It's like people have never been through an NFL season before. How many September powerhouses flame out in November/December? It happens every single year.

Now, there's reason for optimism, and obviously it's far better to start well than not. But the season is a marathon, and we've just passed the first 3 miles of 26 basically.

See Arizona, 2021

It's very true that it's early and a lot can change but it's also true that many would have had no problem pronouncing Hurts, Gannon & Sirriani dead if they stunk up the last game

Whenever I see Devonta Smith in his suits (they look good BTW), the voice of my Gran comes into my head

"Why don't you put some jam on your shoes and invite your trousers to tea?”

So the Commanders have an awesome DL but that's about it.  They also have Rivera who's been around the block on defense

Im anxious to see whether they try to heat up Hurts with some blitzes or just try to let their DL get home so they can help the secondary

Ill also repeat, AJ Brown has completely changed the dynamics of the offense.  I love that we can put teams in a bind like this.

As the popular saying goes, you cant win a marathon in the first three miles but you can sure as hell soil yourself and chafe your nipples

We have not soiled ourselves and our nipples are feeling great

Try spending a night with @olsilverhair. @hputenis will tell you all about it

Meh.  I'm not sold on either one.  But Hurts showed a lot.  Sirriani's High School Harry act is old and will grow old with the players.  Unless he changes, It'll take a lot for me to warm up to him.  Gannon can eat a D.

I think all the sayings and cliches are lame from everyone but players seem to like that stuff. They just need a spark for motivation.  It doesn't even have to be real. I'm more worried about consistent game plans. This past game was one of the first it looked like they had a plan.  Maybe that has to do in part with Hurts play but it still looked like a real plan

Something to nitpick…

The Eagles have yet to score in the 4th quarter. That, to me, says we need a better north/south run game.

For some, it wouldn't even matter how the game was played.

Players aren't as dumb as people think they are.  His good guy goofball act will wear thin.  They don't need that dumb ish to get a spark for motivation.  If that were the case, a lot of NFL coaches would be cornballs like him.  Steichen had a nice script for the first quarter.  Hurts played well.  Players respect winners, not guys with stupid cliches and games.

They do all use cliches. The Pats kept convincing themselves they were underdogs. The Eagles used the underdogs, no one believes in us.  They all manufacture stuff.  The pandering t-shirts etc. I agree are another level

For that generation, the bare ankle or the sock, should not be seen, especialliy when walking.  It's effectively telling the man in a sarcastic way to buy new trousers as they shrunk in the wash

Was happy to see DeVonta Smith be heavily involved on Monday.  He's still being terribly underutilized.  He was big play after big play at Alabama and can break a game open.  Seems the Eagles game plan with him is to run a hitch or a quick out.  I would really, really like to see them find a way to get him the ball in open space or down field.  Not sure if that's on the playcalling or Hurts but either way, he's a nightmare in the open field and they aren't getting him the ball in that manner.

I didnt know this until this morning, but apparently Bruce Arians "left the bench" area during the altercation with the Saints. - No fine, no suspension for him.

I'm unsure what this dude did, or who he has pictures of but he really is the golden boy

He was still on their sideline. The bench area is the area back behind the white stripe; so he didn’t come onto the field or anything suspension-worthy, but the NFL prefers nonessential personnel to not be on the white stripe (players, coaches, officials).

They don’t suspend every waterboy or owner who temporarily steps there, but they were probably concerned because the only reason he was there was due to the fight and he was yelling at Saints players

I never have this problem with my JNCOs.

Come on.  Nobody is as corny as this guy, regarding the cliches and how he talks.  That's not even getting into the pandering t-shirts as you mentioned.

If he was the coach of the Redskins or Giants, we'd all be making fun of him in here.

Jalen Hurts looks like an NFL QB

Sirianni is a made man

😂 Yeah I agree. Maybe Dan Campbell.  My point was they all use the dumb cliches & sayings

yeah. we have made him a possession WR.

Part of that may be that Hurts doesnt like to throw down field. He hit the 1 bomb to Brown in week 1, and 1 to Watkins week 2. And those were the only long throws he attempted.

Smith is very quick and slippery after the catch. If you get him in some space down field he will make the CB and S miss and RAC for TDs.

No one cares if you are winning, maybe even endearing to some… you start losing and you’re ducking bouquets.

It's something they need to figure out.  Through 19 NFL games, he has 5 TDs.  He had 37 TDs over his last 26 games.  I know those are college numbers but that's insane production.  To have only 5 is alarming at this point in his career.  It's not on him either.

Tough to get many TDs when your QB only throws 1 a game.

Let's settle down on the SB contender talk, at least until we don't have the same record as the New York Giants.

.5 per game this year to be exact but you're correct. Was trying to make a point about Smith without sounding like I was continually bashing the QB.  But like HE said, they have made him in to a possession WR.  Damn shame the Eagles finally have crazy talent at WR and through 2 games, they only have 1 TD between the 3 of them.

You think a guy from the UK knows JNCOs?  I' doubt it, but I'm curious lol.

I’m sure across the pond they recognize the utility of being able to hide a 2 litre (sp?) in their back pocket amongst other things.
