Agree but I don't think he will be cheap.  He's basically the engine to their offense.  They would have to start losing some more games.  Tied with Bucs for best record in the NFC South currently.

That makes more sense.  I don't want to replace Elliott yet but his contract is pretty significant if I'm not mistaken.  Would be great to have a kicker waiting in the wings.

You don't just let a franchise kicker leave.  Bad kickers can completely screw a team over.

Not suggesting letting him leave but his cap this year is $2.9 and jumps to $5.7 and $5.3 the next 2 years.  Dicker isn't the answer but it's always good to have kickers on the rolodex.

It’s worth noting, we ran and threw left early, with some success. When Driscoll came in after Mailata got hurt on the pick-6, we got nothing to the left. From then on, pretty much everything was through the right side A and B gaps. I’ve posted on the Power a few times - that’s where the center blocks down and the guard pulls around him and leads the RB through the first gap he sees. Stoutland has a variant, where the guard blocks down and the center pulls around him. We must have run that play a dozen times in quarters 2-4. Kelce was just fantastic on it.

It is interesting to compare Opeta last week and Opeta this week.  Night and day.  Any thought on why that was?

He was just put on IR and had a "procedure” on his knee. Don’t know if he’ll be back before the deadline 

What’s the word on Mailata?  I’ve been under a rock for the last 24hr.  I figure the lack of a pinned topic is a good sign.

The silence about his MRI beyond "hopefully he’s playing Sunday” is a little concerning considering the Eagles’ injury history.

No word. It’s known he had an MRI Monday morning. Sirianni said "they’ll know more Wednesday” and "everyone injured has a chance to play”. Kinda sounds like he’s getting a second opinion to me. If the MRI was clean I think it would have leaked.

I think at this point we can assume it’s not an IR kind of injury.  We already know he feels good enough to be at least a limited participant in practice.  So at this point, whether he’s totally fine or will be out several weeks, they’ll probably keep that under wraps until Sunday.

#1 overall pick without hesitation.  
 

Being the #1 seed in the NFC, the weaker conference, gives the Eagles…at best, what…20% odds of winning the SB?  I doubt Vegas would put it higher than that.  So there’s an 80% chance it doesn’t change anything.

#1 overall pick? Franchise changing.  In this draft, you could trade down, pick up a first for 2024, and still get the stud LB from Alabama.  Then the team will be SB favorites for years.

You guys want a proven, elusive, experienced punt returner?
