October 4, 20222 yr The issue with QB salaries now is the Murray and Watson deals have really skewed the market; the levels of guaranteed money being thrown about is franchise changing over a large number of years, and it makes decisions on retaining Hurts/AN Other QB a tough one for franchises. Do you want to be stuck in a multi year guaranteed deal with someone that could have the same career ceiling as Kirk Cousins or has physically atrophied like Cam Newton? I don't envy FOs navigating that path. You want to reward players for playing well, but you want options too if it goes wrong without turning the franchise into a long term dumpster fire

It's ok to admit it. And until they show otherwise, KC is still a good team. Funny because I remember at least one person saying losing Hill would totally dismantle their offense. Seem to be doing just fine so far.

As long as this man exist, they'll be contenders Sometimes I think between him, Allen, and Rodgers my pov of QBs has been skewed a little because they changed the position

If they lose to the Seahawks somehow, then that pick could be top 5 easily. Really just need teams to show up. Bengals and Raiders are more talented teams that need to show up on the road. At Cardinals on a short week should be a game AZ wins. Got the 50/50 games like Seahawks and Steelers. They could, however, win 3 of their last 4 IF the Eagles sit their starters for a portion of the game.

It's ok to admit it. Man can’t even have a simple convo with you without you having to make some sort of tough guy remark. Yes, I think the Eagles have a better team. Outside of QB, I think they’re better at every position besides safety. The NFL is also a lot about matchups. Think the Eagles would matchup better with them than they would the Chiefs. However, I think the Bills would have a better chance at beating the Chiefs than the Eagles would. Just my meaningless opinion. It’s not meaningful like yours Tommy Toughnuts

If it's a top 10 pick 61% of the time, it's also in the 11+ range 39% of the time. I think they'll win more than we expect. I sincerely hope I'm wrong and New Orleans craters.

I don’t know if he gets the monster contract yet, but he’s 100% our 2023 starter. Those picks are now future DEs or trade bait Agreed. Hurts would have to crater for him to not be the starter next year. And if he keeps this level of play up, he will be extended well before that season begins.

October 4, 20222 yr Author Football Outsider stuff... 2nd in overall DVOA - Off: 4 / Def: 3 / ST: 29 (We are the only team with a top ten offense and defense) We are 4th in pass offense, 6th in rush offense, 2nd in pass defense, and 23rd in rush defense.

What if he demands an obnxious amount of money. What if he gets hurt, again, worse this time. What if he reverts to old Hurts for the last 12 weeks. Any smaller combo of those 3. What if he looks like crap in the playoffs then wants a monster contract. I think your first one will resolve itself, agents are able to tame that kind of thing. The issue right now with Lamar is he has no agent, so he’s doing whatever he pleases. Your second one I think would work in Hurts’s favor. That also means he only has excellent tape on record, and Howie will say they’ll ask him to run less because he’s evolved as a passer. The biggest boon for Hurts though is also preventing 3 or 4 coming to fruition… Third thing is the biggest concern, that’ll definitely tank his stock price out of starter material. I think he becomes Carson Wentz if that happens. We trade him to the Texans for a 2 or so and move on. My early comment was about how far a fall it’s have to be for that to happen, but all 12 games would definitely do it. Fourth scenario I think would be very circumstantial. Do we have the #1 NFC seed and a first round bye? So even though TB came in and blew us out again, Hurts got us to the division round through his regular season play. But then again, if we have a first round playoff home game and it’s Detroit or Minnesota who does it, and he looks ugly despite a strong regular season…. That’d be really interesting. I don’t know what would happen. Do you say "well he’s still only 25?” Especially if he finishes third in MVP or whatever it’ll be. Just would depend on the when, where, and how bad the playoff failure is
