sure they are logical possibilities for media speculation. I very much doubt he's telling people a list right now.  He's got a season to play and is really still likely to resign

he’s from pampano beach Florida. So i wouldn’t be that shocked if he told friends and family if ravens don’t give him what he wants then he’d like to go play closer to home in Miami

I’ve said before that Lamar Jackson’s contract demands are high risk, if he has plans to stay in BAL.  If he doesn’t care about staying then it’s not risky because he’ll likely get a big fat contract extension from somebody

If I were Decosta I’d franchise tag him, then listen to trade offers when he refuses to sign the tag.  He’s a diminishing asset with demands to be the highest paid player in the NFL.  I doubt his performance this season will motivate any NFL team to fully guarantee a deal.  The NFL is catching up to him.

Besides that, the owner has to put $200 million plus in escrow, whatever is fully guaranteed.  I can’t see most owners willing to do that…, yet.
The big test will be Burrow and the Bengals and how much Mike Brown is willing to guarantee.

I wouldn’t call it nonsense. They logically make sense. If tua doesn’t play well this year, the dolphins are going to move on and they have been trying to get a "big time” Qb to replace tua in the past. Wouldn’t be shocked he would want to go to Miami if the dolphins move on from tua. It’s south beach and they actually have a nice amount of talent on offense around him.

if hurts doesn’t pan out, the eagles have a opening at QB. They have one of the best olines in the league, brown, smith, goedert. I’m pretty sure most QBs would love to play here behind that oline and with those weapons. Plus i think the eagles would have interest. I like lamar I’m not in love with him but i could see the eagles very much having interest if he wants to be here and is available (assuming hurts doesn’t pan out)

the lions aren’t moving forward with Goff. He’s a stop gap. Say what we want about the lions they have an up and coming oline that looks solid. good WRs in st. Brown, chark and Jameson. Have a nice tight end in hockenson. Plus swift is a really good back.

those 3 teams actually make a lot of sense if tua, hurts and Goff aren’t the guys going forward. I don’t know if he said anything but those three teams i wouldn’t be shocked if they were in the sweepstakes

Depending on the cap hit which may make it impossible but if the Cowboys crap the bed this year and Dak is Dak, Jerry could trade him to Miami.

49ers had Nick Mullens playing and Saints had Hill. The teams might have been decent but it’s hard to count those as beating good teams with those two starting.

True, but weren’t the Saints like 10-6, Brees wasn’t gone all year was he?  I was trying to be nice but it’s probably since 2019.

I think they are gonna hire Sean Payton in the offseason and i think he likely thinks he can maximize Dak. That said just looked it up, to trade Dak in the offseason it’s 58 mil in dead money and they still have a $8.9 mil cap hit. Post June 1 it’s 18 mil dead and clearing 31 mil in cap space but i don’t see the ravens waiting til then to do that trade.

Brees was only gone 3 or 4 games with broken ribs I believe, and we were one of those games. All I know is Daniel Jones was the best QB we beat in 2020.

I brought this up at the end of last year, the eagles have 2 wins against teams that finished over .500 in the last two years. Both came against the saints with Hill at QB (also 3rd game of the road trip) and Trevor siemian at QB.

We didn’t beat good teams last season and we weren’t even very competitive in most of those games. It’s certainly something to judge this season from Sirriani, Gannon and Hurts

The amount of bad QBs the Eagles have faced in the last 2 years, and now probably Rush, is only explainable by Howie Roseman using a voodoo doll.

And funniest thing ever. Not much funnier than a vaginal bloodfart.  Maybe certain real farts in rare situations but not likely.

So I just went back and read that Jordan Davis article, and man some of that triggered the Danny Watkins part of my brain.

Comparing Hurts’ game vs Detroit to the defense’s effort is a great example of why it’s impossible to have a halfway decent discussion about him.

I’d say a majority of the Blog is "glass half empty” regarding Hurts. How many people in here actually think he’s good enough to be the guy, or that he doesn’t have a lot of improvement to make as a passer?

Am I allowed to say that I think he’s good enough to be the guy but that he also has a lot of improvement to make as a passer?

He knitted mine from scratch in his crate and PM’d it to me.  As far as scalability goes, it’s spot on.

Why do you think he’s good enough to be "the guy?”  I’m genuinely curious as you’ve seen more QBs than me.

Valid questions, all. Our guy needs lotsa work. We all know this, including the Staff.  Gotta roll with what we have, limitations included until a better option presents. Just hope he's good enough to see us through til then.

I'd like to see the coaches focus on getting the ball out on time to intended targets. TE up the seam? Hit em in stride, 2.3 seconds. throw it.

Single coverage outside? Put it out there as intended, let our guy run under it. Run the play as called, no Improv.

With our O line, he will have his pockets, will he be able to navigate and make the throws?

The skills are there mostly, for basic Offense anyway. The guy can play a bit, guide him and let him execute.

....I'm optimistic but also a realist. Hope for the best, prepared to get bent over....:afro:

I would add to your list, being willing/able to trust his receivers in their route running and "throw them open"

I’d say it’s because Hurts played a functional level of football to help the team win. The defense mostly embarrassed itself and clearly would have been the reason we lost.

I completely agree with your assessment of the Defense.  However, the Offense was MIA for the last half of the 3rd Quarter plus the whole 4th Quarter.  That was not playing at a functional level in my opinion.

Eagles 31 Vikings 17   Sanders runs for at least one TD

No thanks.

His play has consistently dropped, he has thrown for 3,000+ only once and the injury bug popped up last year and IMO, will continue to do so.

That's not even talking about the ridiculous contract he's asking for.

Two touchdown win??? Love that confidence. I hope it's a breeze like that

The defense had like 4 three and outs at one point as well as a defensive TD. The defense for most of the game was fine. Then in the 4th quarter, both the defense and offense just completely fell apart.

For some people here that's an outstanding game

A defense that surrenders 5 TDs when the offense doesn't hand over the ball on a short field is awful defense.  Horrific.

How bad?  I only looked back to 2017, but no team has allowed more than 32 ppg on average.  Most years the worst defenses are allowing under 30 points per game.

They need to do a lot better.

The Vikings will be a great test.  A 3 point win against Detroit can really be framed within whatever narrative someone wants.  I thought Detroit was a lot worse than people admit.  In 2021, their defense was 3rd worst in passer rating, 2nd worst in yards per pass attempt...just a horrific secondary.  So for Hurts to have to instantly revert to running back status against them...I think that's a huge red flag.  I think all the after analysis that Hurts actually played a great game upon further review is a lot of hogwash.

But the Vikings?  I think they are a lot better than anyone wants to admit.  They just completely stifled Rodgers (although Rodgers and GB may be at the point where they do that to themselves).  Their offense is loaded with weapons and Cousins is a much better passer than anyone acknowledges.

That's a team that packs a lot of punch on both sides of the ball.  They would be, by far, the best offense, defense, and QB that the Hurts/Siri combo has ever defeated.

The difference between 1-1 and 2-0 isn't so huge in a lowly NFC-E, but it will be monumental for the psyche of the team and fans.  It would feel like they could beat anyone in the conference if they take down Minnesota.
