But we don't have a viable replacement.  Just some guesses.  We are looking to win now.  That's why Dillard may be around all season.

I don't know that.

It is all speculation, and I enjoy speculating.  I also enjoy seeing the volume and diversity of discussion grow.

I think the RPO is more of a triple option with Hurts being able to keep it vs. RPO with Foles where it's either a hand off or pass.

I think you are right, but that would be a third variant.  RPRO.

In Canadian civil law you are unable to recover any damages if an injury occurs to you while committing a criminal act. I don’t know if what he did constitutes criminal trespassing.

@BigEFly the negligence question is interesting. Wagner being a pro football player could be held to a higher standard (like a ufc fighter engaging in a street fight). But again I think a jury would laugh at this clown

It does according to PA law.  Not sure about CA law.  I don't even know if CA still has laws anymore.

Attention teams showing off your black uniforms via photoshoots. Having all black backgrounds doesn't do an ounce of good for those wanting to see what the uniform/helmet actually looks like.

Stupid look... stupid photo shoot.

He was extremely restrained.  He knocked him down and neutralized the threat, and immediately moved out of the way and let security finish the job.  But he did what they couldn't do... which was bring him down.  Multiple security agents had already failed to put an end to the issue.

So Arizona will have to use a practice squad kicker too, eh?

I definitely would like to see it.

Ah today's society.  Take no responsibility for your actions and blame others for the results.  The sad thing is it probably somehow gets settled outside of court and he walks away with something.

This guy is some animal rights activist or something.  In his mind he thinks he is a hero.

On Sunday, I’d dress Mailata and start Driscoll at LT.  If Driscoll impairs the functionality of the offense or if someone gets hurt elsewhere on the line where Driscoll would be needed, then call up Mailata at LT.

Not a relevant question to my post.  Having a running offense or one that can rely heavily on the run doesn't mean that the QB has to (or should ever be expected to) do the heavy lifting.

The 2017 team was a great example of what I am talking about.  They had a very nice dose of run heavy situations and it wasn't about Wentz or Foles carrying the rock.  It was about beating teams up with Blount, Ajayi and to a lesser extent Clement.  That team could pretty much run at will on opponents.  That's what I am talking about.

And I'd rather add a game changer at OL than WR.  The payoff is greater in my opinion.

I think it’s highly relevant. Our QB is on pace to break the NFL record for rushes at his position. And it’s going to be by a fairly substantial margin at this rate. Our current rushing game is based around this.

If we go to a more traditional rushing attack like you suggest then a lot is going to need to change outside of the OL. In 2017 we had one of the most productive slot receivers in the NFL for instance, as Agholor had a breakout season. He was a first round pick and an important cog in the offense.

Is this a question?

Yes, they have a backup kicker for this weekend.

You're asking the QB to make two reads simultaneously - the unblocked DE and the targeted LB (or safety). That's tough duty. It can be done but it's really hard. OTOH, if Hurts pulls it and because the DE crashes the LB does not commit, he may have a second pass option. Still tough duty because he has to get the ball out fast or commit to the run because the OL is run-blocking.

Has anyone watched Wake Forest and their QB handle the mesh? The length of time he holds onto the ball is just crazy

did any attention go to AB non-attempt on the pick 6? [not a big deal just wondering lol]

yes, it’s usually quite effective too

The S and D key are too close to each other for an old guy like me.

Lol. Glad he’s leaning into that dive attempt.

I doubt Wagner gets held to a higher standard.  He tackled the guy. He didn’t exert excess violence on him. The guy ran across the field towards Wagner and the others on the sideline.  He had some device emitting smoke in his hand. I don’t see how a jury could ever convict a person that literally put his own life at risk by preventing the encroachment. By the very nature  of the "protestor”’s actions, he may be guilty under CA law of at a minimum, simple assault.  The fact a security officer was hurt during the commission of the trespass might even elevate the charges.  Wagner and McKinley seem to meet all three elements of a self defense argument.

  1. You reasonably believed that you or someone else was in imminent danger of suffering bodily injury or being touched unlawfully;
  2. You reasonably believed that the immediate use of force was necessary to defend against that danger; and
  3. You used no more force than was reasonably necessary to defend against that danger

Build a running team around running the ball with a RB, and we don't have to worry about how much punishment our QB is taking.  The current style certainly isn't the only option when it comes to running the football.  And there are ways to invest at WR without dropping yet another first round pick (or other super high draft pick) at WR.  JJAW... 2nd round, Reagor... 1st round, Smith... 1st round, Brown... 1st round pick AND $100M contract.  At some point the team needs to spend high draft picks at some other positions.

The touchdown that was called back was a triple option.  Starts with ZR, then Hurts can shoot it out to the WR (Brown) if the corner crashes the run.  Great design.

Also very slow developing, which is why Goedert was flagged for OPI... he couldn't wait that long.

Eagles have three players projected to have over 1k yards receiving.

While I agree 100% with the bolded, The threat of Hurts running the ball helps both the running game , and the passing game. It helps the Oline etc.  If we were to take that away from our offense,  teams would play us much differently, likely limiting our current run game, as well as making it much harder to find open WR's.

Yes it can be done, but the entire offense benefits greatly from the threat of Huts running the ball. The ideal would be to show that threat 2-5 times a game max, to keep defenses honest.

Wish we had that Colts 1st rounder this year😅
