@bpac55 This is a good summary of EPA: https://www.the33rdteam.com/breakdowns/epa-explained/  I think it just adds context to a play.  Essentially you can think of it as differentiating from a check down throw on 3rd and 8 that gains 5 yars vs. a 5 yard checkdown throw on first and second down.

Too prio this week is cleaning up the D against the run.

Wentz does oddly boneheaded plays we all get good laughs at...but then you see 4tds and your like...well f.  He will end up top 10 in touchdowns and potentially yards this year and it will get spun on how he is the reason they didn't make the playoffs. Just gonna be his career for some reason

tempted to start wentz over brady next game.

This cherry-picked stat on Davis is deceiving, I believe. I’ll try to put together my thoughts on why that is. Not picking on you; I think Solak was trying to suggest something that wasn’t there.

I’m sure it’s skewed by Swift’s long run and the others playing more short yardage, but there’s little doubt in my mind that Cox/Hargrave were problems.

Funny thing no ones talking about outside the Eagles talk...

Matty Ryan took some  bad sacks yesterday that pushed them out of field goal range once, and pushed them back on the winning gf twice yesterday.

Wentz would of been crucified for that.

Alarming we didnt score one point in the entire 4th quarter?

Trubisky played well enough to win for your team

Josh Sweat remains good.

Lol. I like looking at that stat, but that doesn’t seem to coincide with the eye test.

We're not winning the SB with Hurts or Minshew, so yes I'm taking a 2nd for a backup QB.

If it were my decision, the trade for a 2nd would happen so fast it would make your head spin

I saw Myles Garrett obliterate Baker.  I don't think I saw Sweat get a clean hit on Goff.

1 ball past 15 yards of LOS. yikes

I think 2, technically....but that one on the left is the one I posted about earlier, that shoulda been a TD for Brown. But you know, Hurts....

Also, love how allergic he still is to throwing between the hashes

Does anyone know if we’ll be getting Buck and Aikman next week or will it be the other team?

It seemed like it was more on Hargrave than Cox.  It seemed like Hargrave was always blocked out of the play. Cox didn't seem to get moved around but he certainly didn't do much except for that sack.

MNF is the right game for man coverage. They don't have a mobile QB and a #1 who needs to be doubled. At home, our pass rush should be better than the OL.

Of course, it's Gannon so who knows.

Why? I think it's obvious Hurts is going to get hurt and miss time this year. You want to roll with Ian Book?

Justin Jefferson not a #1 who should be doubled?

That’s a product of their offense, 2 read RPO, it doesn’t leave time for long passes w/o penalties to the O-line.

Considering how much Sweat was in coverage, and how often he blitzed, it’s probably correct.

For one game we saw basically the same QB as last year. Brown makes him more effective of course but the same guy.

Are we subtracting the designed QB run plays from the hurts derangement syndrome bashing or are we just pretending that didn’t happen for the lulz?

I seem to recall that but not when it happened. I’m sure I’ll catch it on the all-22 but if you can tell me approximately when it happened I can take a look much sooner. Detroit did a lot of that - doubling rushers over one man, usually over Lane.

I'd say the 2nd or 3rd drive, IIRC.    In that particular play, I think the double rushers were lined up in the B gap.   Lane took the outside guy.  Seumalo and Kelce took the inside one (Hutchinson, I think) and the DT over Kelce came free.

If your offense is built around designed QB runs, you're screwed before the ball is even snapped. You think 17 QB runs is a good thing?

Why did we invest so heavily in WR and TE? So our "QB" can run 17 times?

It was the cheap shot. 3rd quarter. 2:45 left in the Q. He was out.

And, that's gonna keep happening if he decides to run 17 times a game.

Just watched that again, I am shocked he was not put in concussion protocol.

He was the best WR in the NFL yesterday.

Too early to tell but if Detroit ends up being a much better team this season, competing for the division/playoffs, this win could end up looking much better later on.  They certainly brought their A game yesterday.

Thanks. I’ll take a look.
