What’s more impressive?  Howie getting a 1st and 3rd for Wentz or the Colts getting a pair of 3rds one year later?

Howie IMO. It was obvious after 2020 that Wentz was fried. He at least did some good things last year.

Yes, but we aren’t allowed to speak of the things to clean up.

Hurts still bails out of the pocket too soon. That’s something I don’t think will ever get fixed. It’s frustrating but at least he rarely makes stupid throws back across his body.

Also throws too high on slants and comeback routes. Think that could be because he is shorter for a QB and needs to make sure his balls don’t get tipped at the line.

All seriousness... bad day to play a game.  Had to fight to get it after they put themselves in a big hole.  They were the better team, even without the LT, top CB and eventually RG.  Ultimately, there were some bad things... but there were some very good things.   If you want to look at the good, there's plenty there.   If you want to look at the bad, there were options there as well.

4 - 0.  The schedule remains easy, and might actually be easier than it appeared to be at the beginning of the year.  We'll see if they can clean the bad up, and hopefully they will run Hurts less.

That was a business decision.

Analytics helped us win a Super Bowl.

Analytics certainly can help but sometimes there seems to be an over-reliance on it. It's another tool.

I could see the OL becoming the biggest problem on the team over the course of the season.  Mailata/Dickerson/Kelce/Seumalo/Johnson may be the best starting 5 in the NFL.  But how many games per year, over the last 3 years, have Mailata/Seumalo/Johnson/Dickerson (including college) missed on average?

I think it was always going to be a lot of Opeta, Driscoll, and others pitching in meaningful snaps.

TL:DR:

Covey is still a worse version of Reno Mahe!   Also, Jeff Lurie sucks.  Should have a retractable roof powered by fan farts to maintain carbon neutrality at the Linc to protect fans from the elements.

Surprised by this response.

I've always liked our talks.

Guess not, this time....

Covey was a better KR than Quez.

Didnt seem like he was near breaking any, but he got us around the 30 a few times. Ques usually found a blocker to run in to at around the 15-20. So a nice 10 yard improvement in field position was decent.

But the depth is good. So its not really gonna be a problem.

If the CBs continue to be injured, that can be exploited by teams with more than 1 offensive weapon. But a team like the Jags with just Kirk wasnt going to be the team to do it.

Reddick made due on his salary today.

Dillard, Opeta, Driscoll, and Jurgens would start on half of the other OLs in the league.  We've been spoiled.  With two reserves playing and everyone in the stadium expecting us to run, we held on the ball for 5+ minutes on our last drive.  Opeta was featured on a key third down conversion.

I find it absolutely fascinating how fast Quez looks running routes and how slow he looks returning kicks.  Shows how important the mental part of the game can be.

The OL depth is *sort of* good.  Dillard is an outstanding backup LT, but he's made of glass and wasn't available when needed today, so I'm not sure we can count on anything there.  Likewise, Driscoll has a lot more talent than a typical backup, but he can't stay on the field and can be a real dagger to the heart if he comes in and then forces another change by going down.  After that, Jurgens looks like a great Kelce replacement, but I'm in no rush to see him at RG.

Respectfully, I'm not buying that at all.  Just because our starting 5 are stacked doesn't mean the unproven backups behind them would start for half the teams in the NFL. Opeta has been cut 3 times in 3 years and has never been signed by anyone.  This was the first August that he made the team.

Thanks for sharing.  Like posters who call Brown out for not trying to tackle that defender.  You think someone who does that, isn’t "enjoying a victory”?

If that’s the first thing you take from it, yes. The bad crap starts tomorrow and I guarantee the coaches will work it to death. But I, the old fart, like to snuggle in the heating pad of victory, being the only undefeated team in the league, and having spotted a good team two touchdowns and then crushed them.

Putting up 200+ yards rushing against the best run defense in the league gives me, if not a woodie, at least a thick toothpick.

I had the great pleasure of enjoying the game with @mattwill and early on I said to him that facing adversity is good for a young team. They did and they responded. Beats the hell out of the whimpers that appeared here.

I never look at the Blog because of the intense level of hysteria that I had seen before learning to look elsewhere. I did hope it would have dissipated once the game was won. Not so much.

I apologize if this was already shared but I liked it a lot

If the blog is so miserable and you like to snuggle in the heating pad of victory, why venture into the blog after said victory?

Some people like to dissect.  It's fun.  It's not misery.

Maybe half was a bit of hyperbole.  Let's go with several.

But "unproven"?  Driscoll, Dillard, and Opeta all played important snaps last season.

Quez looks slow when he's returning kicks because he's about to get in a nasty collision going full speed. He looks awkward with the ball in his hands after the catch too, unless he has free grass in front of him.

The ball got kicked through the EZ, but I half expected the coverage team to blast Covey out of principle.

yeah the complaints at 14-0 were pathetic, considering it was just the 1st quarter. Plenty of football to be played with the eagles being the much more talented team. It was only a matter of time till the storm was weathered and talent took over.

Why enjoy driving a buick?

the fact that its mediocre does not make one miserable

It was impossible not to laugh at the one last week. Muff, recover the ball, get smashed.
