Tell your nephew that my invitation hasn’t arrived yet. Likely the US mail.

Wedding receptions have changed so much since I was a kid.  Usually at least a couple of people carried out after they’ve drank to unconsciousness, a fight at some point …. and if you followed traffic home from the banquet hall you’d see at least one car pulled off to the side for someone to take a leak, and a couple other vehicles pulled over for people to puke  into the ditch.

Is it any wonder my sense of humor is warped?

Greg Ward isn’t one of your leaders unless you’re the Jags or Texans

I don’t think that’s true and from what a number of coaches have said, neither do they.  Don’t have to be the top player to be a leader.  Ward has always had a reputation of being a leader.  I think you are confusing leader with talent.

Clark is looking like some TMZ paparazzi here.

He was the de facto leader in the WR room because he was the oldest. I don’t think he was a team leader.

He’s always waiting at the airport for the new player arrivals

Greg Ward may well have been one of the most underwhelming WR the Eagles have ever had but he 100% was a respected player in that locker room.  I believe he was a lead by example kind of guy.  Even though his numbers were lousy, he was at least consistent when called upon.  He served his role with a WR group consisting of Reagor, Hightower, Fulgham, JJAW and the rest.

I think we'll see him end up as a good coach when his playing days are over.  I'm glad the Eagles have decided that they need more talent at the position but Ward was a solid pro for the Eagles.

Last wedding I was at a few years ago had an open bar but they had arranged for a shuttle to and from the hotel that was on a rotating schedule all night. Nobody puked on the bus the wife and I took but we had to help an uncle of the groom basically carry his wife to their room.   The uncle and I were lit but I am pretty sure we didn’t drop her or run her into anything.  She doesn’t know it but I am pretty sure her husband and I briefly discussed using a luggage cart. I think it was my wife’s suggestion but she has no memory of it.

So as much as I hate Howie and his cap management and drafting, he does do well this time of year, do you think he can pull something off tomorrow that tops today?

Tops getting a high end 24 year old safety for basically JJAW and a 5th? Would be pretty hard to do at this stage.  I'll just be happy if we IR some guys and pick up a FA or 2. It's been an absolutely ridiculous off season.

Not sure what else there is to fix unless we’re talking about solidifying positions like DE, CB, RB for the future. Maybe get a pick for Reagor and replace with someone like Rambo?

Is there a DE who offers more than Tarron Jackson?  He's improved from last year but is his ceiling always going to be DE4.  Way too aggressive and over pursued in every preseason game.

I agree. He got so much hate in the blog yet stepped and played better than expected. Great UDFA signing

Howie has more than done his part of the job, it's up to Hurts, Gannon, and Siri to make sure this thing works, in that order of responsibility.

I’m already expecting CGJ to be a huge disappointment.

Slot corner who is going to play safety because we need him to.

For JJAW and a 5th I would have taken a good special team player and a mediocre sandwich.  A top slot corner who has also played safety, coming into a scheme where there is a lot of crossover between the slot and safety position is a steal.

This team is still in desperate need of a quarterback. I can only get so excited for the season.

Just, you know, a real QB.  But that’ll have to wait.

Hargrave, White, Edwards, Bradberry, Epps, CGJ aren't signed for next season.  If you think Cox is gone too, that's 7 of your starting 11 on defense.  We have Davis and Dean, but there is still some work to do there.

QB and RB are the question marks for our future offense.
