And he blocks his butt off. Having Goedert and him is a weapon in the run game out of 11.

Definitely a good addition.

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

How many teams are setup to have their 4/5/6 WR step up and take on a prominent role? It’s nice to have talented depth, but roster construction generally doesn’t allow it. I’d say adding a WR via FA would be more plausible.

I'm not saying make WR a priority but those middle rounds or even the 6th where Quez was drafted.  I'd say it's a 99.9% chance that Quez doesn't sign a 2nd contract here.  If you can draft his replacement and get something in return before he jets I'm all for it next year.

WR is so far down on the list of needs with a high draft pick. I’d wager an incredibly large sum of money it’s not even on Howie’s radar

That would be a funny bet to try to win. I imagine you trying to get credentials to Howie’s post-draft press conference and asking him very specifically, "Was WR even on your radar in round 1?” Then you either curse loudly at his answer or do an exaggerated fist pump and immediately walk out.

Just crazy to see considering how much his stats were buoyed by garbage time last year.

Double downing on Dline in the 1st round is my biggest hope for the team. Give me Anderson/Breese, or Carter/Foskey/Murphy.

I would be…they assume most people want to watch Brady

The local affiliate station probably is aware of the relative potential audience size of Brady versus the Eagles Draft Pick Watch.  If they are, then they will probably let the Network know.

We really should just get another team’s first round pick every year. It’s pretty fun to hate another team.

If the Saints pick stays high IMO it's edge rusher or bust for us. Otherwise I'd be looking to trade the pick for someone looking for an OT or QB.

Edge rusher or shutdown corner.

With the OL we have... running the ball should always be a major piece of the offensive philosophy.  Investing big in a 3rd WR just doesn't make a ton of sense to me.  And the price of WRs is getting ridiculous.  Having multiple $100M Wrs on the roster is just not a viable roster construction option, in my view.   Whereas, keeping the 2nd and 3rd WRs cost fairly low, and keeping the RB cost fairly low, while investing heavily in the OL means that you should have a sustainable offense for the foreseeable future.  The game is still won and lost, primarily, along the LOS.  2020 was a crap season for a lot of reasons, but the biggest one was the absolute dreck that was thrown out to play OL that year.  2019 wasn't great by any means, but it was a playoff year, in large degree because the OL held up.

This is the Turkey Hill Post of the Day!

Reddick has 3+ sacks

The play at 1:01 is really intriguing. We f teams continue playing that orbit motion that way it would give Smith a lot of room. Two decent blocks and Smith is one on one for a potential chunk play.

Hell, with how Watkins is being used this year, if a team offers them a 4th at the deadline Howie should take that and run and just sign Allen to the roster.

My thoughts as well.

Probably better for Quez’s career as well.

We may not agree on what to do with a high pick.

We should all agree to root for every college QB to play and then test well.

The number of defenders that we don't block on successful runs is mind boggling.

So you’d take Derek Barnett over Jamar Chase? Got it

False dilemma fallacy.

@Original Sin

I think I remember you collecting basketball cards. Especially rookie cards.

Since the NBA has begun a new path to the draft with rookies able to forgo a college season and play in the G league have you noticed if they make rookie trading cards for those G league players? Or do they wait until they are a rookie on an actual NBA team?

It would be great to find a Wembanyama G League card. As well as his rookie card once he is drafted. But Im not sure if there will ever be a G league card in existence.

He won't play in the G league, already playing professional in France. Scoot has for 2 years now

Oh! I misunderstood. I was thinking the Henderson vs Wembanyama game was G league.

So Henderson is in G League, but Wembanyama is not?

Quez is only getting 1 target a game because Hurts is HEAVILY favoring throwing to Brown and Smith, and he SHOULD be. Teams really have to account for Quez's speed and its opening up the space for Brown and Smith to succeed even more. Add in the fact teams have to account for Goedert and the targets he is taking. This offense should be targeting Quez more but that is not an indictment of Quez's skill as a player. Drafting a WR in the 1st round would not change anything in this offense.

Quez plays a fraction of what Brown and Smith do but when he is in, he has to be accounted for.  He is a big reason why the intermediate routes are single coverage.  Very few CBs can play him single man.  That draws the S.  If he runs through the zone, he draws the S.  Watching the Commode Doors trying to solve that on the All 22 was a joy.  They want to double cover Smith, Brown and Goedert but they can’t. Do that and Quez is open. The empty because of Hurts’ running ability is a conundrum for the DC.

Fake news. Blog told me that running game would be just as effective with Minshew.
