got you. We ran with the idea that this kid was going to be good and when he didn't it just made you turn out to be absolutely correct about him.  Haha, got you!"  

These people genuinely believed Strong was going to be a factor here either at some point this season or if not then given a chance to be the starting QB next year.  They were so wrong, so detached from reality that they are desperately trying to save face right now.  But none of these people can say now after the "troll" is over that Carson Strong sucks and he was cut and hardly got any playing time because he was terrible, as the beat writers in attendance had reported throughout training camp.  It's not a troll when these people actually believed in Strong.  We know they actually believe in Strong because they still cannot be honest about how bad he is.

I can admit because I said it in here numerous times before the draft- Carson Strong is my #1 QB in this draft. I stand by that. I think if he gets a chance here or somewhere else he will run with it.

But I took it completely over the top at times in this thread. That was on purpose.

Literally the entire summer you got into debates and discussions about strong and hurts. Routinely. I didn’t really join in on the strong outside of a couple memes joking about the ridiculousness of Carson strong love. but I have messages from them saying that that’s what they were going to do because exactly of how you were going to respond.  you can admit or not admit whatever it is that it did to you. But the fact that you just wrote a two paragraph response to me telling you what they were trying to do and trying to justify that I didn’t do that tells me that they got to you in someway.

and your response to me somebody who said I think they only want to groom them to be a back up and only way he plays this year is if hurts gets hurt and minshew stinks or if both minshew/hurts didn’t meet expectations and they wanted to see what they have in strong at that point.

I thought very, very highly of buying a cheap lottery ticket on Strong.  Did I ever assume he'd be the next big thing?  I wouldn't assume that of a first round pick.  But I did think he had enough talent to spend a draft pick on to see what he can do.

I was never ready to die on a hill for this guy, but I was definitely wrong about him if he couldn't even get this far.

Now...I don't want to venture further onto that hill to go die, but something is really odd about this situation.  Not only did he not play in PS, he barely played in PRACTICE.  If the stat I heard is correct (and I didn't fact check it myself), it's the fewest passes an offseason rostered QB has ever thrown in PS for the Eagles.  And I can't even assume that he sucked in practice because he didn't practice.  Do I think he's going to turn him into a starter for someone else?  No, not at all.  But I don't understand why they paid all that extra cash to basically not even get a look.
