He was awful last week as a passer.

This week was an actually outstanding game for him as a passer, even the pick was 50/50. He shouldn't have thrown that ball but gainwell definitely should have caught it

 Not yet, I overrated the Vikings DC and had no idea that he was so married to Fangio’s scheme that he couldn’t make adjustments to his own.   If you can’t pressure the QB and play your CB’s 8-10 yards off the WR’s, any QB (not Cousins) should complete a bunch of passes.  
 That game wasn’t much different than the Eagles vs the Chiefs, Raiders, and Chargers games last season.   It’s like the playoff game never actually happened, lol.

I don’t even know if I can say he had 4 quarters of good passing last year. This is still an improvement. He needs to keep it up though.

Hard to have 4 consistent quarters when the coaches modify the game plan to pound the rock and eat clock. He was consistent within the game plan. This is the knock against running QBs, that you can't execute a game plan because they have their own play that they fall back on rather than the one the coaches called. Hurts did not do that tonight. He executed the coaches game plan. He can also scramble when needed. IMO, super impressive and a lot for his receivers to build on, confidence-wise.  The Vikings DC said, "beat me with your arm" and Hurts did just that. 

Aj Brown now needs 1186 yards in 15 games to set the eagles single season receiving record.

Reminder he is only 25 years old

Thanks for the compliment but I'm not sure I generally do a good job of noticing blocking. And a lot of times I don't notice the coverage guys. Most of my venting will probably involve Watkins, who's awful at returning kickoffs. And I think (not sure though) that Togiai was at fault on the blocked FG.

If you are specifically saying to me I’ve said cousins consistently puts up top 10 numbers but isn’t a top 10 Qb nor are you ever winning anything with him. Heck i had a giant argument about that earlier in the offseason. I think his stats are hallow and vastly overrated. Youve seen in two weeks why you’ll never win anything meaningful with him. One week against Green Bay he’ll look great and the following he’ll look like he did tonight in a big spot. Hence why I’ve said all night consistency is key for the eagles and hurts next week.

Cool. So me who said imo hurts ceiling was top 15 QB if he reaches it multiple times (i don’t think he’ll consistently be top 10) and one of the few that didn’t bash him all last week on here. I actually said i didn’t think he played poorly. So we are just making crap up that people say. Bravo .

You don’t know what his ceiling is, and frankly saying to 15 is his ceiling isn’t a compliment. You’re saying at best he’s that and the most telling comment is the quarterback to win the SB isn’t on the roster, but yeah you’re in his corner. Don’t be a publicist. Your support is worse than most people’s hate.

Lol. And you know what his ceiling is the other way after 2 weeks? You know what he’s gonna do in the playoffs this year cause it’s been two weeks? My ceiling on him has been the same since the day he became the starter. I haven’t and still haven’t changed on it. Who the hell says i was complimenting him in that? I called out and criticized Carson Wentz when he struggled. I criticized doug. I called out Nick Foles the first time he was here when he struggled. Heck in the games leading up to the 2018 playoffs i called him out on being as poor as he was and the leash would be short in the playoffs if he played like that. I called out sam Bradford when he struggled. I called out Michael Vick when he struggle. I loved Donovan McNabb and I called him out when he struggled. Heck I’ve called out bryce harper for his horrific series against atlanta to end the Phillies season last year during his mvp year.

So you know I pretty much have criticize almost every single player at some point in time on the Eagles when they played poorly. Ive given Jalen hurts in the past props when he plays well like the first half of the Broncos game. I thought that was his best half until tonight. I have no problem doing that. Give anyone props if they go out there any play their ass off like tonight or his first half of the Broncos game. Just like I have no problem if he plays like crap but I’m gonna give him criticism just like I would do with Fletcher Cox who was an all pro talent who frankly hasn’t been worth the money for a couple years now  

you keep moving the goalposts of your original statement.  where did I say I’ve always been his undying supporter? I’ve never said that. What I said was my belief since the time he was named  the starter was that his ceiling was that of a top 15 quarterback. I think he would struggle in the playoffs against better teams, who have a better quarterback who’ll keep scoring, and better defenses to win a Super Bowl. Which hasn’t been proven either way except for last years playoffs. Hence, why last week when everyone was going off i said just get to the playoff and that’s where we need to see how big of a jump he’s made. Literally, my opinion on his ceiling being top 15 (11-15) has not differed since January 2021. I’ve been very critical about his performance against playoff caliber teams (as well as the defense in those games) Idk how that’s supportive or not supportive. That’s how I’ve felt and said for a year and a half plus. I have criticized him for some lackluster performances vs. playoff teams and rightfully so cause he was not good outside of the chiefs game against the playoff teams last year (along with the awful defense). I haven’t seen him consistently pass like he did against Minnesota to anoint him like you. And 1 great passing performance game isn’t enough to say he’s consistent with it. hopefully he strings  multiple games in a row like that. Hence why earlier i said eagles need to come out next week take a big step toward being consistent week to week including hurts. Just so you know I’m more than thrilled to say I’m wrong and he proved me wrong. Heck I’ve done it in the past on topics like Curtis Samuel, kvon wallace, seumalo and many other topics. I’m more than willing to and happy to if he does it. 

So to confirm what you said, I’m allowed to give him credit (support) when he plays well but now limited or prevented from discussing when he struggles as it’s stabbing him in the back (which i didn’t even do last week when there was a bunch of people who did. I actually thought he played well week 1 until he got a nasty hit to his head which i think effected him in the 4th)

Imo until we get to the playoffs, he faces those premiere teams in that situation and he either shines or doesn’t its a question mark whether he can play at a. good enough level in the postseason to win a SB. That doesn’t mean he has to win the game just play well cause it’s not all him if the defense fails but he plays well
