Hurts has already exceeded my expectations but I’m a ways away before thinking he’s a franchise QB. 1 great half of football isn’t enough to do it for me, but I was very impressed with him yesterday.

You must have misread the heat index that day.

I hope those claiming racism against Hurts agree with this claim since it’s just as idiotic.

Agree with that being a horrible take.  However, the media sure do cover Cousins in a different light.  Take for instance the tweet below and the hundreds of comments about Cousins.  He 100% looks like he belongs in an Old Navy ad but for a lot of guys out there, I'm sure that's the style they prefer.  Those guys are no longer the NFL's target market.  Compare that the slobbering over Hurts "drip".  Ugh, I hate even typing that.  I like Hurts and Watkins suits a lot, but you think anyone in the media would dare make fun of DeVonta for that short suit?  No, they wouldn't.

Let me also say that I think Cousins is a huge tool but just pointing out differences in how he is portrayed vs. Hurts.  I'm probably reading way too much in to it but it gets really old every Eagles game to have to scroll through tweet after tweet about drip and swag when half the time the players look like fools.  It's the Cam Newton/James Harden fashion effect on professional sports.

He could really mess with the opponent and change their water in to wine.  No way a drunk team could beat you.

The look when your fishing buddy drops all the beers in the water.

He's a first ballot hall of famer....for having doinkface. Right up there with Eli Manning.

Eli's doink face>Kirk's doink face.  Surprisingly, Eli has become pretty enjoyable to watch with Peyton.  I really liked his Chad Powers PSU walk-on bit.  For a guy who had absolutely no personality as an NFL QB, he is pretty entertaining in his post playing career.

Ok Im sorry, the shorts with sports coat look is insane

And Cousins has the same skin tone awareness as Carson Wentz.  Maybe they're trying to literally blend in with their clothing

I’m still in the Philly area and was debating if I should catch a Phillies game. They are making my choice easy.

You keep harping on this.  Do you really think the NFL has a target market other than everybody?  They would be fools to do otherwise.  They want numbers. Numbers attract advertisers.  Their big advertisers are still beer and auto manufacturers.  Who buys beer and autos?  Everyone except those that don’t drive or drink beer and chances are most adults do one or the other.  Just because the NFL recognizes a diverse audience doesn’t mean they are excluding you.

Yesterday there was a tweet of some of the OL entering the building.  One was wearing a shirt kind of like Cousins’. My reaction was they looked like a bunch of farm boys.

You seem to have an issue with the way some black athletes dress before and after games.  I don’t understand why.  If the media embraces what they perceive as stylish, so what?  May open those outlets to some clothing advertisers. Cousins (and Wentz) don’t get treated different because of their politics or religion.  That’s nonsense. Having dealt with religious discrimination for close to seven decades, I can assure you, their religions are more the discriminatory group than the discriminated against groups.  Did you see the group in prayer before the game.  Diverse

Cousins wore a dad shirt.  Rogers has a dad body.  Man, dad is such an insult.  As a proud father, I glow a little inside every time I get called Dad.  Widen your view my friend.

Yup. It’s unfortunate but for the NFL to keep thriving they have to appeal to a target market where you talk about Jim Johnson and they say "who?”.

@brkmsn in the Hurts thread actually believed this

Good point about Sweat.  Having Anderson, Reddick, Sweat, Johnson and Johnson as the 5 deep corps at Edge would be pretty.

Anderson is not a DE. He’s a stand-up pass rusher not unlike Reddick. Better maybe but not a hand in the dirt DE. Sweat , Johnson, and Johnson are very different players. In a 4i he’d be a great edge but don’t ask him to handle a pro OT on a run play.
