You did go over the top in your praise of Strong. It was so over the top, it looked not like you were trolling the over the top Hurts troll but the Strong lovers group. But what does that add to the discussions.  Frankly, most just scrolled past those of your posts.

Today will also be sad with the cutdowns.  Sad to see so many players dreams coming to an end, although with the expanded practice squads and now two spring leagues offering a chance to hone skills and maybe get another chance plus the CFL, the sadness is muted somewhat.

Also a good day if guys like Blankenship and possibly Cain make the team. Realizing their dreams have come true. Jobe too but he's a lock imo

Do you have reading comprehension issues?

Read the first two sentences of my last paragraph.

And way to just gloss over all the other points I raised. Also, the last QBs for the Eagles have been....Hurts (drafted), Wentz (drafted), Bradford (trade), Foles (drafted), Vick (signed after being in jail), and McNabb (drafted).

Eagles draft QBs almost every year.  The only QB that was drafted in the first two rounds that doesn't fit the Lurie mold was Kevin Kolb and he was dumped in an instant in favor of Vick.

Sam Bradford was a Chip Kelly move after he won the power struggle to take full roster control.  The Eagles never committed to Foles despite having multiple opportunities over the years to do so.

The reality is that if Hurts isn't the guy and the Eagles are looking for a new QB next year then given the history of this owner, Lamar will be at the top of their list if he's available

Love to hear this. Sinnett didnt deserve it. And the door is open for a PS QB. Hopefully Strong.

Cain flashed, and burned out quickly. Doesnt deserve it. Not even close.

Blankenship all the way. If he makes it, Im changing my av for a bit.

The 53-man roster cuts are no longer that big of a deal with the ability to call up ps guys and protect them during the season. For example, Togiai is probably going to get the same number of opportunities this year regardless if he is on the regular roster or the ps.

After watching the MIA, you're probably right. So I guess a guy like Allen can be added to the list

There is multiple other forums on this board.  CVON obviously is high traffic with the same 20-25 posters.  The 411 blog is high traffic with the same 10-15 posters.

What's up has a wide array of folks posting in a vast number of threads, and the fantasy sports forum and mock draft forums have a ton of traffic those times of year.

The blog by far has the most and widest array of posters, and some folks want to censor who can post in it, and try to define the specific topics that should be discussed.

Not sure if mentioned already but Mond is being released. He makes a lot of sense as a developmental qb here.

Can see Allen for STs. He really showed value as a punt coverage gunner. He showed more on STs than Covey did as a returner. And Allen may have return potential too.

A suggestion.  You guys take the blog to seriously, and think it is a haven of upper level football knowledge.  It is actually more like a bar, a bunch of drunk guys bantering about football and whatever else comes to mind.

Not that I want any of you to leave, but there is a second blog on this very message board.  It is over in The 411, and it seems to stay 100% football all day.  I will post in their occasionally, but it is kind of boring.

Once again, I DON'T WANT ANY OF YOU TO LEAVE THE BLOG, but maybe this place is what you are looking for.

But it was a haven of upper level football (and other) knowledge long before it became a bar with numerous people too drunk to stand or contribute meaningfully. Long before my time, with Tommy etc. It's the reason I and many others joined. Being in another country with nobody to talk to about football, the blog taught me most of what I know about football. Certainly back then - coming from zero knowledge.

hes better at toppling statues than playing QB. Not interested in Kaepernick Jr.

I can see Blankenship possibly taking over the starting job later in the season. I guess we will need to see first if he makes the 53

Among the Eagles, I wonder if we have finally seen the end of Matt Leo.   TE is an interesting one too. Stoll is the number 2 but do they keep just 2 or 3.  My guess is Calcaterra makes the roster and send Togiai to the practice squad.

Seems odd, he has not played poorly in the preseason, so obviously they are going 2 QB's and looking to practice squad him.

I know about the other subforums. I post in them lol

It's not incorrect to say that this thread is different from what it used to be

A lot of times a thread will get a huge number of pages because a few posters will derail and talk about something else for hours

When you break it down, it is around 1,400 posts a day which really is not a lot in this day and age. That is the reason why the official site was taken down.

I appreciate this place and @VaBeach_Eagle for keeping it alive, but it really is for a small group of older hardcore Eagles fans. At the end of the day, through all the vitriol and word sewage thrown back and forth, that is who we all are.

18 minutes ago, HazletonEagle said:

yeah. I think of the work VABeachEagle put in. The other guys like paco and DUM being key players helping out. How much real life problems VA is going through and still doing that. In addition to being right in the middle of the pandemic, and the money people still threw at this project despite uncertain times.

The work put in making the skin a perfect match to the old board. And the familiarity of it all.

The fact that at this point it is nearly to the point of self sustaining which took all of this time to get to that point.

The fact that we went from a member number in 6 figures to now still less than 1700 means we will lose a ton more.

There is a lot of work, and time not just in transitioning, but in building that has been done here. All because people thought this place exactly how it is, was worth saving. I dont see that many people will want to move. And when some good ones move, and some dont, both places will be worse off. Then you risk losing it all.

That's all completely fair and I'm very conscious of this and sensitive to it. That's why I just sought to enquire if any discussions had taken place and wasn't assertively leading a mutiny charge.

What's Up use to be the place back in the day. A lot of the og's are no longer on the board

Yes to Blankenship and Jobe, no to Cain. Here's my most likely 53:

QB(2) Hurts, Minshew

RB(3) Sanders, Gainwell, Scott

WR(6) Brown, Smith, Watkins, Pascal, Reagor, Allen

TE(3) Goedert, Stoll, Calcaterra

OL(10) Mailata, Dickerson, Kelce, Seumalo, Johnson, Dillard, Juergens, Opeta, Driscoll, Anderson

EDGE(7) Graham, Sweat, Reddick, Barnett, K Johnson, P Johnson, Jackson

DT(5) Cox, Hargrave, Davis, Williams, Tuipulotu

LB (5) Edwards, White, Dean, Taylor, Bradley

CB(5) Slay, Bradberry, Maddox, McPhearson, Jobe

S(4) Epps, Harris, Scott, Blankenship

ST(3) Elliott, Siposs, Lovato

imo keeping everything here and bringing back PTATE would be the best solution for everyone.
