With Matt Rhule out as Carolina Panthers’ HC, keep an eye on Penn State. Rhule is from State College.

PSU HC Franklin’s status has been in limbo on and off, and they have UM-MN-OSU coming up. PSU’s new AD, Patrick Kraft, is a buddy of Rhule’s. Franklin might feel some heat,” John U. Bacon said in a Tweet.

They just extended him through 2031

  • Perfect weekend for me. I got to make my long time soul mate my wife officially. And I got a eagles win today. Life is good.

  • Listen up blog.  Enough. These 2 ass clowns are suspended for 2 weeks.  They've both had warnings to quit the personal attacks.  There's a line between trash talk and just abusing other posters a

I mean it's not really new either - it was almost a year ago

He never hit his head on the concrete. Court docs says "Push caused whiplash and headache. Possible minor concussion." His book bag actually cushioned his fall and probably prevented him from hitting his head.

Ok.  Doesn't change a thing when the concern is 'concussion'.  The NFL can't turn a blind eye to that and act like its not a big deal.  That would kill them in future court cases when they will inevitably be sued again about their concussion protocols.  Adams should get a one game suspension.

Still can't get over how the bottom of the order (Segura, Vierling, and Sosa) manufactured a run in the top of the fifth (double, bunt, sac fly) that turned out to be the difference in the game.

This feels different.

Yup.  And according to Thomson, Vierling's sac bunt was his own decision.   And it was definitely the right move for him.  Sosa was huge in the game yesterday.  Getting production from the 9 hole like we did was huge.

Gonna need some production out of the bottom of the order again.  And I like Stott in the 9 hole, setting the table for Schwarber.  I like it better than Stott at 7 and Marsh batting 9.

I would prefer Rhule at PSU to Franklin.   I think Franklin is a clown.  Good recruiter though... but when it comes to actually coaching the team, he's middling at best.

Has Dallas played a decent offensive line yet?

Yeah it's college though.  They could just fire him, call it "mutually parting ways", pay Franklin the $80 million or whatever he's owed and then hire Rhule.  It's easy.

These colleges and billionaire sports owners love wasting millions of dollars.

Panthers still owe Rhule 900,000 a month for next 4 years , I would be guessing , but I would think that doesn’t happen if he coaches elsewhere… that is 10 million per year  , I don’t see any college program giving him that kind of money .

thats what I was thinking. He just got a brand new deal last offseason.

I dont know who John U Bacon is.

Maybe PSU has the money to pay him and pay someone else. The premise is, if Penn State struggles through the second half of the season again. Which is what they did last year.

I wonder if they would be willing to pay for Franklin while also paying Rhule?

Ouch.  Rough day for @HazletonEagle

I am not John U Bacon.

I just thought it was interesting. In large part because of the contract he just got.

Yep.

I was shocked when they extended him. He is so obviously bad at coaching and has cost them in numerous games. Also have seen him blame his players after a loss that was in large part due to his poor decision making. Real idiot.

He might be one of those guys who youd love to see gone but hard to improve on. Maybe they see Rhule as one of those rare opportunities and would be willing to pay both.

But again, I have no idea who John U Bacon is so maybe hes just a nobody who is speculating.

I can see Nebraska if Rhule wants it .

Basically a rookie move. Take credit for it.

We have determined a winner.

I don't see him wanting that job.

He'd most likely wait a year and wait till a better school and situation opens up.

If Venables at Oklahoma keeps nosediving into next season I can see that job opening up.

Amen. At least take a year or two.

But, but, but @JamesBK11218 said I need my eyes checked.....................

I would guess Auburn or Nebraska if he coaches next year .

The bag may have kept him from hitting the ground, but he could have gotten whiplash and had his brain bounce off his skull. He may be milking it, but you are right. The NFL needs to suspend him and can't turn a blind eye.

If the Eagles lose and score less than 20 points in the process, there will be some lively dialogue:

I almost predicted that... but couldn't bring myself to type it out.   It wouldn't shock me though if it happened.  It would, however, piss me off!   The Eagles SHOULD absolutely win this game, especially with Cooper Rush at QB.   If they lose, they have no excuse.  And it will be a giant flat tire for the championship chase bandwagon.

All concussions are the brain bouncing off the skull.  ;)

Sosa has been incredible since he has come here. I give him a ton of credit cause he looked like crap with the cardinals this year. In 2021 he was actually good at hitting and fielding. If he continues to hit like he has since he came he needs a bigger role. It’s nice cause he’s still young too. He can be a Pedro Feliz type player for the Phillies.

Damn you took what my bonus was gonna be. I saw we had won the turnover margin in every game and a +9
