I was impressed with Hurts too.  I’ve been critical of him.  Like the kid, but doubted his ability to reach a consistent ceiling in the passing game that’s good enough  to win a SB

Great game by him last night.  He needs to build on that and let it become the norm.  If it doesn’t become the norm, it doesn’t matter.  Lots of QBs can have great games.  I hope he continues to prove me wrong.

Still reliant on the run, especially in the red zone. Hero ball isnt a sustainable formula. D adjusted and then zero points in the second half. Td pass was a busted coverage half of us could have completed. I get the huggers want their victory lap and will try to take it. Its one more data point.

i was more impressed by the defense than the offense. Three and outs to start? Turnovers? Is gannon learning to blitz more?

Hurts finally throws over 300 yards in his 21st start.

"You guys were wrong! Told you he was the franchise! Haters are embarrassed!"

He was superb last night, but let's pump the breaks a bit.

Hurts take Wentz's job as a rookie and out plays him ''let's pump the brakes a bit.''

Hurts wins the starting job the following year ''lets pump the brakes a bit.''

Hurts take the team to the playoffs in year one as a starter ''let's pump the brakes a bit.''

Hurts works his ass off all offseason and shows major improvement after two games ''lets pump the brakes a bit.''

You clowns are all too predictable, and before the strawmans starting flying. Nobody is crowing Hurts, but it might be time for some of you to admit he's a good starting QB in this league with the potential to be elite.

I've been complementing his play since last night, just think the "franchise QB" talk at this stage is silly. The majority of us think he's probably good enough to be a playoff QB, but beyond that is the real question (and still will be until he proves otherwise).

Couldn't be you being wrong about who you're talking to, again.

Mike Kafka could have taken that job. Hurts didn’t take it, Wentz gave it to him

Forgot to add, but yeah.

I thought the blitzing last night was superb. The few blitzes in week one were good too. Maybe Gannon needs to realize, blitzing works wonders for a pass rush

He is not good and will never be elite. He lacks the tools for that

Here are my final thoughts, not that anyone cares:

STs have been poor and Covey sucks.

I am going to be interested in what @FranklinFldEBUpper 's assessment of STs is.  Here is what the stat sheet says.

Vikings Kickoff Returns = 0 yards (after 7 Eagles kickoffs)

Vikings Punt Returns = 15 yards (after 4 Eagles punts) 12 of which came on one return

Eagles Punt Returns = 13 yards (after 4 Vikings punts) with 11 yards coming on one return and 2 yards coming on the other return (where it appeared to me that Covey was swarmed the second he caught the ball).  One Vikings punt was hit way to the left sideline and (pending Franklin's assessment) looked to me to be almost unfieldable by almost any returner in the NFL.  The gamebook says that Covey fair caught that punt.  I don't remember it that way.  The final punt was a fair catch at the Eagles 18.  So Covey minimized any damage that the Vikings.

Eagles punting = Siposs had 4 punts all of which had a net of over 40 yards, with two of them pinning the Vikings back to the 10-11 yard line.

4-20-PHI 13   (4:46) A.Siposs punts 49 yards to MIN 38, Center-R.Lovato. J.Reagor to MIN 39 for 1 yard (Z.McPhearson).

4-6-PHI 31   (6:28) A.Siposs punts 43 yards to MIN 26, Center-R.Lovato, fair catch by J.Reagor.

4-3-PHI 47   (12:01) A.Siposs punts 47 yards to MIN 6, Center-R.Lovato. J.Reagor to MIN 10 for 4 yards (Z.Pascal; K.Wallace).

4-5-PHI 49 (4:01) A.Siposs punts 40 yards to MIN 11, Center-R.Lovato, downed by PHI-Z.Pascal.

The only real STs blemish was the blocked FG.

That's hardly a loss.   Never should have been brought back.

I'm going to be interested to see the snap counts for Reddick - Johnson - Johnson, as well as the snap counts for Jackson.

I bet Carson Strong would have put up more than 0 in the second half. Pathetic

Question:

I've been called racist a million times for criticizing his play. Am I no longer "racist" now that I've supported him for, ya know, actually playing well? How does that work?

Ironically, most of the posters who "destroyed me" are Hurts Haters who are now MIA. I will give you credit, at least you and a handful of others have swallowed your pride and shown up here.

But let's not make today about me and you. After last night, we should all be happy and full of joy. The team appears to have a legit franchise qb and enough high draft picks over the next two years to bring in young talent on the defense.

A lot to be optimistic about.

I'm a hater but I did compliment him this morning. 15 games to go. Hopefully he can continue his success from last night as a passer in the pocket

The Squirters have their agenda, facts be damned.

No. You're still a racist. You supporting him after last night's performance is like saying you have a black friend so you're not racist. Still racist

The next step is becoming an Ally.  Not until you get a yard sign saying I stand with Hurts will you be you be stripped of your racist label.

I don't enjoy those types of games...   if Smith doesn't drop a sure TD, its a 21-14 game in the first half and all kinds of things could have gone differently.

If the refs don't kill our second drive, we're up 14-0 before the Vikings have a first down.

We won by 17.  It wasn't a one-play game.  Enjoy.

They put up a graphic during the game.   He was only in the slot last week 12 times.  7 on the left, 5 on the right.

Point is, he was lined up in multiple spots, and not matched up against Alexander much. People thought Slay would shadow him as a result, but I didn't see much of that either. Jefferson got most (all?) of his catches against us in the slot again.

If he can consistently reproduce performances like last night's, then he definitely is "good."  Whether he would be "elite" in that scenario is a matter for discussion.

With that said, which QBs in the NFL today are in your opinion "elite"?

Depends on what pronoun you use.

Yes. I can criticize him when he's playing bad and praise him when he plays well. Most of the humpers praise him regardless of how he plays

I am enjoying.   But, I am not going to play the 'shoulda' 'coulda' 'woulda'.  What happened, happened.  What didn't, didn't.   And so they won 24-7, they didn't win 41 - 14, or anything else.

That's a good point.

The yardage being 2-1 IS a sign of dominance though. That is a lot more sustainable than turnover luck.

great game, esp hurts, the D was great too, but why is gannon still dropping reddick back in coverage too much, why overthink?   Lets bring a guy who can get sacks in here, then we'll change what he does?
