It would be in their best interest to bench him next week and start Sam Howell. Wentz is cooked.

What's the over under on him retiring after this season?

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

Next week will be interesting and challenging.  They’ll be playing in 80 degrees and sunshine.  They’ll have to pivot from the offensive game plan this week to a more traditional vertical passing game next week.  If Hurts is up to that task and has a big game with his arm, I’ll be very impressed.  If he kicks the ball around and runs too much, then I’ll be worried about weeks 2+3 being unsustainable.

But with a huge game next week, then we might be done at the qb position.

Well see.

. Brian Hoyer hasn't won a game in 6 years!!!

Lions and Seahawks at 48-45 was a defensive slugfest lol

An embarrassing straw man.

Lol nope

A good win, not perfect, but a good win. Concerned about the injuries and how the Mailata one was preventable if Brown had put a little effort in on the INT.  Hurts was ok, Sanders was very good, Reddick fantastic and the D overall balled out - Scott was baaaaaaaaaad though.  As was that Hurts INT.

Some of the trolling on this thread was kind of embarrassing to read though.

Actually... yup.  Ridiculous hyperbole over what most people who were critical of Hurts said.  No one said arm was all that mattered.

No way Dak gets his job back if they win next week against LA. You are not benching a 5-0 QB.

The Eagles benched the Super Bowl MVP.

The rookie RB had two nice runs as a little icing on top.

Agreed. As soon as Hurts threw that pick 6 you could tell who roots for the team and who roots against Hurts.

Reddick, after a reporter asked about the weather impacting the Jags offense.

"We played in the same weather they did."

Folks still concerned about Gannon?

Shut down Kirk for 3.5 quarters.  The only play he made was a blown coverage by the backup SCB.

I feel better about him, but Lawrence and his receivers made it pretty easy in the rain. They had a lot of self-inflicted wounds.

Which reminds me... Brown should be fined for his 'effort' on that play.

The OL depth showed well.  I’m not sure how much of that was Driscoll and Opeta versus how much was well designed smoke and mirrors from the coaches.  Maybe a bit of both.

Mailata needs to stay healthy.

Maddox will be back and ideally Slay will be fine.

Arguably the biggest concern moving forward is the most dominant strength on the team, this OL.  They are not a beacon of durability.

This is Sermon's second season.  Played for the Niners.

Also, Brown's unwillingness to put any effort into that tackle allowed the play to continue, which lead to the Mailata's injury.   Let's just hope it's nothing major.   Brown could have just shoved the guy in the back and thrown him off balance.  But, instead he did nothing.

Sermon is not a rookie.

And who was trying to troll others by saying a bunch of stupid non Hurts ish to get a reaction.  I'd question both sides of the fences priorities at times today

eh... he's basically a rookie.

Get him @downundermike

Couple of nice runs by the young, more or less but not technically rookie, RB :P

The defense has been opportunistic in the last 2 weeks.  Wentz egregiously holds the ball and doesn’t protect it.  They took advantage.

In the rain, Lawrence couldn’t hold the football.  They rushed wider and deeper so they could swipe at the football all day long without actually hitting the qb.  They took advantage.

Wish he had some more opportunities.  Hopefully as the year goes on, he gets a few more.
