They got $38 million coming off the books between McCutchen, Herrera, Bradley and Neris.

Hoskins should get a big raise in arbitration or they will sign him to an extension. Suarez is also first year arbitration eligible.

Wheeler and Nola get a bump in their salary.

These numbers include McCutchen's $15 million option being picked up, I don't think it will:

Add $12 million for them buying out Cutch with a $3 million buyout and they should be $97 million under the tax.

Plenty of flexibility to add at least 2 big FA signings

Castellanos opted out. Biggest fish. Go get him.

What is the first day that we could sign him or other free agents?

I am faxing/emailing his agent a contract this morning.

5 yrs $100mil

Dombrowski needs to strike fast in free agency, before a potential lockout on Dec 1.

Free agency is a competition. You don't win by inaction, waiting, or holding onto your money.

Go get the premium players now. Go sign the 2nd tier, good value, complementary players.

The Phillies need LF, CF, SS, 3B, SP, Closer. Maybe DH.

Get after it now. Playoffs next fall.

Surprised on Torreyes. He was a nice bench player last season.

They can still try to sign him on the cheap.

Players like that are notoriously up and down year over year

Hmm… is the idea that this will somehow result in more kids watching/going to the games?

Probably more commercials between innings instead.

Well, when you drafted like crap for the past 20 years, that's your only option.

Apparantly he is a big part in finding pitching prospects for the Rays

If only we could pair him up with THE NATIONAL LEAGUE MANAGER OF THE YEAR we’d really be on to something. Their styles would mesh perfectly.

The guy only graduated college in 2016. They’re definitely bringing in fresh new blood. Seems like a good hire based on the Ray’s track record, but we’ll see and likely won’t know for sure for at least a couple years.

Free agency started 5 days after the World Series.

Qualifying Offers are out to about a dozen players. Players have until November 17th to accept or reject $18.4mil for one year.

If the Phillies sign a player that turned down a QO, we pay a penalty of a 2nd round draft pick and $500k  international signing money.

Phillies could sign free agent players today, but free agency never moves that fast.

Someone give Dombrowski a call. Tell him to get going.

I just love that Dombrowski is cleaning house and bringing in his own people.

I always hated the David Montgomery "family" BS where the Phillies would never fire anybody just because they have been there for so long.

The training and medical staff are a disaster - how many times have they misdiagnosed or delayed surgery for a player who obviously needed it?

The scouting system has been terrible for decades. Ditto player development.

I'm glad Middleton is moving away from the old ways of doing things

If the Phillies wanna sell some tickets, they need to sign a premium player or two right before the Thanksgiving break.

And before a potential lockout on Dec 1.

Let's go Dombrowski. Make a splash. Spend some of that money.

My wishlist based on giving up zero draft picks for QO free agents and my unlimited budget (it's not my money):

What free agents could the Phillies sign without giving up draft compensation? – Phillies Nation

Kris Bryant

Starling Marte

Kyle Shwarber

Kenley Jansen

Steven Matz

Sounds like they are overhauling their strength and conditioning team, as well..

Good

Terry Francona pt 2
