The Vikings aren’t the same team on the road. Also, as much as I hate "bend-don’t-break” defenses, this is an opponent who thrives off big plays.

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

How is it irony? Did i cry like a little girl like you? Did i demand to see a manager?

I want to offer you a Laurel, and Hardy handshake for what I hope will be a reconciliation of sorts moving forward. :smoke:

You have a nice touch of humor about you and I get your disdain for the bullsh!t. I'm on board with that.

I don't have anyone on Ignore, I just don't respond to some posters. Some of your recent posts show real interest and insight into our Birds, without the bashing. I know you get it and can add to real Eagles discussions when you want to. You've been here a long time, so have I.

I don't take this place so seriously either, but I do like it here. Good posters, info, surround us.

That being said, I hope there's room for a compromise of sorts, where I can get some of your thoughts on the State of the Eagles, which you surely have, and see how they align with my thoughts as well.

This is my Olive branch. Can we get along?

I didn’t know a reconciliation was needed, since I didn’t know we had much back and forth.  But cool.

Not a reconciliation so much as a meeting of the minds.

Not much back and forth because... reasons.

Hope that changes in the future.

That was from the Colts ignoring their Oline for years with Luck

Still tragic what they did from a fandom perspective. Luck was great and they screwed him over for years

Probably the only one in here that followed Oliver Luck’s career as a QB.  It was misery the games he started.  His first year, he didn’t play.  Gifford Nielsen split time with Archie Manning (who New Orleans had ruined), the next year the Nielsen, Manning and Luck split time. Awful. Two awful seasons.  The following year they brought in Moon and Luck was his back up for three years.  Then Luck quit.  See the pattern.  Quitting early runs in the Luck family.  Oliver made a damn good living in football after hanging up his cleats early. Andrew learned from his old man.

I noticed that there was an option to watch the game last night, on Prime, from the beginning or live.   That’s a big deal when Amazon gets the NFL Sunday Ticket package next year.  I haven’t seen that feature on any other sporting events I’ve used Prime for.  Specifically the MLB.TV deal.  And I haven’t seen that as an option on ESPN+ either.  Only watch it live or rewatch once the game is over.  It’s a concern that I had with any streaming options.  Sometimes if your late and miss kickoff this will be nice to start from the beginning, even while the game is still going on.

I was okay with the telecast. Was able to rewind to any point and scroll forward as needed.

Extra pages for stats etc was cool. overall  B+, some of the feed was blurry til they figured it out.

The DL issues are in part because of the opposing QB time to throw metric.  QBs are reading the Eagles D pre-snap and diagnosing quickly where to go with the football.  Again last week Jared Goff led the league at 2.47.  That doesn't give the DL enough time to make an impact.  Gannon has to be much better at giving one look pre-snap, then getting out of it, to make the QB hold the football longer.

Cousins typically takes a long time to throw because he prefers to throw downfield more than average.  Last week he was 2.96 seconds which is longer than average.  If the Eagles pass rush can't bother Cousins before he throws downfield that will be a sign of a big problem.

The good news is that Hurts was 2.75 seconds -- around average.  He was the highest time to throw in the league in both 2020 and 2021

Gannon would have to start disguising the defense to get better at it. You were too kind in the way you expressed this. If Nick and Howie can’t see that, that’s a huge problem.

You'd think that would be way high on their radar, disguising pre-snap looks, etc.

Starting to lose faith in Gannon as a Chess Player.

This week will show us everything we need to know.....

I didn’t try to rewind, but that’s good to know.  Feed was great for me other than the sound.  Which was faint.

Direct HDMI from source to monitor? Volume was not an issue here.

I'm using Comcast in South Jersey. Your results may vary?

Idk why everyone is being so hard on Gannon. We won. Did y’all not see that we won the game? You guys are silly for talking about how Gannon may or may not be the DC moving forward. But that’s not a conversation for today. What he did was good enough to win, so that’s good enough. We can talk about the future of the DC position later. He may not be good enough to win us playoff games, but he was good enough Sunday. So everyone needs to shut up about it and just be happy we got a W.

The Running backs intrigue me.

Boobie is a potential Home Run hitter every time he touches the ball. Some say lacks vision, may be justified, but don't discount his getawayability...

Gainwell hits the hole well, follows his blocking as designed. Has a nose for the open field. He fast too...

Scott is on my Favorites List. Love his effort, knows the system, never stops playing. Versatile. Hungry.

We could do better but these guys don't suck. Nice Backfield overall.

Great assets, hope our Brain Trust can incorporate these guys into a cohesive part of the attack.

On the coaches now.

They’re overrated. Had a good week 1 but no one was even talking playoffs for them heading into the season. Still need to win a few more games against good teams to be legit.

No crap sherlock, maybe these issues aren't black and white? Maybe there's room for nuance in these discussions?

Like stop focusing on Hurts not being Peyton, and start focusing on what would make Hurts a better version of Hurts.

Stop focusing on imaginary QBs that we might magically obtain, and start looking at realistic alternatives.

Which is pretty much why I've stop responding to most of the people here, I like to discuss things, but I put in mental earplugs when fools shout at me.

You made a statement and he refuted it in a discussion. @Iggles_Phan has well articulated his concerns about Hurts in a thoughtful and conversational way.   There was no shouting just showing why he disputed your conclusion.  Most are aware of what could make Hurts a better QB.  But the traits that work against that have been part of him at Alabama, Oklahoma and for two years here.  I like the way @Next_Up points to the reality that he’s going to be the QB this year.

Most are aware of how difficult it is to land a top QB.  Eagles have been trying for a long time. Turns out it wasn’t Wentz, wasn’t Vick, wasn’t Foles, wasn’t Bradford and in year three, Hurts hasn’t convinced us either.  There are real suggestions that the Eagles have attempted to replace Hurts. Now some of those may be pipe dreams (Watson) but the Wilsons (Zach and Russell) rumors seemed to have some meat on the bone.

We’ve all been around long enough to know Brad Johnson and Trent Dilfer Super Bowls are rare.  Sometimes Super Bowls are lightning in a bottle.  Heck Eli won two.  But most are because of really good QB play.  Sometimes the anomaly year (or in the case of Eli two years, but most from sustained long term really good play by the QB.  So, of course, we seek the unicorn. Would we really be fans if we didn’t?

weren't you the guy blabbering in here for pages about how horrible Hurts is? It really is not too hard to see that the bigger issues are very inexperienced coaches. Gannon appears to be in way over his head with no real plan or vision, and Sirianni is in a similar boat. The only hope for a Hurts improvement comes from Sirianni and Steichen scheming him to success, not Hurts himself. He has too many limitations.

The "Old School" guys you referenced already knew where they were going with the ball at the snap. Play design and D alignment dictated.

The game isn't so much different today but Nowadays they seem to drop back and look around instead of pulling the trigger 2 secs in as a play is designed....looking downfield for the Chunk seems to be the recipe for success instead of Death by 1,000 cuts.

Offensive Philosophies endorsed by the coach I guess.

Peyton was a Master at picking you to pieces, now it's Pat Mahomes confounding you with his improv.

League is getting what they want tho, what they've been working towards...more and varied Offenses and scoring opportunities.

Mahommes has a wrist flick delivery that rivals Marino.
